They might have done that because they increased the train frequency to every 8 minutes as of 12-10-23. Shorter trains but more of them. That's better.
Metro is running less service frequency than when the Gold line first opened. MTA's operations, both raill line frequencies and train capacities, are often insufficient to attract new riders, or even (like on weekends) to accomodate the riders they currently have. MTA's operations are so bad, that it is one reason that MTA has lost over 500,000 daily riders since 2014, even before MTA found the "Covid" excuse. And worse, MTA is handling less than half of the passengers it did on an all bus system for the 1984 Olympics. MTA needs to start operating these systems correctly (more frequencies and more cars) if they expect it to perform that well in the next Olympics.
@@metrorailinlosangelesprodu4407 Definitely!! It's almost like a revival of the Pacific Electric. The Blue Line now known as the "A" Line is definitely like a restoration of the Pacific Electric from Los Angeles to Long Beach CA.

@metrorailinlosangelesprodu4407 Though I predict tge line will get much more used once the new sections open. Since both the B and D line are getting new trainsets, they might add more cars in the near future. The new trainsets will have open gangways too. Very exciting.

Holy crap the E line hella pack how in hella are the people supposed to fit they need another E line train
Metro made a big mistake by putting only 2 cars on E line and A line yesterday. 2 car train won’t cut it anymore on weekends.
Saturday and Sunday it’s 2 cars

It's amazing that the tunnel part of the extension is almost finished
You fooled me into thinking you’d go into the new tunnels
That’s pretty cool, love that purple line horn tho
That was a version of the whistles used on Pacific Electric trains way back in the day.
The horn on that Purple Line subway train is like the air whistles on the wooden Chicago Aurora and Elgin Interurbans.
The whistle is to represent the Pacific Electric Red Cars Los Angeles had in the 1950

Why are they running short trains though, the platform infrastructure is clearly capable of a longer train?
It’s only runs 6 cars when more people ride and gets busy
They need to start making five car trains!
