If your dad was alive he whould leave your mom and take you with him
I was going to say something similar. The dad would be probably be disgusted by his wife
If he was alive she might not have shown her true colors and kept faking being a good person.
"Divorce but Staying Together: Our Story"
if the dad was alive the step dad probably wouldn't exist
"If you're father had been alive, he would be disappointed!" That's a bold claim considering he's the one that left the money for her specifically!
The Father would be proud of daughter not to give away her rightful funds.
He DID NOT trust his wife AT ALL
@@JKGirl90sthey were not married thankfully
Deja que los hijastros se vayan a hacer su vida y ella envejezca a ver si alguno de ellos ve por ella
He literally put a stipulation in his will that not even the mom could touch the money! He’d be scandalized!
Based upon how manipulative her mother is, I wonder if it's not that her paternal family didn't want anything to do with her but her mother alienated them after her father's death and just told her they didn't want to know her.
I kind of wanted to suggest op to contact her dad's lawyer and ask whether or not he knew her dad's family and perhaps asked them whether or not they can meet.
I saw two reddit aita where parents alienate their children from their grandparents over petty/greedy reasons that ends with the grandparents finding out about their grandkids on deathbed.
I know it might be hard like they might be biased and judging, but they're probably op's only 'sane' blood relatives. So to say, just open the door, expect nothing nor accept any that are offered. Just talk.
"Divorce but Staying Together: Our Story"
Yr mom is a BAD person. Just go NC n block her from yr life.
Yeah my mom was very manipulative and kept us from my dad's side of the family and even some of her family for years.
Finally a strory where OP has a spine. I am so glad that OP was able to put her foot down and stand her ground.
She almost faltered unfortunately
@@_juju_jojo_ So true but good thing that the reddit community guided her the correct way and she was able to see things for what they are.
I wish she had made the mother aware of how she felt in the family earlier, but that's about it
"Divorce but Staying Together: Our Story"
Except she only showed a spine when she was already mere months away from leaving home with a pretty easy out to go and live with friends in the intervening months.
I'm a mean petty person so I'd have posted screenshots of all the horrible messages the mom sent after the post went up online too, just to really hammer in for everyone how unforgivable and vile she is.
In a heart beat
Damn mother getting destroyed lol
"Divorce but Staying Together: Our Story"
I would have posted the pictures with no context. People will get their own point from it.
The OP is a bit dim tho.
She says she wants to cut ties and then invites her back into her lfie by making the online post.
Pick a line and stick with it.
If op's father were still alive and witnessed op's mother's behavior, he would divorce op's mother in heartbeat
They weren't even married so..
"Divorce but Staying Together: Our Story"
Well.......
"when a child is rejected by the village they will burn it to feel its warmth"
Wow, the mom only kept her around as a piggy bank. Disgusting!
if a message from another person can ruin your life, that person didnt ruin your life, you did.
If a *true message. It's pretty easy to ruin someone's life with lies in the short-term
Well... what if it's a spouse that texts you that they're leaving you and your pre-teen child because they just met a lover who makes them feel young again and they are tired of being a responsible for a kid for a decade
@@mercuriallily this may sound harsh but still applies. Sounds like both people didn't do a proper screening of their chosen partner and their personalities/priorities on both sides before starting a family (if it's even biologically both of theirs). Sounds likely they were winging it and assuming any glaring issues they had in their relationship would be ignored for the sake of the kid/s (especially with the language being used in the comment, implying not being on the same page about raising children together in the first place). A proper foundation built on hard conversations and choosing the right partner is CRITICAL in anything long term.
It depends
@@obtuse186
Lies can ruin peoples life permanently if they decide to unalive themselves as a result of the consequences.
This has happened to many people falsely accused of crimes.
Birthgiver ≠ mother
OP’s friend & her parents = FAMILY 💯🔥❤❤❤
Facts
I effing LOVE OP here. This is one endgame flex they should be proud of.
It's not your fault it's your step siblings and step mother's fault they're acting like that and they should pay for their actions for doing this to you.
Exactly. Go after the gold digging ex and leave poor op alone. Because it is all her fault she could of saved but didn't.
"Divorce but Staying Together: Our Story"
She has noticed, she just didn't care because it's all about her and her new family while pushing her son off to the side and use him as a financial saftey net when it's convenient.
Op doesn't owe her or her family anything. Move on and leave them behind like they did to op. What goes around comes around.
um , The op is a girl
@@user-bm2gd6we1g
To be fair it's often hard to tell as many of these stories are AI generated and the OP spontaneously changes gender sometimes mid story.
Mom’s one of those people who is going to show up and act like nothing ever happened because she needs something.
I think the mom, didn’t like working in the real world. She like being a house wife and she would do anything to make the new husband happy. Even throw her daughter under the bus
she wasnt the opposite of the step dad's ex, it seems like they were pretty similar
💀
DUDE HAD 18. YEARS ! DUDE HAS NEVER ! EVER ! GAVE A HOOT ABOUT THEIR COLLEGE ! FATHER DIDNT WORK ! SAVE ! SACRIFICE ! FOR ANOTHER MAN CHILDREN
correction, 19 years cuz the kid took a gap year. It's amazing how pathetic that is and he was prob banking on ops money
6 years I think.
The story implies that the golddigging ex wife took all/most of his money save the house they are living in, and perhaps even paying for his share of the house cleaned him out.
Even so it's not a good look when the step son just spent a gap year and apparently has no funds to show for it, and isn't willing to get a student loan.
Why is a person choosing how they spend their money “selfish”? If mom wanted the step kids to have college funds… she and step-dad could have saved some money.
Nta. Glad op has a spine of steel.
Spine of steel?
@@ianmoritzplatapino3684 she didn't bend to her crazy mother and had to guts to look out for herself without bs about family.
Nah she had spine of tungsten and guts of titanium
Tounge of Uranium @@DragonOfTheMortalKombat
I have a feeling that OP would be kicked out at the age of 18 regardless of whether or not she gave away the college fund. Maybe the only reason why that monster of a mother kept OP under her roof all that time, aside from legal obligation, was to get her claws on that money.
Perfect so true. The gap year was honestly to wait for the money to come through. I bet they had told him if they waited the year they can Ops money to cover it
If they are in the states, sperm donor was getting a check every month. Which is the reason she allowed her to stay, also
Mom will come crawling back when Op becomes successful.
Cant wait for that update 💯
It’s hard seeing stories about kids being disenfranchised when their parents get remarried. It makes me feel like remarrying (with dependent children) is just a bad idea.
It's not a bad idea so long as there are no other parents still in the picture, and as long as you are willing to treat those children like part of the family.
In this case though it kinda seems like the step dad would have been on his own if he did so as the mother seems like she was treating her daughter as dead weight.
op if you read this, your mother is dead, as a person ofc, consider her dead and move on, you dont own them anything, she only cares for herself, your dad truly did and is a shame that he passed away when you were young
If your father was still here, he would have divorced. He put your name only on the fund for a good reason. He foresaw what would happen and prevented it altogether.
Go no contact with your egg donor. You do not owe your sorry mother a thing nor do you owe HER family a thing. Move on and reach for your goals.
I’m always amazed by the partners who know their significant others will happily abandon their family after they pass. So they have to take such measures to make sure the money is t wasted or given away to someone else’s family. It reminds me of the mom who died and left everything to her child instead of her husband because she knew he’d give it all to his new wife and kids. And he surely tried. Tried to get his own child to give up house, trust fund, and all other personal items to give to his stepdaughters and wife. It’s crazy how quickly people switch up just so they don’t have to be alone.
If your dad was still alive, your mother wouldn't have a life to begin with.
Weekly shoutout on these kinda stories to remind people to pay attention to children when families blend. It's unfortunately quite common for one of the previous families kids or even both to get pushed out [ if the parents decide to have a new child together ]. This crap needs to be called out ASAP because even if it doesn't change the crappy attitude and lack of love, it can ensure the child(ren) get the required care and attention until they're able to leave.
I’ve been paying attention because it happened to both my husband and I. Disenfranchised as children from a previous marriage when parents remarry. It has forever changed how I view blended families and tainted my view of remarrying with dependant children. I have only seen it go well once. All other attempts have blown up spectacularly. Needless to say if my husband and I do not work out I have decided not to bring home dates or remarry until my daughter is grown up and out of the home. She should not be forced to be subjected to a new person in her life when she is still too young and naive to speak up for herself and defend herself. I have also heard of way too much sexual violence against girls in these situations as well.
The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb
The most hypocritical thing they’ve said is for Op to give up her college fund and give it to their kids, but how would Op go to college then? It’s not like they’re going to pay for Op.
Why are so many mothers so abusive? This is most likely a real story too. It's really getting alarming that so many kids go through mental abuse and end up broken because of it. Hope OP can get her life together and end up making her mom to beg for forgiveness on her knees
lol well they didn’t treat her like family and now they’re surprised that she didn’t want to share what was rightfully hers to people who refused to treat her like family and her mother was manipulative enough to use her dead father as a weapon and I probably would have been crueller and say my father’s parents were right about you weren’t they
"selfish ungrateful brats", as far as I am aware to be ungrateful you need something to be grateful for in the first place
"This decision will cost you everything."
Yea, it could cost Op college and a good education that could give them a good job. While giving the step-siblings the money would just show to the step family they can exclude Op and make Op include them without repricussion.
If OP's Father did passaway when she was so young I wonder if her Mother alienated her Father's family from her
Op there’s a reason why your father never left the money to your mother before he died.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: That which can be destroyed by the truth, should be.
People that disregard their biological children to favor their new spouse or their kids disgust me to my core.
They never bothered to save up money because the mother already told the stepdad that there's money available for that purpose
Eventually. She will realize those are not her kids.
10:01 Should have left a note saying "If you hadn't alienated me, you'd definitely have been seeing that money. Toodles!" Before leaving.
Good thing your dad didn't leave her in charge, she probably would have given the money to the step siblings. Your dad wanted to provide for you so that money is yours to do with as you please.
I’m pretty sure if the dad were still alive he’d be disgusted with his wife and divorce her without even thinking twice. The fact she only kept her daughter around for the money is just disgusting.
13:40 Don't think dad would be too pleased to put another man's children through college with his money so op's mom's guilt tripping rn is ridiculous
Hope even enemies don't get a mother like some of these moms in reddit stories.
I wouldn’t give money to my REAL SIBLINGS let alone step siblings😂…my education is my education. There’s no compromise.
If this is in the US, the OP could get the law in most states to require her to support the OP until she was 18.
It's amazing how the OP's mom said that her decision could cost her everything. It's more amazing she never followed her own advice.
My father chose a woman and her kids over me. If he wants to beg for any help from me in the future, then I want him to publicly announce to the world what he did and apologize publicly too.
"If your father had been alive he'd be disapointed at you for your selfishness"
"No, if dad had been alive, he'd be disapointed at YOU for how you were treating me, and I'd chose to live with him full time as soon as I would be able to impact the custody by my decisions"
I would've emptied the trash bag and hand it back saying ''Here, have your dress back. You need it''
No way. You did the right thing she is YOUR mother not theirs she wouldn’t have kicked you out if she really loved im so sorry ur going through this 😢
You should find their mother/mothers. That way you can get the actual truth.
Apparently mom never thought about how disappointed her dead husband would be to know how she was treating his daughter.
Parents actually often accidentally do this when they remarry… they tend to favor their step-children under the pretence that they dont wanna favour their biological child.
Im not saying it’s okay, but it’s quite common. OP is within her rights to be angry.
MOTHER PROMISED DUDE YOUR INHERITANCE IN ORDER 2. HOOK DUDE !
Honestly, if her father was alive then he would be disappointed in HER MOTHER instead of her
If she was my friend i would have lost it on her mom wtf!
gold digger ex wife but the father can't even have any funds nor the son wants to get loan for his own college? 🤨
Why does it sound like the ex wife was able to get away from a financially abusive household?
It always baffles me how some parents choose the new family than their own child.
Something tells me the father has an idea how things would turn out and that's why the financial set up was given like than. Kudos to the late father for planning ahead for his child.
Anyone else think that it sounds like the grandparents were right about the mom being awful & not wanting their son to be with such an awful woman?
OP should definitely reach out to them as it's more than likely the mom separated their connection & moved away to be sure
Nearly 200 k subscribers telltales 😊😊
This woman really thinks the dead dad would want the money he left for his daughter going towards the mom's new family? The entitlement is insane.
One thing I can never understand why do people want to please they step kids so much they is not going to respect you as their parents😂😂😂
I thought for a really long time I was over thinking it, that my mum loved my half siblings more than me.
But as an adult now she even treats my son worse than my half siblings son, and doesn't even try to hide it.
Run now never look back.
The message the mother sends to shame op about the dad. It's horrible manipulative treatment
Hey atleast your dad's family was right about your mum
It should be against the law to take everything from the husband then leave them penniless then ontop of that giving the kids to someone who is penniless. Thats just awful
The mom:If you father was here he would be disappointed with you!
Me: if dad was still here than you would be single and I'd be with him.
Getting some "...and then everyone clapped" energy from the confrontation at the friends house.
If OP's father was alive the egg donor would have taken a page out the the stepdad's ex wife's book. AKA abandoning OP
I've heard stories like this before where parents demand money for other people in the family to go to college or theu would be thrown out. Given the average college tuition is very high priced they are basically demanding you pay an exorbitant amount of rent. Even studio apartments cost less than the tuition fees of colleges.
I would be taking pictures of the stuff I bought with my money and flaunt it all over social media just to even more annoying towards them
And if your dad was alive he should leave your mother and take you with him
You don't owe them anything!!
If your father had been alive, OP, none of what has happened would have happened. Good Grief, even I can work that out , or was planning to leave him all the way back then? She obviously didn’t think THAT remark/claim through. ‘Nuff said.
"Divorce but Staying Together: Our Story"
Another perfect example of cause and effect. Treat your child like crap, people find out and you get treated like crap. How do people not understand that your actions come back on you one way or another and you wont like it when it does.
If her dad resurrected right now, he'd definitely be disappointed... in himself for being with such a heartless woman.
Even giving the leniency of thinking that the mom's actions are due to grief seeing her late husband in her daughter, I cannot find it in myself to excuse the mom's actions.
Resurrected*
@@taneeshajackson1817 thanks
Moving out is way more better and cheap to get out then to pay someone's college money.
Amazing Dhar Mann script.
If the dad wanted his money to ve used for anything else than the OP's benefit, he would have just given the money to mother with wish that she would use them as she saw best, but he didn't
The last thing your father gave you and they want you to give it away... not a great plan.
"why doesn't my daughter visit me anymore" the mother as soon as she gets up in age
“If your father had been alive, he would be disappointed”
“If dad was alive, you might have been a decent mom”
Time to start packing all of your stuff and move out BIG TIME NTA!!!! Your Mom moved to get away from the people that could hold her accountable for her actions. THis is what she created and SHE can just live with her actions.
Your father knew what was coming. That's why his lawyer was in charge, not your mother. He could have put her over the find.
Well, the law says if it's your money, u can do what ever u want with it, so it your choice
Let's be real, Egg Donor will be back to PLAGUE OP in the future! Notice she hasn't had a KID other then OP in YEARS since she remarried and dotted on Emily because she was FUCKING Emily father! As OP said, their VERY good at pretending she didn't exist. OP Egg Donor will get the SAME degree with "their Father is done using his toy and decides to get a new one!" You know she's going to cry foul after EVERYTHING she believes she did for them! Because as a NARC this isn't suppose to HAPPEN to her! But well I always LOVE watching NARCS turn on each other and the WORSE of them loss out just to see them CRY TEARS acting like they DIDN'T DESERVE THIS!
Being selfish apparently means not being a doormat 🙄
Gaslighting Mom. Keep going NC. Definitely not a AH. Run. And stay safe and far away from their family.
Throw it back in her face. "If dad was alive, how disappointed will he be that you abandoned and hurt your daughter?"
My stepfather did the same thing to his biological children
I would have told her bye!
How can you raise someone to be kind and compassionate when you have no idea what those words even mean or how to apply them in your own life? 😂
In my experience, only 1 of 2 things happens when you are abused by a parent. You gaslight yourself to hell and eventually become the parent, or you can't unsee that your parents are monsters and you leave in pieces but not a monster. You might even be more empathetic and considerate of others because you've seen the dark side. OP is obviously the second option. Mom (who likely had bad parents herself) is the first one.
I wish people would stop referring to these people as family. She’s an egg donor and nothing more. Just because you share DNA with someone doesn’t make you family. It makes you related.
boo hoo for the mom. like her feelings are the only thing that mattered. makes you think why he left all of it to OP.
Why I have a feeling op's dad has a hunch or knew his wife would do that to his kid so made sure she has no hand on his money.
The best thing to do is to ignore all the messages and Mom is giving you and whenever if you believe in God whenever you just need help just take it to the Lord and do not share your college funds with any anyone unless you trust them but
So the mom thought abandoning her child was raising her right? That choosing step siblings over her own child would make her a kind hearted person? What kind of delusion is this insane woman pulling?
👏 YOU 👏 DONT 👏 HAVE 👏TO 👏 GO 👏 TO 👏 COLLEGE!!!
Ive noticed that mothers are far more likely to be responsible for trauma.
Something tells me that her late father's parents might have helped her out
