This is why a lot of Bethesda's guns in the Fallout series are left-handed versions wielded on the right hand, making the hot brass eject on the player's face. They don't care about accuracy back then, just more moving things on screen.

The Makarov in 2 looks so good, I hated how clunky all the pistols were in SOC. Ironically all the small guns looked big and the big guns looked small in SOC

Так прикольно смотреть на такую большую разницу во времени. С оружием gsc очень неплохо поработали. Во второй части оружие очень реалистично выглядит. Хотя мне лично по игровому опыту не хватило немного уникальности оружия - банально урон и отдача не ощущаются чем то принципально во второй части, что не скажешь про первую трилогию. Оружие было хоть и жутко нереалистичное (с затвором слева вообще полная лажа конечно, но и сами анимации достаточно плоские), но если вспомнить другие игры тех лет, то все было очень даже круто на их фоне. Все таки ощущение, что было вложено больше души в старом сталкере, надеюсь, в дальнейших патчах они над игрой поработают в этом направлении
In the old STALKER, all the extraction ports of the guns are on the left (for the vanilla). In STALKER 2, they are all according the the real design (except MP5, why?).
Probably because the viper5 was very different and unique from the actual mp5 since it had a square mag and cut in half front sight and gsc i guess wanted to keep that as a reference to the old trilogy
They changed that for sake of realism. Vintar has subsonic, basically pistol-like rounds, it’s for special operations not for powerful hellfire, piercing everything in its way

Secondly, the magazine might be incorrectly modelled after a 7.62x39 one but the gun in the game still uses 5.45x39 ammo just like any normal AKS-74U (and unlike the "AKMSU"). BTW, the only "AKMSU" examples in 7.62x39 we have are handbuilt rifles from Pakistan, using Chinese Type 56 underfolder receivers. Soviet Union didn't have such a weapon at all - their only carbine AK variant was the 5.45x39 AKS-74U.

1:17 in the reality a double barrelled shotgun is the right side barrel that will shot first, not the left side one. 1:44 in a over/under shotgun instead will shot first the downside barrel not the upper one

I still remember using the Thunder or Groza if you will, it was i think the only gun in SOC that didnt need scope to be a great sniper cause it had that much accuracy and was also an amazing assault rifle.
The sound effects were garbage, but the rest of the game was so good it was fairly easy to look past. Quite the opposite of CoD nowadays, extremely satisfying sound effects and animations, but shit core content.
Despite all amazing graphics from S2, personally SoC ambience is better due to gloomy and badas atmosphere. I hope modders can do these things without change texture.

Old games always seem to have rawer ,crisper sounds and graphics too, newer games have this dulled plasterscene like quality to them even if they are objectively more detailed and technical

that's valid, I'm really not a fan of the animations in stalker 2 either. The recoil animations are really long and shaky. In real life, gun kick is a lot more sharper and controlled, even if you are a new shooter the gun doesn't wobble around like that. The new modern warfare games do a great job at depicting recoil well.
Why wouldn't it? You're still propelling an object forward. Just because it's being done with magnetism doesnt mean there's magically no recoil at all.

How the scopes worked in the OG titles was much better. At least they didn't ruin the immersion by allowing the player to see it's just a zoom instead of an actual scope. Too bad not many games get their scope usage right... they either have to black out the background around the scope, or just allow the player to see the facade. Some devs.. if they can't figure out how to separate the scope from the background they'll go for the blur instead of the blackout.

I suffered heavy frame rate loss when entering encampments before patch 1.1.0 but it would normalize in a few seconds. Only time Stalker 2 crashed on me was while exploring lab X5 giving me a Low Level Fatal Error and that was only because my graphic drivers weren't up to date.
I like that the Viper-5 isnt modeled like it is for avoiding gun license but to honor the og mp5 from SoC is honestly nice and cool

There is a unique beretta in Stalker 2. Fire 9 x 19, not the same as the beast in Stalker 1 that is laser accurate.

I hate aiming in the S2 because of its great distance from the eyes, in the entire trilogy you can normally look completely into the optics

that's valid, I'm really not a fan of the animations in stalker 2 either. The recoil animations are really long and shaky. In real life, gun kick is a lot more sharper and controlled, even if you are a new shooter the gun doesn't wobble around like that. The new modern warfare games do a great job at depicting recoil well.
I never played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Heart of Chornobil but l like more the design of the weapons in previous games than now

Why wouldn't it? You're still propelling an object forward. Just because it's being done with magnetism doesnt mean there's magically no recoil at all.

@@VINKOSfor a gauss gun to be lethal it has to shoot projectiles much faster than real life prototype examples, the gun in game is shooting projectiles with more velocity than normal guns ergo more energy ergo more recoil. There's no such thing as a free lunch
@@AskortiBecause it cant, it’s one of the core features of that gun in Stalker games and lore overall. It’s even mentioned in the description of the gun itself. It’s honestly stupid af that they changed it (also new sound for it is terrible, OG one sounds way nicer)

If you shoot at a wall, the impact creates a sound that mixes with the gunfire sound. Also stalker 2 runs pretty bad so sky is the only option

How the scopes worked in the OG titles was much better. At least they didn't ruin the immersion by allowing the player to see it's just a zoom instead of an actual scope. Too bad not many games get their scope usage right... they either have to black out the background around the scope, or just allow the player to see the facade. Some devs.. if they can't figure out how to separate the scope from the background they'll go for the blur instead of the blackout.

New stalker is not realistic at all. 9mm pistol rounds do more than 5.56 rifle rounds. The ballistics are all completely arbitrary. Also, Stalker isn't post apocalypse.

@@knightsolaire5393 I'll back up @CardboardCrxwn. I got a 3070 RTX, Ryzen 9 3200X 12-core, 32GB Ram and the Stalker 2 is installer on my SSD. I suffered heavy frame rate loss when entering encampments before patch 1.1.0 but it would normalize in a few seconds. Only time Stalker 2 crashed on me was while exploring lab X5 giving me a Low Level Fatal Error and that was only because my graphic drivers weren't up to date.
