    If the NFL can feature rap music as halftime "entertainment", why can't they feature true artistry like this?

    • @TheMr007247
      @TheMr007247 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Well, the problem is the NFL is trying to cater to a younger generation that does not respect, exhibit, or value true artistry. Where you are wrong at is that you're confusing today's rap with hip hop. You talk as if hip hop is not artistry. True hip hop is true artistry. Like Dr. Dre, or Snoop Dogg, or 50 Cent (and upcoming Kendrick Lamar), who all performed at the Super Bowl. Norman Brown is around the same age as Dr. Dre. The hip hop artist names I listed (and including Norman Brown), all of them grew up on George Benson, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Motown, etc. But this younger generation didn't grow up listening to anyone, except themselves. The younger generation that are rappers today, they don't even know the history of hip hop, and they have no respect for it.

    Thank you" Stormin Norman" I am so proud to say this man was one of my guitar teachers at GIT in 1989. Not only a master of the instrument, but truly one of the nicest humans you can ever meet!

    I was searching for new music after I moved to Florida for a job. A local jazz station caught my attention and specifically Norman Brown’s music. It felt like a new door into music had been opened. That station also introduced me to Pat Methany, Spyro Gyro, Rippingtons and Pieces of a Dream. It helped me through that part of life.

    In my hometown of Philadelphia, there was a summer concert that was held every year by radio station WDAS called Unity Day from I think 1979 to 2008. I went for the first time in 2000 and I only went to the concert to see Norman Brown perform. He gave a fantastic performance as I expected and he brought out the late great Vesta Williams to sing on his version of the SWV song Rain. Since he put out his first album in 1992 there are few artists in my opinion regardless of the musical genre that have been as consistent as far putting out quality music as Norman Brown 💯

      Yes, he recorded this in late 1993 and it came out spring of 94. This has been one of his biggest trademark songs. Growing up I used to love hearing this on the radio and finally when I was 15 (In 2002) I finally bought the after the storm album and I accidentally found this song that I had no idea who it was lol. I only bought the album cause I was after his instrumental remake version of Janet Jackson's that's the way love goes and when I played this album I just listened to every song from start to finish because it contained so many songs I heard as a kid and never knew who they were by so in my opinion this album was a smash double platinum masterpiece. Thanks Norman and the band for creating this great work of art bro
