Differencial lock (rear, mid, front) is an option on some car brands/models (including the Tiguan), that means that if you don't know that, you could end up testing a model that has NO differencial lock and it WILL fail. That's the only thing that will make a difference with those tests. Nothing to do with tiguan I or II or anything else. No matter what car, brand, modell, as long as it is AWD WITH 3 differencial locks (rear, middle AND front), it WILL succeed. So this test is useless, because the only thing you need to know is whether there is differencial lock and if yes, is it a rear lock, mid, front, mid + rear, mid + front, rear + mid + front, etc. For this reason, these tests are useless except for entertainment. So I can say it is funny to watch this channel, but for entertainment purpose only. Because we don't even know what options every car has, so these videos don't show/proof anything excepted that no diff lock fails, 3 diff locks win. That's all budy. As soon as you know that, it becomes boring watching those videos because this is a nonsense. A friend of mine has the modell without diff lock and mine does have it. It makes all the difference on rollers. His fails, mine succeeds. That's all folks.
1. Tiguan doesn't have any diff lock. 2. Tiguan doesn't even have center diff but a clutch-pack. 3. Diff locks are not needed at all to pass these tests. Well tuned traction control is needed. 4. Traction control (and similar systems) is standard in every modern car. But they do not work the same. Especially if cars are equipped with driving modes. That is a thing to test. 5. Apparently you have no idea what are roller tests about - this will help you to understand: th-cam.com/video/ntxgFjaX9HM/w-d-xo.html
@@ArsenicShooter So like I said - no diff lock, not a single one. EDS ain't a locker, that's just a brake traction control system. And that's exactly what is put into the test here. XDS is same brake based system but for cornering performance.
Одиноково работает трансмисия. Зачем в старом кузову увеличенный звук двигателя? Это работает на подсознание, что ему тяжелея (мое субьективное мнение).
Allways put a full size matching spare tire in the back... Or maybe just learn that there are limitations of active control in tiguan II. In my opinion Snow mode offers better traction because it upshifts earlier. Off road mode lags behind because it adds manual control of shifting via Tiptronic. In any case, very good example how not to accelerate in this vid. What specs do tested cars have? In my experience 150HP DSG performs better than 190HP DSG because of different DSG boxes. 190HP uses older (sturdier) DSG box from Tuareg that lags behind by quite a margin in tiguan II.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers A thought on my acceleration comment: Offroad mode Turned on disables ESC (ASR and EDL) automatically. There is also button next to mode dial to switch manually (1 second for ASR, 3 seconds for EDL). Sport mode also can switch it off. What I am missing in your vids is what the driver is doing, and what the car. It seems that traction control has not activated and that driver is manually pushing the pedal. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I would expect that traction control should take over the power to the wheels even if driver floored it. EDL should break the spinning wheels and give the power to the wheel on the ground. That is my understanding of how 4motion should work. What I am seeing in your videos is lots of spinning on all wheels. It seems that driver is giving power (not traction control) and at some point 4motion delivers enough power and the vehicle snaps from rollers. Don't make it wrong, your vids are great, only missing is a bit of technical description what is actually happening during and why.
@@JanezPregrad EDL/traction control is for sure not turned off, no matter what mode you choose, otherwise car would not get off the rollers. Drivers are informed to keep accelerator pedal on constant level or increase it if nothing is happening. Very often the system is changing the wheel spin and very often it is interpreted as driver input.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers I agree, but I also assure you that as soon you switch dial to Offroad mode, you get ESC off indication light on dashboard. What that actually mean is not written in owners manual but in service training manual on page 38: "Later intervention of Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and the traction control system (TCS)". Its confusing....
TC is always on and it cannot be deactivated. Besides it's necessary to be active as front and rear diffs are open. Wheels didn't slip, there's enough space for tyres.
Fake !

@@4x4.tests.on.rollers In Switzerland I had to choose the option with diff lock.
@@ArsenicShooter Which generation of Tig, which diff and what kind of locker?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers Tiguan 2.0 TDI 240 R-Line, Gen V multiplate Haldex Clutch System and EDS with XDS extension.
@@ArsenicShooter So like I said - no diff lock, not a single one. EDS ain't a locker, that's just a brake traction control system. And that's exactly what is put into the test here. XDS is same brake based system but for cornering performance.

Mk2 looks a lot more balanced
nice car but expensive :((
Did you turn off tiguan ii esp?
th-cam.com/video/cYzmz8kCMWg/w-d-xo.html
If you turn off esp of tiguan II like this video, will it come out well?
No, Tiguan II has driving modes so everything should be automatic.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers thank you!!
ESP OFF?
Igor ON in all attempts.
🤣🤣🤣
What's so funny?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers Its Funny the older VW seems to perform better than the newer.
2.0 TSI - 180 HP, 2.0 TDI - 140 HP.
Very good example how not to accelerate? So how should you accelerate?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers Like a christian, with forgiveness ;)
What that actually mean is not written in owners manual but in service training manual on page 38: "Later intervention of Electronic Stability Control
(ESC) and the traction control system (TCS)". Its confusing....
Just turn off the traction control and floor gas pedal! Easy!
And 1:47 rear wheels slips to the left and get traction on the side of the rollers!!!
TC is always on and it cannot be deactivated. Besides it's necessary to be active as front and rear diffs are open. Wheels didn't slip, there's enough space for tyres.
