    Weakened Line Costs You $ In Lost Tackle
    Consider this: If your main line breaks, how much does it cost you to re-rig? I totaled up my current drifting rig at retail prices:Sinker Slider: $0.58
    3oz Swivel Weight: $2.75
    Swivel: $.11
    8/0 Circle Hook: $1.43
    =TOTAL: $4.87

    I'm 63 and have used this rig most of that time but I cut the sinker line about 8in from the swivel and tie it together with a square knot . Makes breaking the line a sure thing

      It really is. Fishing in the coosa is where it comes thru our property is a nightmare. I've lost so many rigs getting snagged on the rocks that it's criminal. This is a great idea.

    That's an excellent rig and I've used it for years. When I was a kid sinkers, especially large ones, came dear but we had a pretty much limitless supply of old spark plugs and bits of rusted metal in usable chunks. We used many an old spark plug or scrap iron harnessed or bagged to make a sinker. Used old socks, feed bags or anything else to make a sinker bag. I've even used rocks from the bank.

Awesome idea of using vacuum line to space the rattles out much more cost effective and line protection.I also like how you added 2 rattles I will definitely have to try 2 instead of 1. I’m from Warsaw Missouri area I use that style of rig on Truman reservoir and lake . I Also fish Mississippi River in Alton dam on the Missouri side and in Washington Missouri access. I e fished a 3 way rig similar to that before but never with the rattle system. Are the rattles buoyant? Are they very productive if you don’t have much current flowing? I’ve never used a rattle system except for bass fishing but I’m interested.

    • @FishinNFreedom1776
      @FishinNFreedom1776  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for checking out the video.. even if there is not much current those rattles still make a racket, and they do really seem to get the fish's attention and get more strikes. I have no data to back that up but from personal experience and hearing others in the Catfish world that I respect, that seem to be the case. Alot of folks won't fish without them. They are slightly buoyant, which helps to some degree to keep your bait up off the bottom. Give em a try let me know if you have any luck or notice any difference. Thanks again

    • @FishinNFreedom1776
      @FishinNFreedom1776  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @MRCristLE-r that would really depend on what fish are you targeting and it what waters. Like are you fishing lakes or rivers with current? That would determine what kind of basic gear I would recommend such as rods and Reels.
      You may not need big reels with tons of line capacity and drag if you are mostly gonna be catching channel cats and small blues ect.. if you are gonna be in heavy current and there are big blues and flatheads then you will need to get something a little more beefy that can handle those situations.
      Tell me a little about where and for what you are fishing. That will also determine what kind of terminal tackle you will need too..

    • @FishinNFreedom1776
      @FishinNFreedom1776  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Dan, first thanks for checking out the video! I have had the same thing happen when making channel cat rigs or dragging rigs with 50lb leader line
      Berkley big game to be exact. I noticed when I use bigger leader I think it gives a little more for the line to bite onto. Like 80lb or in the river I use 100lb leader. May try just going up a little on line size see if that helps.
