The problem for us developers is the fact that these carts cost an insane amount of money from Nintendo, even in bulk. At time of writing (I can go back & check) a 128gb card costs around $80. This is why publishers & solo developers who want to order them would therefore need to charge anything from $100+ just to make a very small profit. Let's be honest, noone is buying a $100 standard edition game.
Wow Nintendo doing their job at destroying physical games. $80 for a chip where the fuck is this thing being manufactured? A 2TB SD card cost the same amount.

@@DANCERcowThis has been tried before, these type of connectors break off EASILY. Drop your switch? Well you might need a whole brand new switch because your joycon connector bent a single degree in the wrong direction. Or maybe you scratched the connector because it literally sticks out of the device and now it won’t have a stable connection. Spill soda? Corroded connection? Get water? Corrosion. Get condensation? Corrosion. This is going to happen because these connections require a friction seat which eventually will wear down. And kids being the main target? Oh man I truly want to be wrong but I’ve been down this road before.

People buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games. The novelty of the Switch is cool, but I just wanna run around as a rotund plumber, goofed out on shrooms. It’s about the games.
Muta, you should note that the Switch 2 experience is kind of a free lottery. You have to get selected from the draw to get invited to join. Which is an interesting idea for Nintendo to be able to limit those who can come by to test it out in-person. For those interested, signups begin tomorrow and are open till the 26th for which they will draw accounts (you need a Nintendo account to sign up) and they will contact those who won.
At least even with a neutered physical copy, you could still share it with friends, sell them if you want, and check them out from the library for free. My local library has a huge switch collection.
I'm hoping the connection point for the joy cons has some give actually. Like imagine something that is nearly impossible to rip or bend to break it, but that doesn't have such rigidity that it allows for different ages and people types to be able to connect the joycons quickly. Basically a flexible nub that catches the female port at any angle
Nintendo is really smart for slowly upgrade their hardware, the chain reaction of this action its huge. For example developers need to really optimize their games if they want to release on nintendo hardware. And nintendo and the devs have more time to adapt to new tech on the market.
Nice. The potential for this joycon mouse mode is very high. Hope it'll be close to a good computer mouse in fidelity. Could make playing shooters on the go way better. And the rumored Master Chief Collection port into a system seller.
I never heard about these rumours for an MCC release on Switch 2 but it could make a lot of sense. Those FTC documents from a while back showed that Microsoft has been considering moving from x86 to ARM next generation. If that is still the case, they could theoretically use Switch 2 as a means to practice developing for ARM before deciding whether or not to fully commit to it.
Idk how it is in US/Canada, but where I live (central EU) physical editions are almost always bit cheaper than digital. With Nintendo and Sony games, the standard digital edition usually costs the same amount as physical deluxe or whatever the name is.
My only real hope for Switch 2 aside from being more powerful is better Joycons, I took great care of mine, never dropped them, kept them clean etc and they still ended up drifting
The switch might not be as portable as a ds or psp, but it’s def more portable than an Xbox and ps, and it’s pretty incredible how the switch 2 has ps4 pro power for a system that small and thin
I'm not impressed. They managed to make the Switch seem a bit less clunky, but that's not even the bare minimum for a "new console". It simply looks like a 2nd Generation Switch, not a successor. Like the PS3 revisions changing from a George Foreman Grill into a sandwich maker.
It's crazy that they revealed no specs or real news of anything and people are hypnotized by Mario kart a game that has looked the same for years and runs fine on the old switch people are crazy lol
Iirc the leaks said that it’s similar to a PS4 in terms of horsepower, so that’s a good sign at least. But tbf, they only announced one game. Who knows what the newer games are gonna look. I do wish the early games were cross generational though, but we all know they need to milk the Switch 2 ASAP
There's a lot more stuff going on than just Matio Kart. The presence of a mouse means that a whole catalog of PC games can come to consoles now. Nice try at being a party-pooper.
Nate the Hate also claimed that games like FF7 Remake and Rebirth and Halo Master collection will come to Switch 2. I'm excited to see what third party devs will say now that the Switch 2 is revealed.
Nintendo has competition with the Steam Deck and it's look-alikes (IDK what that platform should be called) and as far as I'm concerned, we're back to a whole new "console" race and Steam will stay at the top.
Handheld. It's all handheld. People often identify the non retro handheld by just saying "PC handheld", the less savy calling it all "Windows handheld". Yes, even the Steam Deck, I'm talking very casual gaming which the platform really entices. The major category is PC handheld (again not really official but it's the more general name for it), and retro handheld (mostly for emulating older consoles + some very lite PC game here and there but this point dilutes the names). Once OS is brought up though, they all kinda merge together since there are retro handheld that runs on linux as well. But most often they run on android. edit: I just goof of by naming the major category. Since ironically the switch doesn't belong in neither of them. Let's just call all of it handheld at this point lol. Otherwise it's PC handheld, Nintendo Handheld (Only reason why I'm not separating Switch is because 3ds is still going strong), and Retro Handheld (emulators + actual retro handhelds like gameboy and psp).
The Switch 2 in docked mode has a slightly better perfomance than the steam deck according to the leaks. The steam deck is an actually computer tho and you can play basically anything on it (if you include emulation).
Unless there's some killer feature yet unrevealed, the Steam Deck is still the superior system. You can buy a 10 dollar bluetooth mouse and add the Switch 2's newest "feature" to the Deck. The idea in Nintendo's mind is to make it easier for PC games that need a mouse to be ported to the Switch 2, but there's no need to port anything to the Steam Deck. It already works.
@@blue_ish4499its about who provides the best product i think(what he means), the piracy consol obviously wont be more sold than the real one, but its better for anyone who knows how to use it.

correct me if I'm wrong but is this the first time Nintendo has named a console like this? like Gameboy 2 and Wii 2 weren't named like that, why no fancy name this time.
well I would say since the switch games are not on CD's and actually sd card like devices, can't you just have an option to when you update the game, it also adds the update to the sd card game so when you open on another system it doesn't need to update all again. I am sure this is not hard to do and would make preservation way better and still allow for game updates
Theoretically, yes. But then this opens up a whole world of possibilities for pirating. Adding writing capabilities would also add to cost (although how much I'm not sure). Probably other things I'm not thinking of.

Technically Mario Maker is Mario Paint 3. So it would be Mario Paint 6
Super Mario Maker on the Wii U is Mario Paint 3
@ are you counting the ds mario maker to reach 6?
It's Mario Kart 9 they showed cause it has brand new character models with DK looking more like the movie version and Mario and Luigi looking closer to how they do in Mario Wonder
i wonder if they're going to patent joystick drifting
They would get sued by Sony who makes millions per year from people replacing controllers
The original title is "Nintendo Switch 2 Looks Pretty Nice..." because Muta and Pyro keeps changing their video titles for some reason.
It makes people think that its a different video so they click again
I think it’s the youtube algorithm that suggest them a title more attractive than the one they already have.
The official Nintendo channel changed the title of their video from "An Update from Nintendo" to "Nintendo Switch 2 - First Look Trailer." That's just how TH-cam works man. Your title doesn't work. You change the title. You get views.
"The Nintendo Switch 2 just got announced" is the original title for anyone wondering.

Honestly, i feel like Nintendo Leaks are like this:
A couple of dudes broke into a perfectly fine oil pipeline screaming, "Look! Free oil!" When, instead, they've just flooded an entire city.
What are you talking about?
Nintendo acting like we don't know what this console looks like
cant wait for the Switch 2 Emulator
I’d bet my left kidney you just need to tweak Yuzu and Ryujinx a bit to get it to work. That’s why they were busting their ass off shutting those down last year, even if it is deserved for Yuzu
We're gonna be hearing more about those damn joycon connection pins over the next ~8 years than anything we heard about stick drift. Just a baffling decision.
agree
TRUE
Why is it baffling?
@@DANCERcowThis has been tried before, these type of connectors break off EASILY. Drop your switch? Well you might need a whole brand new switch because your joycon connector bent a single degree in the wrong direction. Or maybe you scratched the connector because it literally sticks out of the device and now it won’t have a stable connection. Spill soda? Corroded connection? Get water? Corrosion. Get condensation? Corrosion. This is going to happen because these connections require a friction seat which eventually will wear down. And kids being the main target? Oh man I truly want to be wrong but I’ve been down this road before.
It’ll be that it gets dirty and won’t work, that will be one of the first issues, then the next one will either be “stick drift” but this time it’s not the stick, it’s the magnet connectors, 3rd one will be there fault and some dumbass will say it’s because Nintendo did it.
Finally, 30 FPS instead of 25 FPS

This was such an exciting console reveal... like, 5 months ago. I mean at least we have an April direct confirmed that's fun.
People buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games. The novelty of the Switch is cool, but I just wanna run around as a rotund plumber, goofed out on shrooms. It’s about the games.
Always has been. Zelda games are what gets me to buy em & Nintendo's (generally) great support from third-party JRPG publishers.
Eh nah. I use it to actually own my physical game and play JRPG/Monster Hunter on the go
Muta, you should note that the Switch 2 experience is kind of a free lottery.

I, like, YOU!
Honestly. Frame generation would fit perfectly for Hand-helds. This is exactly where it should be used.
ion really care about nintendo stuff, but that trailer was so sick, shi was like Tony Stark suiting up in the first iron man lol
Nintendo is really smart for slowly upgrade their hardware, the chain reaction of this action its huge. For example developers need to really optimize their games if they want to release on nintendo hardware. And nintendo and the devs have more time to adapt to new tech on the market.
Woah. Muta uploading at this time?? That's great!
Thoroughly enjoyed how well made and gamey the announcement video was. Was a pleasure to watch
I could hear that giggling “Oh boyyy” just by looking at the thumbnail.
Ps2 sales magically increasing right after news that the Switch is gonna outsell it hmmm
Idk how it is in US/Canada, but where I live (central EU) physical editions are almost always bit cheaper than digital. With Nintendo and Sony games, the standard digital edition usually costs the same amount as physical deluxe or whatever the name is.
why is everythings 2nd version gettin announced rn

I just found my old DS and im way more excited about that lol
Only took 5 years of click bait articles to finally get something right!
I'm such a Nintendo fan. The advanced drift and instant copyright execution will be incredible!
Hard to explain but I feel like I already own one. Everything about this is so expected and familiar.
You wanna keep playing on super out of date hardware? Then go ahead. You'll be able to play far more third party games on this system
It's deliberately similar.

That's like complaining that the 3ds is just the same as the ds, which it is but how's that a problem? Lol
was it the DLSS capability on steamdeck?
Cant wait for Ryujinx 2
The switch might not be as portable as a ds or psp, but it’s def more portable than an Xbox and ps, and it’s pretty incredible how the switch 2 has ps4 pro power for a system that small and thin
I'm not impressed. They managed to make the Switch seem a bit less clunky, but that's not even the bare minimum for a "new console". It simply looks like a 2nd Generation Switch, not a successor. Like the PS3 revisions changing from a George Foreman Grill into a sandwich maker.
That's exactly what this is, a second generation switch! Lol what did you actually expect
@@DANCERcow I expected better.
It’s funny cause the Xbox one X was more of an upgrade from a base Xbox one than this was from the original switch
It's crazy that they revealed no specs or real news of anything and people are hypnotized by Mario kart a game that has looked the same for years and runs fine on the old switch people are crazy lol
Hoping they’ll release Mario Kart VR one day.

I think they might do what the ds and 3ds did. I think The switch 2 cartridge will be bigger
I don't see why it would need to be a different size. You can buy a 1.5TB microSD card these days.
@@DarkForce2024he's referring to how 3ds cartridge is barely bigger so it can't fit in a ds (but ds cartridges can fit in a 3ds)
Lenovo sees removable joycons: WRITE THAT DOWN
Nintendo sees removable joycon as a mouse: WRITE THAT DOWN
Nintendo has competition with the Steam Deck and it's look-alikes (IDK what that platform should be called) and as far as I'm concerned, we're back to a whole new "console" race and Steam will stay at the top.
Nope Nintendo is at the top with 140 millions console sold
I'm so excited and I can't wait to see what they actually do there's so much potential this time around and I feel like they're actually going to do what the first one should have done. With all the competition they have to really bring it this time. And yeah I think I might actually go try to get one of these in my hands and try it for myself.

@@FozzieOscar , your effort is appreciated.
@@DragonGamer-ly3lfit was called 3DS for 3D DS because it had the slider, I think that was supposed to be more clever than an actual numbering system
well I would say since the switch games are not on CD's and actually sd card like devices, can't you just have an option to when you update the game, it also adds the update to the sd card game so when you open on another system it doesn't need to update all again. I am sure this is not hard to do and would make preservation way better and still allow for game updates
Theoretically, yes. But then this opens up a whole world of possibilities for pirating. Adding writing capabilities would also add to cost (although how much I'm not sure). Probably other things I'm not thinking of.
