@King Kevlar well, worth buying on sale or via key on some marketplaces, they brought the formula from fc 2 - less action, less story, more, much more fun. If u can intertain yourself, it worth buying. But fc 5 has zero atmosphere. Because of realistic american setting. Fc 2 was melancholic, cuz of real civil war setting in Africa.
It's the kind of thing where if you don't want to be too serious with the comparison, it's okay to contrast two guns that are meant to be direct equivalents of one another. It's like how BF3 used classic AK's (like the AK-74) while BF4 used more modernized variants (like the AK-12); they're different guns, but the modern variants of BF4 are meant to be equivalent to their classic variants in the previous game, just like how the M1911's in all the games after Far-Cry 3 are meant to be comparable to the Star-45.
Oh, far cry 2 tried to do realistic rpg rocket! Nice, seems that rocket launched, flies some distance (IRL ~10m), ignite its jet and speed up itself further ( next 20-50m IRL). It's unusually correct! And detonator in its warhead will be armed only after rocket motor will start, a measure of safety. But IRL after ~500-800 meters in flight (depending on rocket type) detonator will explode it anyway. Also a safety measure, but afghan talibs invented a technic of antiair salvo shooting with airburst by timer, and used it against russian aircraft with some results. But IRL you better never try to launch an RPG-7 rocket 90° upwards. Backblast will burn your feet and ass badly if you try to do so.
What you say about self-detonation of the RPG-7’s grenades is correct. BUT... in the guerrilla warfare (I mean, in real life) some dudes in the gunsmith shops extract self-detonator of the grenades (and even turn anti-tank grenades (like PG-7V and PG-7Vm) into anti-personnel grenades by adding explosives charges, shrapnel-like things, gasoline, etc), both for RPG-7 and SPG-9, and turn them, by fact, into improvised light mortar. This is how I can explain, why RPG-7 grenades in FC2 don’t explode reaching its self-destruct distance (and, also, why in-game RPG-7 shoots PG-7V grenades, instead of the OG-7V - they are modernized by somebody in the local gunsmith shop).
Quite excessive explaination, you've probably well enjoyed this game. I'd rather have an option to do such gunsmithing by myself). And also have you heard about modification when rocket is dismantled, shaped charge warhead is removed and motor is being added to a standard russian-type mortar round, 82-mm afaik. And thus user got very nice fragmentation rocket with serious radius of frag damage and more of heavier shards than pg or even og does.
Farcry 2 physics are more better than Farcry 5,especially how the RPG and Carl G rockets fall due to gravity when you launch them at a height and moreover the fire physics is absolutely a treat to pyromaniacs.
Farcry 5: lets make it more arcade styled and dumbed down because far cry 2 was to gritty me: *sitting here willing to pay 60 dollars for a remake of far cry 2 because I prefer that gritty realism over whatever The clusterfuck of micro transactions ubi did. with far cry 5*

in real life, rpg7 rockets need to go a certain distance before the explosives are triggered, so if you fire it close enough, it would bounce, it's just exaggerated in far cry 2

Tbh it wouldn’t be fun with the misfeeds and the breaking as well, it would actually be very annoying. And do not say it’s “challenging”. But if anything the misfeed and malfunction mechanic should be left in Stalker where it fits the gameplay more
AK and SVD assault and sniper rifles in FC2 have wrongly positioned bolt action grip. Attack AK assault rifles were fixed in FC5, bolt grip is on the right side. And SVD did not. Why don't game developers see this elementary thing at point-blank range? It is too catchy. I want to say WTF! And, where are the grenade funnels? WTF!!!
And carl gustav recoilless gun in both games made horribly wrong. It's not an RPG! It fires not a rocket, but spin-stabilised artillery shell with quite good accuracy, but with TREMENDOUS BACKBLAST AND HORRIBLY LOUD SOUND.

So many tech features - it was a real breakthrough in fc. FC 2 made a "outpost" formula in series. In FC 2, you dont have teammates, except buddies(but they are mercs, and work with you only for money), or friendly factions. Liberating outpost in FC 2 is temporal thing, cause of enemies everywhere. Boring objectives - cause od pseudorealistic setting of war. Not a junkie trip like in FC 3. Monochromed graphics was trend in that decade. But you can install a mod which deletes this blur effect.
