Because Materazzi was just another average player, nothing special. While Zidane was a player that was idolized by fans and other players, studied by experts,
Check the player Honours stats of the two players,
      Materazzi: 2
      Zidane: 65
How many records set by player?
      Materrazi: 0
      Zidane: 10
Top teams in FIFA want Zidane as their coach and he has already coached. But where is Materazzi? Playing football in India. 🤦‍♂️
Materazzi is forgotten. Nobody cares about him, even if he scored and won in the world cup final.

Its literally the most famous thing from 2006 World Cup, because it decided why Italy won it. Im not sure, but the italian coach might have said at half time to Materazzi, that talk shit about Zidane family and so Materazzi did talk shit about Zidane family and Zidane headbutted Materazzi to get red card, so Italy could win the World Cup. This is genious football tactics from the italian coach to win the World Cup.

He's headbutted before that, even stomped and slid down the leg of an opponent trying to hurt him. He also was finished physically by 33, but that was more due to the aging of EPO injections he was getting from Fuentes than anything else. They doped him up when France was failing to qualify in 2006 so he could save their arses in the playoffs, which he did, and bring them to the final...also part of what he did.
Dope + Technique = super Zidane, but it also has it's downfall...super rage = stupid Zidane too.

Italians killed their league and national team through cheating. They corrupted their league to much so that it also influenced the national team. Sure they won a Euro but it's embarrassing that a team like Italy who have won 4 world cups can't even qualify for a world cup nowadays. mishaps happen unfortunately. In between dominating Europe.
Lots of people want to read into these things. in 2017 they had a very bad retarded manager that tried to play a 4-2-4 with Spain. One of the midfielders was an aging De Rossi. It didn't work, Spain beat Italy 3-1 or something...and they went into the playoff. In the first game vs Sweden Italy was parked in their end but could not score. Sweden nicked a goal on a deflection and defended for their life. Again genius manager put's Italy best offensive weapon, at that time, in a defensive role in midfield.
He tried that again in the 2nd game when Italy needed a goal. De Rossi at that time called him out on it.
A normal mind would think that the coach is either insane or had been bought off.
Either way, 3 poor games and they were out.
In 2021 Jorginho fails to convert two penalties in two consequetive games that would have seen Italy qualify. Then against Macedonia they hit post, cross bar and missed an open net (ie; fail to score) on 31 shots on net after 80% possession...and finally Macedonia's goal was a hand ball.
That happened, but before any of that, Italy should have had a goal and should have been there.
Those previous errors were Italy's fault. Never leave the decision in Ref or Var's hands.
Another 3 game mishap and OUT.
Shit happened in a big way.
Italy will be back, like Italy was in 2021, and haters will cry again.
      This is a guarantee.

That's what I've been thinking. All zidane fans are defending the action..but materazzi won. His goal was to get into zidanes head. He did and they won the WC because of it. Materazzi is proudly laughing and will continue to laugh about this incident.

Harsh words in a soccer game especially in the WC finals? If that justifies what Zidane did then soccer wouldn´t be a ball game anymore rather than a 11 vs. 11 UFC Battlefield. Stupidity and a useless short fused temper paired with wrong honor and completely conceited combined in a single person representing a whole nation in the greatest Sportsmatch of the world. This game was neither about him or his family it was all about france and him acting like a child because of words at that age shows he is completely egocentric.

I think Zidane reaction was stupid because he got a red card in a wc final .. that is very very stupid !!! and Materazzi just said what he said just to get Zidane lose his concentration on the game .. surely he wasn't even serious about what he said... So yes Zidane should regret what he did, because he stupidly harmed not only himself, but also his teammates and his country...
