I have several dahlias that I’m interested in growing, wannabees, Spartacus and croydon masterpiece. I have had a love affair with dahlias for 21 years. My very first one was called “lilac time” and I had several that made a dramatic show. Everyone who walked by my garden commented on how beautiful they were. It is such a delight to grow flowers and I can’t wait for the snow to melt so I can get back to the garden. Thanks for sharing your dahlia purchases and I can’t wait for you to show us your dahlia blooms. God bless!
Thanks Debbie. 🥰 Lilac Time is a wonderful dahlia to start with and it’s setting the bar high. I think you’ll enjoy Spartacus a lot, it’s just wow. It’s so amazing how year after year we can still fall head over heals for these amazing flowers.
Beautiful selections. I'm most excited for American Dawn. I fell in love with it at a roadside stand in Sequim, WA a few years ago and finally will be trying it this year in my own garden.
Very excited to see the "after" video for all these beauties that you will grow this year. I am someone who get plants first and makes space for them later. While all these varieties are lovely, I love valley porcupine, sweet nathalie, KA's mocha lady and KA's mocha jo. They will be beautiful to gaze upon in a garden and in a vase indoors.
I will for sure make a follow up / how’s it going video for all these. We will have a busy but colorful summer. Btw, I am just like you, get plants now and make space later. 😂 some days I look around and I see plants in every corner, then I tell myself, everything will have a place and it’ll look beautiful. 😍
This year will be my first year growing flowers in my tiny tiny tiny backyard and I am so in love with dahlias!! Not sure what variety I’m going to get because I’m so indecisive but I only have a little space so I know I have to pick wisely 😅. Y’all pray for me! Love your channel 💕💕
I started cuttings last year from 4 tubers I bought from Walmart and I was able to get 18 plants from those cuttings! I had asked you for advise about the cuttings then, and I was more than amazed to learn that cuttings are so so easy start! I only had 1 dinner plate variety bloom but the others had stalks so I’m hoping those will come back this year and have buds! 😍 thank you for always being so helpful!

First time growing Dahlias last year and I am hooked! I also ordered tubers from Swan Dahlias and other small farms. I love your videos! Can’t wait for Dahlia season!!
I'm completely new to dahlias. I ordered a variety of tubers from Brent & Becky's because they were very affordable. So I am most looking forward to all of them, because they're all new to me. 🙂
Those are some stunning varieties you have there Claudia! My experiment with overwintering them in my raised beds flopped and they all rotted out. Of course I have plenty replacements and I dare say they are waaaay better than the first group. So excited to get them all going for this season!
Yay!!! I think the very first year I grew them I left them in the ground but it was super wet that winter and I lost all of them. I was so discouraged but I was also happy because all of the ones I had bought were the same variety which I think that was just a mistake from the grower I bought them from. Anyways it’s nice to experiment, you’ll never know the outcome until you try. Which one are you most excited about? 😍
I love dahlias! They look elegant and are so beautiful! Love all the varieties featured in the video. This is my first year growing them. Excited to see the grow and bloom!
Nice introduction of the Dahlias. I have not gotten one yet. But I sure would like to try one. I really like the „porcupine“. Love the color and shape! Happy growing!
Hello! Thank you so much for your generosity! I loved Penhill Watermelon last year! It was such a beautiful color. This year I am hoping to add more white/cream Dahlias.
i have been in love with dahlias for a while. i would like to try powder-puff and contraste . they are so beautiful to me. cant wait for it to warm up and get started planting. loved video!
This my second year to grow dahlias. I found one called miss Amara that I am super excited for. Cause one of my daughters is named Amara. Can’t wait for this year. Hoping to improve my growing skills. Happy to have found your channel!
I love dahlias! I grew valley porcupine last year and loved it! Last year my favorites were penhill watermelon, American sun, Colorado classic, Sherwood peach and ofcourse cafe. I'm excited to grow labyrinth and many different ball types this year. thanks for the fun video
I just adore dahlias but unfortunately, my first year attempting to grow them last year was an epic fail (due to severe weather 😪). I am trying again this year and I am the most excited about the Ivanetti. I just love the dark color and am 🤞that it works out this year. I loved this video! ❤
Thank you for watching. I’m so sorry to hear that. Weather has been a challenge for me this year. I just started to put out our first dahlias because of weather and it’s been a roller coaster. Was it too much or too cold for you? What happened?
Wonderful video and so informative. Love all your videos. My favorite dahlia for last year was My Hero. Stunning dahlia that bloomed continously and every flower was the same. Not fazed by the heat, non stop rain, high winds and even hung in there during the first frosts. Can't wait for it to bloom this year again. I even bought another tuber in case the tubers from last year didn't make it.
Those cuttings that you ordered: just wow!! I’m so excited to see updates on them growing and flowering!! I really wish there was a reputable Dahlia seller here in Uruguay!! 😖 I’m sticking to seeds for now, until they bloom and I can see what flowers they have.
Im so excited for them. 😍 I will most definitely share updates. Seeds are so fun. They are a complete surprise and you know what, you could just get something so magical that no one ever seen.
While I adore Cafe au Lait, Castle Drive also is in the same range of colors, but with a smaller bloom, making it better for bouquet building. In a completely different color group, Maxime is breathtaking! Thank you for sharing your sources. I have also purchased some varieties that I just cant wait to see in bloom for the first time this year: Peaches and Cream, Shiloh Noelle, and Silver years, among others. I will be expanding my dahlia beds to include about 300 plants this year, and am constantly finding new ones to put on the wishlist for next year!
Thank you for the inspiration to grow more dahlias! Last year my favorites were Karma Chocolate, Bashful and Crichton Honey. This year I'm planting Santa Claus, Tartan and All That Jazz. Can't wait to see the beautiful blooms! Love the tours of Swan Island, what a great farm. We can never have too many dahlias!
There’s a few varieties I’ve waited a few years to get my hands on like Appleblossom, Bracken Rose Castle Drive and Valley Porcupine that I’m excited to grow, but overall I’m the most excited to grow the very coveted Bloomquist Blush! I never buy yellow dahlias, or any kind of yellow flower, but this dahlia is just spellbindingly beautiful 😍
I am really hoping to grow some Wizard of Oz dahlias this year! They are so soft and gorgeous; they add the perfect pop of color to a sea of greenery! 🥰 I am very new to growing dahlias so I have been soaking up as much knowledge from you as possible to be prepared!
Thank you so much Rachel, that makes me happy to hear. I’ve spent a lot of time learning, taking Floret’s course, I just want to share everything I know with you guys. I can’t wait for Wizard of Oz too! 🤩
@@InTheGardenWithClaudia I so appreciate you sharing your knowledge! I feel like I know a drop of information from a massive ocean of knowledge and tools but I am happy to start somewhere and learn from you! :)

This will be my 2nd year growing dahlias, and I can't wait to plant all my new dahlias. One I'm very excited about is called 'Isabel' and it's a beautiful pink
This is my first year growing several varieties. I have been watching your dahlia videos to see what one was the most prolific. I am excited to grow Alamode and ac ben this year.
HI Claudia! Love your videos and the dahlias you pick are so incredible. I chose some off your spreadsheet from last year. I'm so excited for all mine this year, hoping all my tubers make it but some are looking iffy at this point (shriveling). I have sprayed the vermiculite but just keep spraying and keeping fingers crossed now. My new ones coming in this Spring, that I have not tried before, are Cornel Bronze, Break Out, Old Rose Mix from Eden Brothers (Caitlin's Joy, Muchacha, Bacardi, Night Silence, Beatrice), Henriette, Apple Blossom, Wizard of Oz and Thomas Edison. I know I have more coming but can't recall what at the moment, I may have over done it lol. Last year, where mine grew in partial shade and did fine in the hot (just outside of) Nashville area here in 7a. So they didn't start blooming till mid-to late august, but when Sept. and Nov. hit they went crazy. I do want to say, I truly believe that you can love any of them, there isn't one I dislike. I do however love some a bit more than others, but aren't they all wonderful? :)
Anissa, I am so excited for for all the beautiful ones you got, and I am so happy you took some from my list! I also wanted to congratulate you because you were selected as one of the winners to a gift card! Please just confirm you are subscribed, and e-mail us your information to our email address: coasttocoasthomeandgarden@gmail.com. 💕
Thanks for sharing some of the dahlias you’ve purchased for this year. I will be putting a lot of these on my wishlist! I can’t wait to see how they grow for you. This is my second year growing dahlias and I haven’t decided which one to grow for this year. So many to choose from!
Ugh that is true! It’s hard to chooseI just keep telling myself, one day you’ll have a lot land and space and you won’t know what to do with them all. 😆
I am so excited about growing dahlias this year! I tried to get more fall colors while I was ordering from Swan Island for the first time. I can't wait to see Maarn because it reminded me of a true pumpkin orange! I also ordered one of Swan Island's fall collection of tubers! I just checked on my tubers I have in storage and I think they are doing okay. Some had a slight give to them, others felt nice and firm. I am using wood shavings to store them in. I gave them a nice spritz of water when I looked at them. Excited to see your new dahlias grow on too! By the way, I loved your 5 minute Friday last week! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much Vickie!! You are going to love Maarn! I loved pairing it with darker colors, and it has the perfect shape! Also, thank you so much on the feed back on five minute Friday! I am always open to suggestions, and am happy they more and more people are enjoying them. 🥰
Happy to see this and learn about your upcoming varieties and why you're looking forward to this/that particular variety. I also follow KA and you are so right about supporting her. She is incredably generous with her tips and information- such fun watching her IG. I too enjoy the pale palette that you spoke about but really became attached last season to the darker/almost black vareties. Looking forward to Bloomquist Richard and Kenora Macop B in 2022. Love your infectious energy- I won the marking pencil last year- great tool
You have chosen so many beautiful varieties this year!😍 I am new to growing dahlias (this upcoming season will be my 2nd year) and I am most excited to grow and see Mikayla Miranda.
I really enjoy your videos, my favorite is the tour of Swan Island Dahlias. I watch it when it is snowing here in PA. I hope you can do another one this year. I ordered from SID for the first time this year, thanks to you for introducing me. I can’t wait to get my tubers. I ordered bluetiful, cafe au lait, maki, boogie nights, little Scottie and cha Ching. Bring on Spring!!
That makes my heart smile, I love watching those two tour videos on their farm, we will for sure go again. Maki produces huge blooms, you’ll love it! 💜
I have ordered so many dahlias this year. I’m so excited to get growing! A few I’m still looking to get are diva, jitterbug, cupcake, mystique and Nicholas.
I already ordered mine in November just a waiting game now!😀I already have dahlias seeds sown too innside the one I grew them last year, I’m so excited!
Sooo many dahlia varieties I’m excited for this year😍 Returning stars: 20th Ave Softer Peach, Hollyhill Pink Pearl, Hollyhill Bashful, Bloomquist Blush, Bloomquist Dave, KA’s Rosie Jo, Crazy 4 Don, and Askwith Minnie Most excited newbies 2022: Bloomquist Mojo, Bloomquist Summer, Bloomquist Azalea, westerton Pearl, Westerton JWH, KA’s Keltie Cherry, KA’s boho Peach, Copper Boy, and Hollyhilll Pollyanna. I have over 80 new varieties for this year on order. The dahlia craze and obsession is real😍 will be at over 150 varieties for this year.
Missing my dahlia babies! Can’t wait for dahlia season 🤍🌸 Excited to try Castle Drive, Sweet Nathalie, KA’s Boho Peach, and Chrichton Honey this year (among many others!) 🤗
I’m excited to grow single dahlias, I have clay soil and the struggles to keep them healthy are challenging. (OMG) I like to compare them to my autoimmune disorders.( positive mindset & perseverance)
This will be my first year growing dahlias. I ordered from Eden Brothers and Midwest Dahlias. I am most excited about Gerrie Hoek a waterlily dahlia pink with yellow center. Also Tahiti Sunrise a cactus dahlia bright red and yellow.
I did a mixed pack of seed last year...all of them Grew, all of them Bloomed! It was incredible! I was shocked to have one Red and one that was like Scarlet Pimpernel...the rest were mostly whites and very pale pinks! They were so much Fun! I am Zone 8a, in NM...we get to leave them in the ground! :) Thank you for Sharing! How Exciting...I need more reds, and the Scarlet color is so fascinating...like an red-orange! ...like Pimpernel! LOL
Awesome video. Tried to get some of those KA’s dahlias but got got sold out 30 seconds after they opened the online store. Got me some sweet love and ivanneti tho. Cornel might be the perfect red I’ve been looking for. David Howard was sold out everywhere but still managed to get two tubers. Also creme de cassis is finally mine. Got some cuttings myself. I’ll cry probably when they get here!!! So excited.
Second year with dahlias. Last year I didn't know what a dahlia was. Now I do! Lol. I got a few of the same ones you mentioned! I was going to get the ka's tubers but haven't been able to get my hands on them yet. I was able to get my hands on sweet Nathalie, and peaches n cream which was the hardest one I was able to get. I've been eyeing Innocence and wizard of Oz, so funny you mentioned them. I guess I'll have to get them. Lol hopefully! Thank you for sharing your list and can't wait to see them blooming!
Yay Rosa!!! We all have a similar story with these flowers… We didn’t know much about dahlias but then you grow some and boom, you’re addicted! You will not be disappointed with the ones you ordered, especially Peaches M Cream! 💕
Wizard of Oz is a really short plant (usually 3ft, 3.5ft max). Stems aren’t the longest either. I grew it the last 3 years, but it’s not coming back this year just due to plant growth😭 loved the color and shape of the bloom, I’ve just found ones that are similar and better.
This was my first year ordering dahlia tubers. I chose to order from Swan Lake. So many beautiful choices but I'm budgeting and chose 2 ( yes only 2 😭). I'm happy with my decision, I chose Daydreamer and Black Satin. Can't wait!
Don’t forget Nadia, when you dig those two up, I’m sure you can divide plenty more tubers off them. Next thing you know, you’ll be looking for more space, not tubers. 😂 I’m so excited for you. Good luck.
Most of my tubers have come from Swan Island, as I love to visit them when in bloom. I have several on order. The one have been trying to get is Gitts Perfection. I am trying raised beds this spring and am super excited about that. I love your vlogs so full of good information. I am going to visit Cornell Farms.
Thanks Kathe. I love sharing. 😊 I think you’ll enjoy the raised beds. It definitely makes the process of harvesting dahlias flowers and tubers much easier. Let me know how Cornell Farms works out.
Those are beautiful dahlias. I grew shiloh Noelle last year and she stole my heart. I give a way free flowers on Sundays last summer and dahlias were a hit! I'm hoping to try a few more varieties this year.
Emily, Lilac Time is BEAUTIFUL! I showed it in a garden tour and it was honestly one of my favorites. I was super impressed at how large the blooms were considering the plant stays on the smaller side. You’re going to love this one! 💜
This is my first year to really grow dahlias. I’m so excited!! I’m #floretclassof2022 and starting the adventure of flower farming. The dahlias I am most excited about growing this year are Labyrinth, Sandia Brocade and KA’s Cafe Mauve. Loved this video and learning about some of the varieties I haven’t seen yet. These are such gorgeous flowers and I’m already addicted.
I saw oh honey at the Tacoma trial garden last year and it was a nice one. This season I’m looking forward to growing Ferncliff Dolly, I ordered it back in September from Ferncliff gardens in Canada to make sure I would have it.
Thank you for sharing beautiful videos. I really enjoy watching your channel. This year I am looking forward to try enchantress and spoiled rotten dahlias.
Thank you so much 😊 That means a lot. Those are excellent choices, but then again, these are dahlias, you can’t go wrong with any, right? If you have any suggestions or want to see more of something, please do mention it. I love sharing.
I just have a question for you if you have time. I made my first SID order and I ordered about 10 different dahlias. I ordered 1 of each variety and now I am second guessing if I should have ordered more than 1 of each variety. Will it look nice with 1 of each variety and have several different varieties or do you find that it looks better to plant several tubers? Space is not that big of an issue for me. Thanks so much !
I’ve been gardening for about 12 years but last year was my discovery of dahlias. They all rotted at the end of the season so I went quite crazy and ordered a ton from swan island and Eden brothers. I’m looking forward to cafe au lait royal and rose. 💕
I just came from your swan island tour and I felt the intensity of excitement that you had while walking from dahlia to dahlia! It’s my first time to plant flowers and I chose dahlias. I ordered cafe au lait, gay princess and foxy lady in Oct. Almost everyday I would go to different websites and go over the all the dahlias on all my wish lists. I will work really hard to get sheer heaven, breakout, Maarn and karma choc next season. Can’t wait for these flowers to grow in my own garden!!!! - Zee, N. Cali zone10a
Im in love with dalhias. Started to grow them 2 years ago. All of them were store boughton. So i dont know any of them names. But 1 called blue boy. I found seed an going to try them Have you planted any from seeds? If you did how did it go? Did you end up with bulbs?.
Wanda growing dahlias from seeds is so exciting!!! I absolutely have grown them from seed and they do produce tubers for the following year. Remember when you grow from seeds you’ll never know what type of flower you’ll get, but once they develop tubers you can you plant them again the following year and they’ll be that exact same flower. You should totally try it, I think you’re going to love it.
I also ordered Cupcake. I ordered KA's Kelty Rose and KA's Rosey Jo from Stonehouse :) I'm so surprised you didn't get Tipsy from Swan Island. It reached out and grabbed me.
I’m in love with KA varieties at the moment and can’t wait to grow my collection. Have you ordered From Stonehouse before? Tipsy is beautiful and will make its wait into my garden 😉.
@@InTheGardenWithClaudia I have. I recommend planting first into a pot for a couple weeks/month and then out into the garden. They require a close watch on moisture as they do need more than tubers...but don't like being soggy.
I completely agree Rhonena!! There’s so much to learn, I am here to help. 🤗 I CANNOT wait for KA Mocha Katie! It has such a unwise antique look to it, it makes me smile every time I see pictures of it.
Hi, I watched your channel for awhile. I’m a dahlia lover too. I have some varieties like yellow dark red magenta and mix yellow and red mix pink and yellow and also grew from seeds too they are so beautiful but I don’t have this varieties ok , will be my selection for this year! Hopefully I’m the one you pick 🤞🥰
Good day aloha .... This is my second year of growing dahlias ... I always watch your videos... Emory paul Even I have a small space to grow dahlia still I love the flower
I did! We announced on the community page. I am still trying to reach one person. If I don’t hear from them, we will select someone as the third winner. 💕
I love how you light up when you talk about your dahlias.
Omg. That made my day. 🥰 Thank you Melissa.

This will be my first year growing dahlias. I'm most excited about peaches n cream! I hope to get KA's Bella Luna for next year.
🥰 KA Bella Luna is gorgeous. I love the delicate pop of lavender. Btw, you’ll love peaches n cream, it’s such a breath taking color.
I’m right there with you, I can’t wait. This year will be amazing. I love mystique and nicholas. Definitely will be great additions to the garden.
I'm so excited to grow some peachy, pink and white varieties this year. Especially sweet Nathalie and my first cafe au lait.
I already ordered mine in November just a waiting game now!😀I already have dahlias seeds sown too innside the one I grew them last year, I’m so excited!
This will be my third year growing dalhias I love the ones your getting of cuttings too. Happy dalhias darling😀
Aww thank you Shantelle!! I am so eager to get them planted! 💕
Sooo many dahlia varieties I’m excited for this year😍

Most excited newbies 2022: Bloomquist Mojo, Bloomquist Summer, Bloomquist Azalea, westerton Pearl, Westerton JWH, KA’s Keltie Cherry, KA’s boho Peach, Copper Boy, and Hollyhilll Pollyanna.
Love your video. My favorite dahlias I grow are Innocence and Ms Molly.
LOL
I tried cuttings...I failed! I would be fearful until I know I can do it successfully! Goodluck! For that price I would cry!
@@InTheGardenWithClaudia Will do. Thank you for mentioning them.
They are all so beautiful! So excited to grow Sweet Nathalie this year!
Ahhh!! Me too!!
Those are beautiful dahlias. I grew shiloh Noelle last year and she stole my heart. I give a way free flowers on Sundays last summer and dahlias were a hit! I'm hoping to try a few more varieties this year.
Aww that’s so nice! I have grow that variety but I’ve seen pictures, she’s a beauty. 😍
She's extremely beautiful at night
This is the first year I have grown dahlias and I grew Peaches and Cream!
Excited for lilac time. I’m also anxious to see if my tubers overwintered ok!
Emily, Lilac Time is BEAUTIFUL! I showed it in a garden tour and it was honestly one of my favorites. I was super impressed at how large the blooms were considering the plant stays on the smaller side. You’re going to love this one! 💜
Sweet Nathelie is definitely on my list for next year.
I love dahlias! I have peaches n cream coming this year.
@@InTheGardenWithClaudia Garden rose tour! 😍
Okay good to know. We have a rose garden in our city with thousands of roses, I will make sure to take you on a tour of it this year. 💕
I love growing dahlias. I am can't wait to see my Cafe au Lait.
What gorgeous varieties!! I’d like to try Break Out and Peaches N Cream, those two top my list….for now. 😉
Oooh I love Break Out. It reminds me of Cafe au Lait, but with fluffier petals. 🤩
- Zee, N. Cali zone10a
I’m excited for all the seed dahlias I’ll be starting. Along with Crazy 4 Jessie!
Im in love with dalhias.
Started to grow them 2 years ago.
All of them were store boughton. So i dont know any of them names. But 1 called blue boy.
I found seed an going to try them
Have you planted any from seeds?
If you did how did it go?
Did you end up with bulbs?.
Wanda growing dahlias from seeds is so exciting!!! I absolutely have grown them from seed and they do produce tubers for the following year. Remember when you grow from seeds you’ll never know what type of flower you’ll get, but once they develop tubers you can you plant them again the following year and they’ll be that exact same flower. You should totally try it, I think you’re going to love it.
New to the channel! My daughter and I are going to try dahlias this year
Welcome. It’s great to have you here. ❤️ How are the dahlias coming along? I love it when other gardener’s get hooked on dahlias.
I love dahlias. I cannot wait to grow Mikayla Miranda I have heard it is so productive. Thank you for the videos.
So very pretty...I would love to add some to my garden 😀
I’m pretty excited for them! 💜
Most excited about Jowey Winnie!
Yes I love Dahlias. ♥️
One word, wow
Thanks for sharing your love of dahlias, I didn't have good luck with mine last year but I'm going to try again, it would be great to win the giveaway
Thank you for a great video. I would like to know how to overwinter dahlias grown from a cutting, thank you
I'm would love to try valley porcupine, beyond, and cupcake more for the name lol
Really looking forward to a cafe au lait.
KA Mocha Katie is going to be my splurge-wow! 2years growing dahlias and the learning curve is steep, but they are worth it.
I completely agree Rhonena!! There’s so much to learn, I am here to help. 🤗 I CANNOT wait for KA Mocha Katie! It has such a unwise antique look to it, it makes me smile every time I see pictures of it.
I love so much cupcake dahlia.
Good luck for everyone!
Thank you Lidiya. Cupcake is pretty amazing, I am looking forward to it. 🥰
Very excuisite dahlias you are showing here.
Thank you. 💗
LOL-$45 is crazy but $35 is not even remotely close to crazy! Nah!!! Not at all! 😜 Looking forward to Thomas Edison, Honka Pink and Rip City again.
Lol!!!!! My husband said the EXACT same thing Laura! 🤣
I am most excited to grow Bloomquist Blush this year ^_^
That’s a beauty! 💗
I grew dahlia for the first time last year. Caucus type. Dug them up to save but they are not looking good.
Ohh nooo!!! I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve lost some in past too, it’s always sad. 😭 Did you store them in vermiculite?
Hi, I watched your channel for awhile. I’m a dahlia lover too. I have some varieties like yellow dark red magenta and mix yellow and red mix pink and yellow and also grew from seeds too they are so beautiful but I don’t have this varieties ok , will be my selection for this year! Hopefully I’m the one you pick 🤞🥰
Aww thank you so much! I am warming up more and more to yellow ones. Honestly every dahlia has something special about them. 🥰
My favorite variety last year was Clearview Jonas
Ooh love that one! The creamy yellow center with the pink is so so pretty!!
I've grown dahlias from seed to tuber. Easy and inexpensive.
Good day aloha ....
This is my second year of growing dahlias ... I always watch your videos... Emory paul
Even I have a small space to grow dahlia still I love the flower
Oooohh!! Emory Paul is beautiful! I have grown that one either, but it’s on my list. Thank you for watching our videos and entering. ❤️
Hey! Are the winners of this giveaway announced yet?
I did! We announced on the community page. I am still trying to reach one person. If I don’t hear from them, we will select someone as the third winner. 💕
