My understanding is that when you loosen the drain bolt, the overflow is supposed to be a minimal flow - yours was off the charts, confusing. Anyone else agree?
Great vid!! I have the exact same car! I just hit 90k and not sure if the previous owners have done this. I’ll also need to clean out the throttle bodies 👌
There’s a plug in the front/top of the transmission where the fluid drops straight into the pan so you won’t need to force it into the drain plug with a special tool. I used a garden sprayer with the attachment removed and pumped it down the hole into the pan.
BTW, why is your engine running while filling the fluid? You'll never get accurate measurement. Fill it completely, then start the car. Run it through all gears.
At least it's not like some of these newer cars where you need to use a scan tool just to do a drain and fill, but still annoying that they don't give you a fill plug at the top of the trans or a dipstick.
Hey brotha thanks for vid ,I had a question if my cooler lines are leaking am I able to change them without having to take out trans also that the only thing I could think of that would be leaking ive replace the heater hose coupler a couple months back tova aluminum one that's not leaking so I was thinking it has to be those cooler lines ,it's leaking from the passenger side area so that's why I thought it was the coupler hose but it wasn't.also is it a long & expensive job to do . I was thinking of doing it myself. Thanks brotha appreciate any info u may have ..I got 09 g37x
This is very insightful and I appreciate you documenting it. I'm looking at buying a 2012 and was curious what type of work went into doing this. No dipstick is a huge bummer.

So, is there a way you can check your transmission fluid level or not? Bc a lot of cars have dipsticks but I know the 37 doesn’t :/
Done! Thanks bro

Why did so much fluid come out of fill port in the begining
The engineer who designed this should be fired. Total bonehead design
Beautiful helper, thanks for posting!

Excellent video. Not sure I can manage without a lift, but worth a try, what do you think Taz >
