Since you are in IT, you will likely be able to answer my question. Earlier videos I've watched, people have mentioned formatting needing to be Fat32, which is an old formatting for cards/drives 32gb or less (and cannot handle files over a certain size). I noticed on the more recent videos, yours included, that the formatting in the car asks if you want to format and says it will format in exFat. Do you know if, from a new update, Tesla has allowed for exFat formatting on the drives/cards being used for Sentry Mode/Dashcam recordings?
On My model 3 I have a Samsung SSD formatted with a Mac with Fat32 and on my Y I have a micro SD card formatted using the Tesla. So I guess it allows both (for now) thanks for watching!
How do I transfer video saved on my Tesla USB thumb drive to my iPhone? I got rear ended in traffic and need to email the dash cam video to the insurance company. Any help will be appreciated.
Any reason for using this USB adapter with SD cards and not using the external SSD drive? Other than the cost?
Nope. Either is fine for this application. I have an SSD in my 3, and this one in my Y. Thanks for watching

It would be easier to use a computer to see those files. Thanks for watching!

Hasen't yet since we did this video for us. Our other Tesla has a Samsung T5 SSD, going strong for 4.5 years now. Thanks for watching
