I've spent weeks discovering and listening to Norman Brown's music. I purposely held back from watching any live videos of him until I had my time to let it all soak in. I was not disappointing. Outstanding!
First got to say love Norman Brown almost everyday I have Alexa play his greatest hits while I'm doing things around the house. "Just Between Us" in my top ten of songs but with that said at the 8:35 mark the look on the keyboardist face and the way he turn around as to say "Who the f**k is playing those wrong notes..." lmao
@Norman Brown wow thanks for responding I have been following your music for Years. You guys touch peoples lives with your music. Keep it going I hope I have some money to come to a live concert next time You are at Mohegan Sun.
Norman Brown is simply the best rhythm guitarist out there, but this is a bad video. The man is just to good to see without him actually play that awesome guitar!
Hello there, Thank you for sharing! I really like it. This is a great 4K video consider the low light in-door. What lens did you use for this footage? Did you have to break it in two clips since 4K is at 5 minutes limit on recording mode? Thank you!
Thank you Amy, and thanks for your inquiry. It was low light, but outdoor at night. I used the 12-35 and 35-100 f/2.8 II lenses. I shot several short clips in 4K and synch it with the audio, and added photos and video clips to fill the gaps. Hope this helps.
Toxic Tabasco Thanks for the reply. I’m debating whether to get a 12-35 f2.8 or 12-60 f3.5 for travel purposes. I can’t decide if zoom lens is more important or fast lens is more important. Thanks for sharing.
It is that Singleton guitar and that friggin' compressor! I just listened to the old BET show and his tone was smooth, round and even. I have had suspicions about that guitar ever since I first saw it. It give an unpleasant "edge" to his sound. He could possibly want it that way (don't know why). That guitar has some active electronics in it. I am not hating. I think it is a gorgeous instrument. Just not crazy about the sound. I love the dude. Steal all his licks, etc. But of late . I am not crazy about his live videos. And I admit to being extremely picky!
Been a lifelong fan, just seen him in St Louis & I've got to agree, the tone was wrong and it had a 'fuzzy' edge to it, not a clean sound at all... really disappointed. Kicked off with 'Spirit Power' which is such a great track, but unfortunately not live. And why hand over half your set to guest artists, as good as they may be I went to see NB... he probably only did about 6 numbers.
The greatest jazz guitarist out there right now.
I JUST downloaded his album “The Highest Act of Love”. Every song is great. He was inspired to write this beautiful music!

Love the way #NormanBrown kicked the set off with #IsaacHayes #Shaft…then transitioned into his own composition! Brilliant! #MikeJohnsonJazz 💞🎸✨
That would be an awesome show to see.

@Norman Brown text to?
Looking forward to seeing him at the Long Beach Jazzfest Ca.8/10/2019🎸🎶🎵🎼
Crediting the supporting musicians should be the default. Who are the musicians?
He was def dissed in the mix in the first tune hence why he asked. Keyboards were blaring. Sounds like it may have been corrected 2nd tune

This is an impressive video. What brand of camera did you use. I love your editing too. Good job.
Thank you PrekeseGiron. I used the Lumix G9 for the video.
@@toxictabasco Beautifully done! Luved it..
Norman didn't appreciate that keyboardist chating.
Just perfect, but please tell your drummer on that first track to stop riding open hi hats so I can hear everyone.
Coolio
It’s really safe, they don't play live.
not the Norman I heard!
I wish Norman took more pride in getting a great live tone. Always so inconsistent.
