@@ephraimkaravan i don’t know exactly how but I think you drain the fluid attach one end of the pump to the drain and you’d have to pump the exact amount into the car. There are TH-cam tutorials, just make sure you know the exact amount to add. I haven’t done mine yet but I will eventually lol.
I see whats going on here. Once up to temp. Take off the other screw and drain access or add until it comes out. This way you know its where it should be. Excellent video.
Yep is the other screw on the trans pan. This way you can verify exactly. I also drained mine by disconnecting the hoze at the radiator. Turn engine on and put trans in neutral and 11 quarts came out. When it starts to blow air. Turn off engine. Then drop pan and clean thoroughly including the removable magnets. Reinstall pan and magnets Start engine, put in neutral and bring up to operating temp, turn off motor and take out t30 to see if it drains. About 1/3 quart should come out. Note: Trans has to be put in neutral when heating up and car needs to be level. Thats it you are completely done. Fyi imo all these cars that are automatics need trans coolers. Good ones. At 30k my fluid started to brown. Thats is 100% a heat issue. Without heat...100,000 without browning.
Bought my g37x wit 78k and it had been changed twice at the dealer already along with the transfer case and rear diff. I'm at 106 now last time it was done at 70 so I'm thinking I will stick with every 35k changes. Probably best with the way I beat on this bi+
Did you noticed any difference in driving after getting the fluid change? I just did mine at 53k and I noticed some things that my car didnt do before.
Hi PEG, is the car/engine not supposed to be parked to be cooled before working or draining the ATF? I've heard that could fry the gearbox if the engine or fluid was hot.
Id have changed the filter as well, regardless if the screen was clean the element inside will be dirty. Our 2012 G37 RWD has 87k on it and we are going to do this procedure ASAP!!
From experience make sure to take that hex screw first. Mine was stripped as well and was hell to take off too. I ended up buying a new hex screw at my local dealer
That’s all a bunch of non sense you replace about 2/3 of the fluid anytime you do a service it’ll be just fine without wasting money on any more expensive fluid
lol no sorry tyler, do it once and wait a month then do it again, bcz your transmission depending on the vehicle usually holds 10 quarts only half of it is in the actual pan, to flush it out take it to a mechanic or diy by "changing" the oil twice a month apart or less up to you. Also check your oil bcz if you have little bits of metal your gears can slip so id recommend still doing it twice and add some lucas transmission fluid slip fix thatll help it
Did you ever change or drain and add you fluid? I was trying to add new fluid to mine. I have 132k miles but bought it at 116k and don’t know when it’s been changed before that.
what are the torque specs for the drain plug and the fill plug for the pan? I have a 2011 Infiniti G37x. Thank you so much for this video! you saved me hundreds.
Good video. Do you think its safe to have my ATF flushed out with a machine? Infiniti wanted $300 to do it. Other I can just do a drain and refill like you did. But I'll probably use Valvoline ATF max fluid.
Dont do it they will RIP you off tell you 300 for the job but then they say you have to pay for a filter for the flush machine and a bunch of extra bull shit. Not needed just change the fluid every couple of years.flush might cause blockages
Nissan and Infiniti say transmission fluid needs to be changed every 30,000 miles. It should take 6qt as well... this video is not starting off good lol
Spot on Morgan Freeman. Thank you for the guide and nice thorough job.
What I was thinking!
You guys think so? Hope I had his money 💰. Thanks 👌🏿
Great thorough job. I'm going to drain mine at 50,000 miles. Thanks. Lot more complex than changing a 2012 Maxima!
Wen u changed it did u have any problems after and wat kind of oil did u use
I ended it up trading it for a 2016 QX70. My G never shifted right, even with low miles..this 7 speed Q shifts great.
How do you fill your transmission fluid?
Pump

no adding the fluid??
Great detail of the oil pan. Exactly what I was looking for!
Is this in all Infiniti closed systems? I have an M37s
How often is the transmission fluid supposed to be changed?
Great video and details
"Once you get it loose enough you can get your finger up in there."
I'm staying away from that one... 😅
Do you still have the car? Did you encounter any issues with the transmission after this drain and fill?

nice video, thank you. sorry i cracked up everytime you talked about not making a mess and made a mess
Thank you for the details
Would it be beneficial while it's all apart to add more magnetics or bigger/stronger magnets? I wonder
Yes absolutely, the only reason they didnt add more from factory is cost.
where did you get the FILTER KIT from??? i've been looking everywhere and i CANT FIND IT!! at all....
what filter kit? didn't he say there was no filter available? not sure why the video is called filter change
Is this the same transmission that's in A 12 infiniti m37x?
I wonder if it's too late for me to drain mines? I'm at 137000 n I kno for a fact it hasn't been changed...rides good tho.

What state is your shop located in?
Sorry, I now retired.
I noticed you didnt change xmission Filter.. Is it not serviceable?
They claim it's a sealed transmission non serviceable. But definitely drain and flush it
Is it true if the fluid has been changed in a long time ..you shouldn’t changed it ? Mine has 190 kilometres on it and it’s never been done
Is false. I changed mine and nothing has happened. The fluid was very dirty but still had viscosity. Mine was changed at 160k
You cant pump it out you have to use the lower drain plug. Measure what comes out and pump in new fluid threw the fill plug.the smaller higher plug.
Hey I have a quest... Assuming your car had the correct amount when drained how much did you measure that came out?
