This is quasi-reminiscent for me of the time in August and September of1972, when the extension of the Broad Street Subway in Philadelphia from Snyder Avenue to Pattison Avenue (now NRG Station). They would use some of the 1927 Brill cars for these tests. It was an odd thing hearing the motor sounds echoing of the walls of the tunnels.. As things turned out, the rubber padding on the rail anchors had to be replaced, in addition to the two stations on the extension not being ready yet; the new section finally opened with a dedication train, using the newest cars on the line (from 1938!), painted up in a variety of bright colors, on April 6, 1973 (a Friday) and regular service beginning April 8, 1973, a Sunday. The sight of the old trains pulling into new stations disappointed riders, though sports fans found them more convenient than driving to the Stadium District that was near the Pattison (NRG) Station. It would not be until September, 1982 that a new train was put into service, with the rest of the services converted by late August, 1983

This past week, I was finally able to operate the P2000s twice. The first time was fine until the fuse break as I was doing the horn sequence. All the times I was operating north of Union Station. :( I wanna do one going south. Oh, well. Also, we are refurbishing the Breda 2550s, where they are gonna get some upgrades, including reading how fast we're going and destination head signs being upgraded.
