As a dude who has ADHD, this is something that usually happens when im practicing a piece that I don’t care about, like when the teacher leaves you a piece that you dont like. Because (at least for me) I usually am hyper focused on things i like, so its not likely that i will be distracted on a chopin piece.
This is single handedly the most relatable thing i have heard in my whole life
I also have ADHD and I am the same way.
It’s a person who also has ADHD I could agree it’s like a super power at least that’s what everyone says but it’s a very annoying superpower I also paused like 20 minutes in between writing all of this😂😂😂

As someone, who actually has ADHD...I appreciate the joke, but it is exactly the opposite of what I usually do...while it's true, that people with ADHD lose focus easily, this usually (at least for me) only happens with things I am not interested in. That being said...if you are interested in something (and this is the plus side which everyone with ADHD knows, but maybe not appreciates) you get into a state of hyperfocus, which results into something like you trying to play e.g. La Campanella over and over, forgetting everything else.
What if he wasn't interested tho 🤔

I have adhd as well and even if I'm interested in doing something executive dysfunction will stop me from doing that thing productively so maybe it's that 🤷

i literally was talking to one of my coworkers today, and i trailed off midsentence because i forgot a word, and i started making a rhythmic noise with mouth while trying to remember and that vocal stim decided it was going to turn itself into a funky little beat

Yeah this is how I think, not how I'd play piano. I do play some instruments, and once I get into a groove I can't do anything else until I finish the phrase! But if I were uninterested in what I was playing, this is exactly how I'd play 😆

That's because they can modify how much force to press a key with, they just fill the entire chart with zero energy notes complitely covering the actual ones

As a dad with four boys, three of whom have ADHD, I can say pretty equivocallly that you nailed it.
This is the most accurate description of me playing any instrument ever. It's just ridiculous how many times my brain just switches to a completely different song (it's usually or frustration for making mistakes or they just both sound nice together or something lmao).

I personally have ADHD, and this is definitely true, I literally taught myself to play megalovania and the seven nation army by myself while I was slacking off during music class.
sometimes when I am running or walking or standing somewhere I literally get the uncontrollable feeling to just squeal in a weird way and like, jump around like an ape, and it sucks, because obviously I can't do that in public

As a person with adhd, I would like to say, i dont feel this, so lemme explain, When i play piano i have no problems because of my hyperficsation (idk if i spelt that right , im not good with words) when I play piano i do focus on other songs, but i only play 1 over and over again because it's basically fun to play, and I kinda forget how to play other songs in the process but yeah. I learn by ear

I just got a keyboard a few days ago, and I can confirm that this is how it’s been. Especially the transitions into megalovania and rush e- and learning those songs is probably an iffy idea for me, considering how I have almost no experience with a piano… but nobody’s gonna stop me soooooooo >:D
It’s been 3 months apparently, and I thought I’d quickly update. So the first full song I’ve learned to do with both hands is Fallen Down. Wasn’t too hard, probably took me a couple weeks with about an hour of practice a day. I’ve nearly finished learning my second ever song, which is Elegant Entrance. Turned out to be much more complex, and I think that one is taking me about a month total? Yeah… But I’m gonna be starting Deltarune’s version of Dogsong soon, so we’ll see how that goes!!
(Also, Rush E and Megalovania are definitely going to happen at some point. I just want other songs rn lmao)
