    Ah yes... The superb kicking style, the traditional moves, speed with precision, all shown in this work of Taekwondo. Hard hitting attacks, the use of everything as an advantage and the conditioning that can take it all. THAT is Muay Thai. Both arts shown in respect, both fighters showing there skills and most importantly: It's all done as equals. No art is better, none is worse, there is only mutual respect and appreciation.

    I really like how this highlights Taekwondo’s advantages and disadvantages but still pays respect to both martial arts. I like how it’s shown that the Taekwondo fighter had issues with taking hits, punches, leg grabs and leg kicks. But it also highlights that the spin kicks Taekwondo may not work all the time but when executed beautifully it can catch an opponent off guard and leave a devastating effect.

      @Taekwondo invented 1930 ITF style invented in 1959 in a fight with no rules im sure one of the boxing types from sea (thai,myanmar, camodia et) would win. most martial arts today incorporate muay moves

    • @gmeme9252
      @gmeme9252 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Taekwondo invented 1930 ITF style invented in 1959 im not just talking muay thai, im talking the killer boxing, muay thai is just a more friendly version of the originial muay boran. If you look at lethwei there are a bunch of moves there that are not necesarily used in modern muay thai. sure neck shots can hit but im sure any competant fighter would not allow a neck strike, even muay thai in a street fight would beat tkd like there are plenty of moves to counter. plus if a tkd fighter gets in a clinch with a muay thai they would just die. Look at k1 they had to change it because a muay thai fighter compeltely dominated the tournament with knees through clinches. its hard to do a take down when you are forced into a clinch.

    • @gmeme9252
      @gmeme9252 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Taekwondo invented 1930 ITF style invented in 1959 ok? Sure you can break knees but must boran a common technique is elbow striking the thighs and head... also I was not talking about Muay Thai but even then why is tkd not used more in kickboxing?? Even Muay Thai is far more effective in the ring.

    • @michelleg7
      @michelleg7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Taekwondo invented 1930 ITF style invented in 1959 oh please tkd has lost to Thai fighters in the ring. Plenty of videos on it. Muay Thai is a martial art that teaches close contact with an opponent. A spinning back kick ain't going to do shit if you don't execute it correctly and that's a big if. Muay Thai fighters have shins like rocks! One kick to the thigh could fracture a leg. Another is an elbow strike to the face can knock someone out!

    That's why I lived taekwondo when I took it. it allows you to use it whole body as a shield, as well as a weapon. my master once said "You will never defeat an attacker if you cannot block his strikes. Even if your blows can crush mountains." Our bodies become weapons. We strike before we can even think of a plan. Then, as we grow in knowledge and experience, we learn to do both. Those who have mastered this become our greatest warriors. Great video.

    you guys are all arguing which martial art is better. But know this, it does not depend on the martial art that the fighter trains in. It does not depend on the gender, or star sign of the person that trains. It does not depend on the weapon which that person fights with. It all, in reality, depends on the individual.

    I've been seeing that almost everyone saying that TKD is not "effective" blah blah blah...But I really respect them who support only personal preference in martial arts.Even though people may say it was choreographed to make TKD black belt win I support it because this can show the TKD fighter how to use skill and do not be afraid or consider that their martial arts (TKD,Karate or anything) is weak. People consider a martial art to be weak only when artists do not implement or learn them properly mainly due to competiton restrictions. Otherwise Karate as well as Taekwondo can be deadly if properly used.

    One thing I noticed about the muay thai fighter, when you grab the back of the head to knee the opponent, you grab the BACK OF THE HEAD, NOT NECK, so to get better control

    • @dardrex777
      @dardrex777  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      张朔 In choreography you modify moves to look better for camera... that "plum" grab is too close for the camera to see clearly and covers the face making it bad blocking for the camera.
      Stylists need to realize fighting for camera and fight training are separate animals.

    • @dardrex777
      @dardrex777  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Martial artists need to understand fight choreography and martial arts ARE NOT THE SAME. You move more open to help the camera see what you are doing as opposed to the way you are trained. I get very tired of repeating this in the comments because practitioners love to nit pick.

    • @hmongxiong87
      @hmongxiong87 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Darren Holmquist fight choreographers need to understand that if they're going to do a fight scene, they need to do it correctly. One would not show a heavy weight wrestler doing somersaults kicks for the "sake" of camera angle. Get your facts straight then there will be no criticism from practitioners.

    In a real fight, none is superior to the other. Its all about the person whose using it. For example, in a street fight, karate is very deadly but in the ring, muay thai is more affected. Thats y it needs to be mix up and the person needs to master it. If youre a muay thai fighter, u just cant rely on elbows and knees too much. U have to know when to use them and its very affected but those are short range and one punch from ur opponent from a farther distance can end it. Its all about hit and dont get hit.

    Guys, you realized a very good fight, and an even better video quality. You should try to became pros. Also, if you're the same of the Taekwondo vs Karate fight i've seen last year, than you're for real. Only one tiny criticism: you should have chosen a more dramatic ending, you shifted from the advantage of the Muay Thai fighter to the decisive victory of the Taekwondo guy too fast, and you couldn't see the progression.

      I wanted a friendly fight as the ending. It goes all intense but the ending shows respect and I understand what you wanted but that's not really what I was going for.

      360 hook kick. Not commonly in Muay Thai but we did it to make it a bit interesting.

    It's really up to the fighter in most cases, TKD is a bit flashy to me but the flashy doesn't always work. I do Muay Thai and my friend did TKD and wrestling, we sparred he tried one of those helicopter kicks it didn't work. Nevertheless, neither of us one because he took me down and I used what I know of ground fighting which evened it out. Don't bash me because you feel that I implied that one is better than the other, I'm just stating a personal experience and as I hopefully conveyed it's up to the fighter

    • @Michael-ws7fi
      @Michael-ws7fi 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i agree, ive tone a little taekwondo, and wrestling also. in a real fight situation though, unless you're REALLY good that flashy shit will get you put out. I would stick to the basics. Roundhouse, Front kick, and maybe a back kick or 2.

    • @AugustusAsgeir
      @AugustusAsgeir 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Michael Cook Yep, TKD looks good but not necessarily effective in a street situation especially when there are multiple attackers

    • @Michael-ws7fi
      @Michael-ws7fi 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Austin Smith My school is very traditional (I know everyone says that, but we really are) so we practice forms every day, and almost every form is designed for multiple attackers. We dont do many fancy kicks, definitely no demo-team type stuff. Never broke no boards. A lot of sparring though. It takes a longgg time to learn, but it is practical.

    • @AugustusAsgeir
      @AugustusAsgeir 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Michael Cook Thank you for sharing that information with me, now I know that there are TKD schools that teach for combat situations

    • @carllubrin8518
      @carllubrin8518 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my school the same we learn patterns or form witch are basics like how to do a reverse punch when an attacker is moving towards you example where to hit and where not to hit, we also do sparring. Working on the basic form of basic technique like how to throw a proper side kick from the front foot with out getting hurt or a reverse side kick ect and we do self defence and one step sparring where to hit the target the neck or the stomach just above the groin area or the temple ect some school teach deferent then others
