I love seeing musicians when they get into their music. And of course the sound. Thank you so much. Really nice! Nice jamming song. Lots of room to improvise.
I was thinking the same thing. He needed to move the selector to the top for the neck pickup. Roll of some off some of the treble to warm up his tone for jazz. Sounds too thin. He is playing is amazing, but the tone is too bright.
It's good to see that you are still making that beautiful music that you've always made. May God always bless you and your family for many years to come 😅😅😊🎼🎼🎵🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸👼😇👻🙏🌈🌈
The word I got is that his guitar didn't make the flight as a result of a delay. So he had to borrow the Fender Stratocaster in order to perform. He still rocked it!!!! I love how he hit the overdrive rock pedal towards the end and rocked it out!!!!
Was about ta say wrong choice of guitar, since it sounds much better on his other guitars, the strat is kind of too bright or tinny, for that type of song or maybe roll the tone or treble down on it some since he usually has a clean cut melodic sound on the guitars he usually use
I was 4 when this album came out i thinkit was his first album, i remember saying to myself at 4 one day i wanna be like norman brown well im 34 now and still wanna be like norman brown and marion medows.
Put the jazz guitar back in hand strats are cool but that jazz guitar has Definitely the bite and touch that made the mark sound..all guitars are not made equal..😮😮😮😮😂😂😂😂 they Definitely have their place and Norman I know you know already.. but you gave that Stratocaster a chance😅😅😅😅 thank you for all your music and Jams. Thank God,Thank God. For Him and your ability through Him. Amen.✊🏿✊🏿
That strat sucks! The Michael Singleton was not great. The GB 10 is cool. AND the Eastman was cool. He was endorsing them I don't know what happened. He seems to have trouble "damping" that guitar. Now before you all go crazy, He is one of my favorites and extremely talented. But he does not sound good on that guitar. Now Paul Jackson jr can play the hell out of a Strat.
I use les Paul's or simi hollow body's I can't feel strats and just about everybody uses them I want to sound different even blues I stick with les Paul's simi hollow body's with funk too plus soloing is easy on hollow body's and les paul are easier to me ii think telecasters are better than strats
That Strat must be a pretty exceptional ax all set up tight and nice for Norman to pick it up and play it. . i thought he was into Heritage , Gibson Beniditto. Boy was I wrong!
I feel ya bro ,,, I definitely don’t have a bad thing to say about his playing but I can Tell his drinking is affecting his live performances,, especially when he starts “ Ranting “ about The Universe “ metaphysical conversations right in the middle of his playing …. Also …. alcohol will age you ,,, Norman Brown was born in 1970, but he’s definitely looks older like he’s in his mid 60s … And his oral health is deteriorating his teeth … But overall, I still love the man great guitarist of all time ..
Wow ! That’s the man let’s see him and Ken Navarro thump together stop messing around ? Norman and Ken hmm? Both are masters students of that damn guitar! Just incredible how he seems to be rt on point in a live setting?
Norman is a decent "smooth jazz" guitar player. I'm not a fan of his but I respect him as a musician. That Strat does not suit him well. It sounds very tinny and out of place. I've been a jazz guitarist for over 50 years, play mainly straight jazz these days, and have used many different types of guitars on my journey including Strats. The Strat is not the ideal instrument for this but it can sound close if you know how to adjust it. Along with D'Angelico New Yorker I own a Telecaster that I can get a convincing mellower jazz tone out of. Not sure if Norman wanted to just try something different here but it ain't workin' for me.
FYI he's guitar didn't make the flight. Norman is a GRAMMY AWARD WINNING MASTER GUITARIST and has named one the 50 top gurtarist of all times. Given he does not play a strat he improvised and perfomred magnificently (also battled through brochoticits) during this time as well. Give our man smoe grace, respect and LOVE!!!!
It really hard to understanding what he is saying or singing, the music and the vocal, sounded like they are all in one place. It's way too late now but he sounded like he needed a sound engineered.
No shit!! That Strat, ain't doing it😏 P.s. I'm sure he could have found a better guitar than that, for his particular style. A 335, of any brand would have possibly did a better job. It's all about technique. Playing that strat, brought out his flaws, and lack of musical technique.🤔
The reason I became a fan was his smooth octaves and silky leads on a hollow body guitar which is best for jazz. This is crap ..strat don't sound right on this style plus his sloppy playing like he'd had a couple of drinks. 👺🔥
Is he sitting in using someone else's guitar? Doesn't he know how to change the tone or select the pickups on a Strat? I love Norman Brown, but not on a Strat playing THAT song... unusually sloppy.
@@GaryTisdaleFungkSta1 Right. I have got warm jazz tone with my strat. Neck pickup, and roll off the treble and tone. Plus I use 10 gauge. Sounds like he playing 9's with no treble roll off. Middle or bridge pickup. LOL.
For sure a Strat sound is not his sound . single coil pickups are not doing him any justice , Norman Brown is much more for a PRS humbucker guitar or a AM2000H IBANEZ Thats the real Norman Brown sound . His Playing ??? better every day !!!! Wwooowww
Not sure I like him on the strat. Doesn't sound as good as his regular guitar. He's always great, just don't think the strat is a good fit for his sound. Strats tend to sound very bright and twangy. It takes away from his smooth mellow sound he's known for. Maybe he's just trying it out, I hope it doesn't become permanent.
Anybody who play jazz knows the tone and string and sound is different…..Soo all y’all haters just jealous because he made it and y’all didn’t 😅😅😅😅…Dont hate that ain’t cool..😊😊
I love seeing musicians when they get into their music. And of course the sound. Thank you so much. Really nice! Nice jamming song. Lots of room to improvise.
This is the first time I've ever seen Norman Brown playing a Fender Strat type of guitar 🎸 and as usual, he's magnificent 👌
yea i know
I was thinking the same thing. He needed to move the selector to the top for the neck pickup. Roll of some off some of the treble to warm up his tone for jazz. Sounds too thin. He is playing is amazing, but the tone is too bright.
I don't like the tone of the strat , but Norm's a bad dude 🎸🎸💪
I agree and it is so cool to see Norman masterfully play a Strat and make it SING!!!
GREAT JOB,
...I always believed that people under estimate how good a Strat 🎸sounds on the neck pickup for jazz and blues!
exactly, first time seeing Norman playing an strato fender,! magnifico!
1994........this Magnificent CD put this talented giant on the map!!!
It's good to see that you are still making that beautiful music that you've always made. May God always bless you and your family for many years to come 😅😅😊🎼🎼🎵🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸👼😇👻🙏🌈🌈
He lit that stage all the way up 🔥🔥🔥

Yeah, the show must go on... I think he improvised very well with the strat.
I know he use the Ibanez guitar just like George Benson
I love the resonance with the strat!

I 💯 % agree the Ibanez AF 95 is it.

He definitely needs George's GB 10

@otisconner548 They're my choice as well I'm playing the Ibanez line up G.B 10 George Benson and the Ibanez AF 95
Mr. Brown you represent that Strat brilliantly 🎸
FACT!
Jubu Smith is another master of his instrument
Beautiful💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
That Strat must be a pretty exceptional ax all set up tight and nice for Norman to pick it up and play it. . i thought he was into Heritage , Gibson Beniditto. Boy was I wrong!
Love the compression on that strat
Norman Brown! Colder than Dry Ice!!!
NORNAN BROWM. VIROU STRATERO. RSRSR.PARABENS TOCA MAIS SOLTO ACERTOU DE CHEIO LINDOS TMBLES. PARABÉNS. BRAVO.
Proof right there, some things improve with age.
Surprised seeing him playing jazz on a solid body Fender Stratocaster. Jimi Hendrix would be proud not sure about George Benson tho. 🙂
Norm up there lookin' like Deion Sanders!
Norman is the man and this is my favorite track🔥That Strat sounded terrible though, or maybe it sounded better live.
Dang yall tearing Norman up in these comments. Not my favorite performance but it’s not bad.
That drinking is out of hand, you're slipping bro,😪

Altamente
Those thin strings aren’t working too good. Still love the performance though. Mr Brown!

Not digging NB with a 'Strat' at all. Otherwise it seems like his performance is just off - not just the Strat thing. It actually saddens me...
No shit!!

A strat is heavily used in smooth jazz actually. Heard of nils ? 😂
@@karabovilakazi5021 Nope...Ever heard of Wes Montgomery ❓
This is a fender sound. Not for smooth jazz frontman. Sounds like Hendrix.

Oh wow norm brown playing a strat, It doesn't sound as good as a jazz guitar.
Too bright or trebly, roll off some of the treble or tone, or probably use the neck pickups but still roll off the treble
I've heard players using strats as a jazz guitar but it depends on how you have it set up
@@GaryTisdaleFungkSta1 Right. I have got warm jazz tone with my strat. Neck pickup, and roll off the treble and tone. Plus I use 10 gauge. Sounds like he playing 9's with no treble roll off. Middle or bridge pickup. LOL.
