I’m not a first time ice fisher but it’s first time I have everything to do it myself. My own pond, my own fed fish, my own tent, my own stove on metal etc. I spudded around and put home base location 3 feet off shore. I shovelled the day before for ice thickness then this morning I sprayed water with my usb shower and let it freeze up for even more ice clarity and thickness. I’m hoping it also helps keep the snow blowing off the area. I then set everything up to get it all ready with wood and whatnot. I’ll fire up the wood stove and drill a hole around 10 tomorrow and fish all day into the night I think. I wanna see if I can do light night fishing and see the bottom. I’ve got a rope I will tag to belt from the tree. I figure not bad for my first lone set up. Wish me luck 🍀
Thanks, James. This is a great refresher too for the not-so-new ice angler.
