I have a 5.4l Triton as well, 2005 F-150, It has cat back true duels with Flowmaster original 40's. It has a deep and loudish noise to it, but not to the point of it being obnoxious. Would definitely recommend this set up.
I got a 2008 Ford F-150 with the same engine and mine pulled a storage shed one time and it only has 87k on it It has a brushguard and rough country 20 inch light bar and a new radio and a backup camera i just put in led lights on it they are really bright but u have got a good looking truck u should put a brush guard they transform the look of ur front in
Get the new updated cam phasers and timing belt, and values, and roller barrings, you have a roller barring problem if you can hear it, and a new oil pump from i think the brand name is melling they have 20 percent more oil flow, gets rid of the 5.3 3v problems
They are great trucks if you can do oil changes and some minor maintenance. If you don’t take care of shit and live up north in the rust belt, go find something else. I love my 07 lariat. 170,000 still runs and looks like new.
Don’t do lockout phasers just get ford updated ones along with all other timing components, melding 340hv oil pump and updated smaller squirter hole roller followers

Get the lock outs. I have 238k on my 2010, lock outs were put on at 96k you were blessed with a good one.

The 4.6 is not as fast but very much more reliable.
If you want to help maintain that 5.4, I’d recommend putting in 5W-30 over the “reccomended” 5w-20
