Hi Matt, thanks for the nice video unboxing. Canon market their 3-digit DSLR models as intended for entry level users. In practice these cameras are anything but simple to use and are complicated to learn because of their rich feature set, often taking a year or more to master - even for those who have previous photographic knowledge like myself. It has taken me over a year to begin to get comfortable with shooting with my 700D (not much different from yours) and I'm still learning. These models have an extremely comprehensive feature set out of the box. You need to get to grips with basics like aperture, shutter speed, ISO setting, auto focus, shooting modes, white balance, bracketing modes, exposure compensation, menu settings layout and loads more besides. If you need it to be even more feature rich, it's possible to install Magic Lantern firmware on your camera - thus taking it to a whole new level of complication again. As you say learning this technology is great fun though and the concepts are not really very difficult to grasp. The real problems start though, when you are out on a real job - say a wedding. Under the pressure of the event and under the scrutiny of others, it's all too easy to forget the theory and just start doing things the simple (but risky) way. Theory and practice are two very different things. This was also the case back in the days of film. You need to be able to think on your feet out there in the real world. So don't worry if you're finding the 600D a bit heavy going at the beginning.
I was to get a new camcorder, and a new still camera. Looks like you convinced me to just get one, the canon rebel. I was considering the SD90. thanks.
I'm getting a christmas job, so wanting to get a camera to expand on my career opportunities.. would you recommend me getting this or saving for the 700d?
Just want to ask a quick question which may sound stupid. Can i flip the screen around on this camera when taking photos of myself and see what I'm shooting on the screen at the same time?? thanks!
This is the same 600D and KissX5 [Japan], personally I purchased the 600D instead of the readily available T3i, same camera so why? Because "Rebel" in the camera looks cheesy.
the thing i dont get is why people buy dslr's and keep saying they have no idea what all these numbers, apertures, iso's and stuff mean. if you're buying a dslr camera you should know it all before, it makes no sense if you buy something without any knowledge and then, after a while, you find out that's not what you need...
don't use a 42 gb memory card. use a memory card in multiples of 8 gb, 32gb would do. and it must be a class 10 for speed or it wont be able to record long.
Hello, are you familiar with "PhotoSFXart" (just search on Google for it ...)? On their website you can watch a good free video explaining how you can shoot impressive photos. This made it possible for Joe to take photographs that leave you with that jaw-dropping-effect while you look at them. It may help you as well...

I was to get a new camcorder, and a new still camera. Looks like you convinced me to just get one, the canon rebel. I was considering the SD90.

I'm getting a christmas job, so wanting to get a camera to expand on my career opportunities.. would you recommend me getting this or saving for the 700d?
I'm just buying that cam now in 2016 because its my favourite cam out (useing it for vloging and pics )
Great work...un-boxing allows us to check contents and compare with our own purchase...!
Can't wait to see it in action!
It's the same camera. Sold as T3i just in United States, outside of USA it's called 600D.
Just want to ask a quick question which may sound stupid. Can i flip the screen around on this camera when taking photos of myself and see what I'm shooting on the screen at the same time?? thanks!
Yeah this is a awesome camera I'm really enjoying learning how it works :)
This is the same 600D and KissX5 [Japan], personally I purchased the 600D instead of the readily available T3i, same camera so why? Because "Rebel" in the camera looks cheesy.
This was filmed with the SD90?
How do you do your starting credits - they are so cool!
PS, thats a UK power cable actually, round plugs?
What's so good about this camcorder, everyone wants one or has one?
do you work at the gadget show?
is it worth buying the canon t3i
The box of the US (Rebel) version looks so much more badass.
I just googled the Canon XA10 camera and it looks awesome :)
cant decide betweeen d5100 or t3i
wow unboxing it look so pro even the camera itself !
Is the Canon 600D the same as the Canon T3i 600D?
Lisa yess
great video dude it was great, i need this camera
Thanks the camera I am using to record this is the Panasonic SD90 :)
some bodies have 600d on them and some have t3i on them, is there any difference between them?
Im not going to bother buying a flash yet until I need it. I do have a rode mic that will fit on the shoe on the top of the camera :)
What camera do you use to film your videos?
is it a touchscreen??
can you connect an external microphone?
I got a video camera for my birthday. My new camera is a Canon XA10, I am sooo happy with it. I
you should get a battery grip, it lets 2 batteries power it at once.
Thanks I'm loving this new camera :)
does this camera come with a built in mic?
canon 600d inbuilt viewfinder doesn't work when the camera is switched on how do i fix that? it works when its off...
what camera were you using for this vid?
i think that the memory card has to be Class6 or higher in order to achieve the best.
Because I wanted more control and DSLR's have given me that control
that is not a us power cable...
Not sure as I have not looked at all the choices yet
I used the Panasonic SD90 for all my tech videos
Back in 2012 when it was newer would obviously cost more!
the thing i dont get is why people buy dslr's and keep saying they have no idea what all these numbers, apertures, iso's and stuff mean. if you're buying a dslr camera you should know it all before, it makes no sense if you buy something without any knowledge and then, after a while, you find out that's not what you need...
Nice camera Matt! Puts my 300 HS EPLH to shame haha
Donde las venden en México?
How much was it ????
Although unboxer didnt know what the item all about....but i can get what all about he saying...good unboxing....
Its selling for under 400 now on amazon
don't use a 42 gb memory card. use a memory card in multiples of 8 gb, 32gb would do. and it must be a class 10 for speed or it wont be able to record long.
Yeah I always do that now as it sounds better :)
I think you need a class 10 card.
this video is from a year ago mate!
how did you play £600 for it?!
it's £389 in PCWorld!
You might have to wrong class memory card. That would be my guess. Hope i could help you out!
How much is it
i would love to unbox one of these
Yep
Thank you very much, I just subbed to you mate :)
That's not a US power cable
You sound like stampy long head
No I did not buy this at the gadget show.
This is the T3i
Bsides if there round power conecter pins it would have to be ground
Thank you very much sir :)
t4i came out
Hey! could you do a tutorial how you create yourself as a cartoon character as it shown in your intro? Please i'll be the best!..
you probably need a higher class memory card. i use a 16 gb class 10 and can record in the highest quality at 60 fps no problem
you need a faster memorycard. I´ll recommend speedclass 10 or higher :D
can this camera redords video?
Najihah Aleya yesssss
Sorry I never made my intro someone else did.
I just got mine and I don't understand a thing!
mostly your memory is lower than class 6 so its so slow in recording get class6 or higher
if you want longer record ;)
yess
Mine records 10-15 minutes with 32GB SDHC Class10 card, 1080p30.
I want this camera so bad ♥
I cant get it for Christmas but I will get money and then I will add it to the money I have now and THEN I will buy it ;)
no mate
I just need to figure out the settings lol
yeah it is pretty awasome. Thanks for visiting my channel and subscribe :)
Thats a eu powercabel
That was not a US plug! hahahaha
I deserve that camera. You don't even know how to use it lol.
