If the QC is the same as the new dawn "pro", then it's not worth $0.01 if it's not working. I will be avoiding any crappy products, and if moondrop makes them, I will be avoiding the company altogether. And I've had the sparks, aria 1 and dawn "pro" and they all failed me after some time passed (sparks was not properly glued, aria chipped away like crazy and the "pro" being the worst of the bunch as it was not even fully working when I got it). The "pro" rattles insides, the buttons are really cheap and rattle as well and the usb c cable constantly disconnects. I wonder if any QC was even done... Some might argue it's only $50 ... well, the tempotec sonata pro DID NOT fail me as these products and it's still working, at a lower price than the "pro" ever was. Hell, even the paint is still there and that is saying something about "the drop" QC.
my only problem with the chu 2 is the filters get blocked real quick if you have wet westerners ears, I have had to remove the filters on mine but thankfully my ears are too dumb to tell a difference
Chu 1 had fine sound - what was complete deal braker for me was the fact that they were horribly! uncomfortable - I returned them after trying and suffering to wear them for around 1 hour.
How about the zero 2's. Do you feel the chu 2 is better and/or on par with them? I'm trying to decide between the two of them. And what is the whole dsp option. Is it worth it and will it make it sound better similar to a DAC or? The option kind of confuses me to be honest. Any help would be great. I tried reading up on it but honestly it just confused me lol. Just want to know if I need anything special to get it working and whether it is worth getting to get better sound.
I've used these on stage with multiple bands in multiple venues. They're way too good for the price and i recommend it to everyone. Bought them within a week of their release and so glad i did.
Unfortunately the Holas have been discontinued. We need to send out the word to truthear to keep making them or make an update. They are probably the best package in the 20$ range with a very good cable and build quality.
Wait, they were? Holas are the only ones that I keep using just because how comfortable the fit was. Had to move on from Zero and all because using them for long was just painful. A shame!
The Chu2 was my first IEM. And I love them. Comfortable, robust, I like the cable (but I'm aware that there are way better ones out there), great sound (the sound stage is quite narrow, but I'm used to over-ears), and I use them all the time. These little things actually made me listen to way more music when I'm on the go. And that's the best thing a pair of IEMs can do for you. I think nobody would regret buying them, no matter if you're new to the IEM game or if you own lots of them.
i bought them a while ago, the left iem for some reason had a sound so low i could hear shit, 1 week in I returned them. Idk if im just unlucky but it seems like a common problem
@@goncaloaraujo6644I had the same issue and bought a second one and it lasted longer before the issue happened again. So I was bored the other day and decided to try and fix them so I took out the filter to try and clean it a bit even if it didn't look dirty but before putting the filter back on I tried them and they worked just fine. So I've ordered some filters from AliExpress and I'm sad because I threw away my original Chu when all I had to do was replace the filters
i had the chu 2s for a while now about 6 months and will say if you live in a moist environment the chus have an issue where one side of the ears sound gets lower then the other or just dies out. something about the moisture getting stuck in the cloth filter or something.
i had the same issue on my chu 1, i removed the mesh filter in the tips to fix it, one day i woke up and the volume on the left iem was lower and it sounded fucky so i thought it was dying and tried to fix it my amping left channel which fixed it but it kept getting worse, one day i thought maybe its the mesh so i removed both meshes dabbed some isopropil 95% alchohol on the tip to clean it with a cotton swab and voila, ever since i remove the mesh from all my iems as it makes the sound "clearer and sharper" and i find the treble enhanced which i really like.
The moisture is enemy to a lot of electronics, some might just be more susceptible than others. Metal cases gets condensations, so the advantage of them being made of metal can heavily contribute to the issue you mention.
Because all audio is subjective unless you're doing scientific experiments with frequencies. What you say sounds amazing, I may say sounds like arse simply because I don't like the signature. Trust yourself and the objective facts about the product. He is giving his very best, most informed opinion.
I'm new to this stuff, my first IEM is CCA CRA this piece of beauty won't let me use trash earphones again, then I recommend my sister a 7hz salnotes which she love as well. As a gift I bought 1 Moondrop CHUCHU and love it. The comfort of CHUCHU in my ears are perfect.
I have been using this iems for a couple months and there is something to say: 1. There is a lil bit or lost on the volume when condensation covers the iem with the spring tips. 2. The cable obviusly turns in a yellow color with time. 3. The most annoying one, a lot people have sulfate issues in the nozzles, there is no replacement of this part, even if u can unscrew the nozzle. I don't know if that can be harmful, but the green color around the spring tips and the 'new' chrome color that the nozzle have because the sulfate ate all the golden film in the nozzle looks awful. Anyways, the sounds still great, nothing changed even with the sulfate issue, so thats a fair price with this things, i guess.
I had the original chu for use at the office. I had to get rid of it and had been using my original starfields. I have the chu 2 for the office now and it's a little iffy on the qc on mine. I'll see how it holds up. Just in case, I have my starfields on deck still since I don't use them at home on account of having the kato and the blessing 2 and now the simgot ea500lm and maybe the hype 4 in a couple months time.
I ended up getting the Tangzu Wa'ner instead with a tripowin upgrade cable, feels like it's more comfortable to sleep in + it doesn't have the "builds up condensation in humid weather" issue
I bought the original pair of Moondrop Chu, but due to it's metal body it trapped humidity. So after wearing it for a few hours, sometimes half an hour, they would get more and more muffled until they stop working. The solution was to let them rest and "dry" every single day. Since I sleep with earphones, they had no rest and on that note they were uncomfortable to sleep with - due to the metal body. So I assume the same issue will happen with Moondrop Chu 2. Buy with caution.
Same issue, I'm going to test them out anyway. (I bought them mainly to get the cable as buying a decent replacement cable is basically the same price as buying the Chu II...) Will update if the moisture issue is resolved, but I don't hold out too much hope.
Had that exact issue, and it eventually led to more problems, causing the IEM to be unusable after just a few months of use. I'm more wary of QC for these brands now thanks to it. Might honestly return to mainstream for reliability if a similar issue happens for my current IEM.
I have a TWS that has a similar problem. It stops playing if water got into it. Just when I was about to trash it, I had an idea, and used an airdryer to kinda blow on it and heat it up a little. After like 5 minutes it works again! Now I always do this if I accidentally got it wet from rain or shower water (yes,.. I use them while showering noew). So yeah, this might also work with your wired earphone too if the water/humidity is the problem. Just don't put the hairdryer on it for too long.
Got a pair of these before the New Year. Sound is overall pretty solid, although the upper midrange is on the forward side of things. Makes the soundstage a little smaller than I'd personally like, and winds up making my brain focus on that instead of the bass. Even though the Chu 2's bass graphs as being stronger than the Hola, I feel more bass presence on the Hola because of how much more relaxed the upper mids are on that. But aside from that, considering the $19 price tag, the package is very impressive. Metal build for the IEMs, good cable, decent eartips, and a nice carry pouch. I think it's an absolute steal.
I really like the Wan Er but the face place came loose after having it for almost a year. Had to glue it back. Fun fact, the design on the Wan Er is not an engraving or a printed design on the plate. Apparently, I found out it's a flat thin plastic piece thay is stuck under the faceplate. Now I'm rocking the Simgot EW200 for that similar mid centric signature, better clarity and build.
I got my Chu 2 DSP like 2 days ago, it was my first Moondrop and i love it so far. The sound is a new world to me, it's the first time i hear my favorite songs with so upfront in vocal and i love it for that. Note: i choose the less bass tune preset in Moondrop Link app, so it sounds more to my liking. (Honestly can't tell any significant difference, but it feels brighter that way)
Got mine for $10 with free international shipping lol. They are my first "audiophile" iems, they are so clear and the bass is so detailed. Coming from cheap tws earphones, these are a HUGE step up. They make my previous buds sound like I'm listening to them through a brick wall.
Chu 2 issues that crin didn't point out: - The same poor paint job as Chu 1, which is prone to chipping off after some time. - The brass nozzle will oxidize and turn greenish, potentially staining your eartip's internal tube. - There are reports of condensation issues blocking the nozzle's mesh and causing imbalance, definitely not an IEM for people who experience this kind of issue or gym/hiking. Yeah, it's cheap and all but I personally don't like to deal with that. I'd rather buy a burger idk.
you can fix the condensation by removing the nozzle mesh i had that issue with my original chus and i originally amplified the left channel in my case but it kept getting worse so i removed the mesh dabbed some isopropil alchohol with a swab and it fixed, also makes enhances the treble and makes it sound sharper/clearer which i personally like but you can eq to account for it if you dont like it.
the nozzles aren't actually brass, they're stainless with a coating. The coating turns green and comes off, after that it's blank metal@@hasanthesyrian_
I'd like to add that the nozzle mesh issue is on all of Moondrop's IEMs. They usually provide spares but the same thing happens a few hours later, it just depends how quick you sweat, it can take a few hours or a few minutes. They use that mesh to stop the wax but I believe also for tuning. I've had this issue on all three Moondrops I have so now I finally stopped buying them.
@@incediumignis I removed them from my Chu and Aria, went straight int the bin! A bit more complicated on Blessing 2..., there are some tiny filters in the nozzle
The one issue with this video is that Hola is discontinued completely on my end. You literally can't get them legit anymore from any local retailer. Oof owie ouch *just my issues
Loved my Wan'ers and used them til they got channel imbalance and a honking noise in some of the high frequencies, upgraded to the Hola which I enjoyed the comfortability of for my big ears and that cable is a godsend at the 20 dollar bracket compared to the Wan'er cable, now having upgraded to a Zero Red I do appreciate the Hola much more with how high it punches up from it's price point.
I liked my original chus, but when the cable on them broke i got some 7hertz zeros, but swapped the spring tios from the chus onto them. The tips were great on the cuts, but they aren't on the Chu 2s, moondrop needs to add them back.
The one thing I dislike about the Chu 2 is the brass nozzle. I really wish they made it out of steel or something else because the corrosion is real, I put mine away in the case with some Springtips on the ends and about 2 weeks later they were green and the springtips ruined. It turns out if you want to store them you should clean them down with rubbing alcohol first otherwise they can destroy things. The cable too got some minor damage. Aria 2 and Kato suffer the same fate with the brass nozzle. I honestly wish Moondrop would go back to stainless steel or continue with the Beautiful World and use Platinum. Such a nice metal even if the wear and tear is quick to set in, it's a metal you can work with alot easier. Prefer my BW over any other Moondrop IEM currently. Purely because of the material and design elements. Sound is basically the Kato but more refined. Cleaner.
Yeah this is what put me off buying these when deciding what iem's to get. The whole cleaning thing seems like a hassle and i don't wanna risk having the rusted tips in my ears
Zero is good but the shell…typical consensus is that it’s garbage. Too shallow and missed opportunity to elongate it and make it more like the Razer Morray which crin said he loved(the fit only)
Personally bought the Chu 2 a few months ago as my Aria was dying and it was a cheap way to check if the wider nozzles would fit me. After using it, I felt no reason to go for anything else. The shape and size are especially great and with some eq, I personally don't feel any regression from the Aria. Shape and size are really important and often not covered in reviews, if it doesn't fit well, it doesn't matter how well it sounds.
@@talas7131 it's common in humid areas but you can just let it dry or clean the nozzle if it doesn't work. Storing it in a dedicated case instead of your usual pocket is recommended to help avoid most issues that one may encounter.
I'd like my moondrop chu 1s better if they weren't fouled by a horrible hissing that is present no matter what source I use. I've plugged them into pretty much EVERYTHING (including a Gen 3 Ipod, an Ipod nano, 2 different Dacs, 3 different computer monitors, 2 tvs, the WORKS) and whenever they are plugged in, there is a hiss. While an impedance adapter helped, it didn't totally eliminate it, although it did highlight it as being more present on the left than on the right. Outside of that, they were relatively comfy, didn't make my ears hurt, and sounded okay, especially for the price point. Then again, I've generally had such terrible luck with IEMs that I went back to the 'clip-on' style cheap panasonic/Koss headphones for when I can't/don't want to use a normal set of headphones. They are just as portable and don't tend to have as much issues with source sensitivity or build issues, and I don't have to worry about them causing ear infections in my 'busy' ear canals.
The Chu 2s are definitely better for more genres of music overall than the original, but that extra sparkle of the Chu 1’s have me coming back for songs that prominently feature female vocals and classical music. Both of them are also an excellent size for my small ear canals. They dont feel like they are constantly going to fall out when I am moving like with the REDs.
Why is your Freqency Response curve here 7:35 so different from SoundGuys'? SoundGuys also measured Chu 2 with BK 5128, and their curve looks more similar to the older measurement done with 4128 from WoodenEars, while your curve looks significantly different, why is that?
For 20 bucks they don't need to be the best earphones you ever had just great headphones and a solid recommendation and the Moondrop Chu were already there, these upgrades just made them even easier to recommend
I've had my Chu 2s for about week now. They are very enjoyable to listen to and have a good well rounded sound to me. Not too extreme in any part of the frequency response in my opinion. I have been disappointed with most IEM's/headphones in this price category before (most have bloated bass in my experience sacrificing on clarity). But these have been an exception.
I've had the chus for a year and a bit and upgraded to the chu 2s about 3 months ago. They feel better overall, I still have the issue where windows reads them as speakers (idk if that has any impact on the sound quality) and recently got a significant channel imbalance (the left ear sounds way louder which did happen to my original chus too) which can be a physical issue (mostiure or earwax), even though I always store them in their case once I'm done using them. I use them mainly for gaming and I don't really know why but the chu 1s had a more premium sound for some reason, the chu 2s really sound like organic headphones I feel.
It likely hasn't if you live in a very humid environment. The problem likely stems from it having a metal casing, which causes condensation issues. Mine (and a lot of other owners) had the Chus last two months before the issue cropped up and eventually led to it being unusable. Pretty ironic considering that I partly bought it for the build quality too.
Not sure what the Hola shells are made out of but I have the Hexas and their front side is entirely plastic which I really don't like personally. So I'd personally go with the Chu 2, it seems extremely durable in comparison.
just noticed the switches in the background, mechanical keyboards probably fit in well with your usual shenanigan's (I have owned the original chu's for almost 2 jears now, one of the sides stopped working, but moonrop sent a new pair out after some chit chat between me and the support)
I initially shortlisted the Chu2Dsp, but I went with the Fiio JD1 instead because it includes a dedicated DAC within the USB-C IEM itself. I know the build quality might just be okay, but having a built-in DAC is a big plus for sound quality, thanks to the hardware tuning and five preset options. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with a carrying pouch, but that’s a small compromise for a quality IEM at an affordable price. Now, I’m just waiting for it to arrive.
From my short time trying those 2 iems. The bass is the most noticeable difference for me, Chu 2 had more impactful bass, it sound deep and satisfying, meanwhile salnote zero 2 has leaner bass (still thicker than salnotes zero OG) which result in more natural sound. Salnotes zero 2 sound more laidback, while chu 2 had more fun on it
The 7hz Zero 2 is the only 20 dollar IEM that doesn't have a treble spike from hell going from the 5128 graphs lol (had the salnotes zero 1 and wan'er and they definitely had something wrong going on in their treble so I think the graphs are pretty indicative of that)
I still love my original Chus, brilliant for listening while working and so comfortable. Vocals sound great, especially for the money. I'm considering a DAP or a tiny old phone just to have my playlists on there for the commute with the Chu.
Detachable cables are great for reducing wastes, since you don't have to throw away the whole IEMs if the cable is faulty, but having to pay a new lowest-end cable $10+ for a $20 IEM stings a bit.
i got moondrop Chu II like a year ago and used it so much at school and stuff because I didn't want to lose an expensive headphones, I lost it now but I think I will find it soon
The only issue I had with them is that the included ear tips are pretty much impossible to actually fit on the IEM. The part of the ear tips that fit around the IEM are way too narrow, which makes me think the wrong ear tips might have been included? I tried for 30+ minutes to get it on one of them (let alone both) and eventually gave up because I didn't want to go through this again if I ever had to clean them. Unless it was a mistake do they really expect people to fit those ear tips on these IEMs? Thankfully I had a pair of old ear tips from really old ear buds that fit the Chu 2 pretty well. The ear tips are old and not the best but at least I can use these IEMs now. The Chu 2s are pretty good, first pair of IEMs I've ever owned and they're great so far. They are still comfortable despite using mismatched ear tips.
@@skrebzilla10th You may not believe me for some reason but I'm telling you, it's not just a tight fit or that they barely fit at all. It's not even remotely close. It's not a matter of strength, the ear tips are silicone and therefore soft. If you compress it, it will fold in one direction and that method does not work. If you stretch it, it makes the already too narrow "base" of the ear tip (the part that fits onto the IEM) even more narrow which also does not work. The outer diameter of the "base" of the eartip is identical to the diameter of the IEM, but the inner diameter is less than half the size, it is absolutely tiny compared to the IEM. There is no possible way to stretch it to fit. All three pairs of ear tips that were included were like this, which leads me to believe the wrong ear tips were included. Every other pair of earbud (wireless or otherwise) I've ever owned in my life came with ear tips that you could put on in just three seconds. Very easy. But not the Chu 2. Of course, you can buy standalone ear tips to use but I decided to use old ear tips I already had because it easily worked, I didn't have to wait, and it was free. It still sounds great so it really doesn't matter to me.
gotta agree on the wan'er, i picked up a pair a couple days ago alongside the two generations of zeros, and in a vacuum it's an outstanding pair, and the mic is a standout, but it's got that sorta veil over it like you mention on the chu2 in comparison. the original zero's probably my favored sound of the three, but the angularity of the casings on those are murdering my ears. probably going to put a set of the original chu's in the cart at some point. worst case it's a set of springtips.
Just to put it out there i bought the chu 1 and sometimes one ear would make less sound(due to the inner filter doing something idk)so keep that in mind If you want to fix that problem it is known to suck on it so that the filter gets away from the driver but it mostly does not last much until u face the same problem I like the sound of these iems(when they work properly) since they are my first experience with good sound quality devices
Crinacle is probably a lot more open to ranking his already 'expired' collabs, that have been discontinued, such as the Blessing 2 Dusk and the Yume Midnight.
Why has the Truthear Hola become so hard to find? 😢 I love my pair but when I recomend it to people it now seems it is out of stock everywhere. Guess I will recommend this Chu 2 now.
Does the Chu 2 have the same issue as 1 with the weight? The biggest problem I have with Chu 1 is how it keeps slipping and falling out instead of having a tight grip in the ear canal due to its weight, and one of the wire near the bending point where the wire connects in has also been stretched over prolonged period thanks to the stress imposed by the weight and as you know, the cable is not detachable so it is unusable at this point. I am currently using the Truthear Hola and it is a lot lighter and more comfortable to wear compared to the Chu 1.
Moondrop has several QC issues they need to sort out. I've had 3 repeat cable failures on my Moondrop Chu II's. This is to the point that Amazon has stopped letting me request replacement cables under warranty & I have given up on using the IEM's. They're budget IEM's; I shouldn't have to buy a set of cable to use them. My 5 pairs of KZ IEM's have lasted years & they each came with 2 pairs of cables.
I'd honestly buy them if I didn't have QC issues with the first one. Currently using Salnotes Zeroes and they seem to be fine so far after 3 months (with some minor audio gripes like muting when there's a long enough pause between audible sounds).
I got some Wan 'ers (?) and I love how they sound, but recently they just disintegrated on my hands one day, they are now held with hopes and lots of superglue, sadly the built quality, is not there, so the CHU 2 are just coming in clutch for me
As a previous Chu 1 customer, I'm chu-sing once again to purchase the Chu 1 over the Chu 2 for one reason majorly - free spring tips. They really are unbelievable until you've tried them. Normal eartips really don't compare and I always feel like I'm getting a compromised experience without them. It doesn't make sense to me to spend an extra $13.00 on spring tips when I can get them with the Chu 1. Also that the oem cable on the Chu 2 can't be optioned with a microphone was really annoying.
By the measurements (if they hold up in my ears): It's a big, big win to have a smoothed out region from 5-10 kHz. A very critical region, that's really important and not seen often in any price range! No problem to get the slight hump around 180 Hz down with EQ. I guess I need to try this thingy, this could be the new star in the low price segment. If so, this review is on the understatement side.
i bought these about a month and a half ago along with another Moondrop iem cable, and for my first iem, they are really good. not too bassy, but a perfect balance with everything.
I probably just entered the audiophile hobby as I fell in love with the Moondrop Space Travel. Was there an wired version? or an IEM with the similar acoustics of it?
In general, TWS has less value dedicated to pure sound (as you have to pay for batteries and chips etc). That said, Moondrop has its own target FR curve they try to achieve and improve. I guess you’d be fine with the Chu II… about the same pricing as the Space Travel and will probably sound close but improved (since it doesn’t spend money on those TWS things, only in sound and build quality).
I have both Chu 2 DSP and Space Travel. I enjoy Chu 2 DSP more, first the fit is comfortable, i often hurt my ears wearing Space Travel more than 10 minutes, and second Chu 2 DSP have clearer and brighter sounds in my experience. I still grab my Space Travel for its convenient, but totally not for a long session of musical entertainment.
I bought a few IEMS around the 20 euro mark. I was expecting miracles from this one based on all the reviews. However, possibly due to my absurdly large and deep ear canals, other typically less respected models sound more pleasant to me. Not that the Chu2 is bad. Collecting is fun, and maybe a friend or musician colleague finds a new favourite when they try these.
these are my first IEMs (18 bucks) paired with a Tripowin Zonie cable (20 bucks) and a 24bit/96kHz capable dongle i had laying around (10 bucks) using android and usb audio player pro (8 bucks) total starting price of 56 bucks...and wowzies...the sound stomps my 300+ bose qc35ii and all these ~200+ ANC wireless earbuds. even the passive NC i get from the smallest tips that came with the Chu 2s is freaking awesome compared to the fancy ANC of Bose and Sony...insane bang per buck. next order will be a F.Audio KS01 DAC/Amp (210mW, unbalanced 3.5mm, flagship chips and an OLED for 40 bucks) and some time in the future a planar IEM crinacle will rate top tier in the sub 300 price range. future is going to sound great thanks to crin ❤😂
Chu1 are still worth a grab if you want the spring tips (that the chu2 lack) and to experience something clearer and less bassy. But overall the chu2 are better.

Is that why my headphones keep doing that??? I’ve gone through three sets of headphones now and I had no idea that could be the issue!
The moisture is enemy to a lot of electronics, some might just be more susceptible than others. Metal cases gets condensations, so the advantage of them being made of metal can heavily contribute to the issue you mention.
same thing happened to my chu 1s within the first month, its not worth the money, ive been using the cca cras with no problem ever since

Same I m using.... Please confirm any major difference between cca cra vs moondroop ch2 ?
lol nice
here my sister uses a CCA CRA and im thinking of buying a 7hz salnotes
I have been using this iems for a couple months and there is something to say:
Sulfate? That's just oxidation.
I ended up getting the Tangzu Wa'ner instead with a tripowin upgrade cable, feels like it's more comfortable to sleep in + it doesn't have the "builds up condensation in humid weather" issue
still liking the wan'er?
I bought the original pair of Moondrop Chu, but due to it's metal body it trapped humidity.
So after wearing it for a few hours, sometimes half an hour, they would get more and more muffled until they stop working.
The solution was to let them rest and "dry" every single day.
Since I sleep with earphones, they had no rest and on that note they were uncomfortable to sleep with - due to the metal body.
So I assume the same issue will happen with Moondrop Chu 2. Buy with caution.
Same issue, I'm going to test them out anyway.
(I bought them mainly to get the cable as buying a decent replacement cable is basically the same price as buying the Chu II...)
Will update if the moisture issue is resolved, but I don't hold out too much hope.
Had that exact issue, and it eventually led to more problems, causing the IEM to be unusable after just a few months of use. I'm more wary of QC for these brands now thanks to it. Might honestly return to mainstream for reliability if a similar issue happens for my current IEM.
@@TheRealFlamingNinja I'm looking forward to your update. Might get them myself then.
I have them, issue was not resolved@@kopa_music

Chu 2 issues that crin didn't point out:
- The same poor paint job as Chu 1, which is prone to chipping off after some time.
I'd rather buy a burger idk.
ok
you can fix the condensation by removing the nozzle mesh i had that issue with my original chus and i originally amplified the left channel in my case but it kept getting worse so i removed the mesh dabbed some isopropil alchohol with a swab and it fixed, also makes enhances the treble and makes it sound sharper/clearer which i personally like but you can eq to account for it if you dont like it.
the nozzles aren't actually brass, they're stainless with a coating.

Cleaner.
So shitty quality control just as the predecessor... Yeah I'll pass

Is zero 2 better than this ???
@@aadeshsingh2053 Chu 2 with Moondrop Spring tips may be better. Otherwise I'd say Zero 2 is a better choice, but it depends.

@@leduyquang753 ah, thanks.
Will you ever make a video about loudspeakers? And how software EQ isn't enough to make them sound good?
WDYM? A lot of modern high end powered speakers have DSP for tuning and room compensation.
Loudspeakers are an interesting subject in general but also a different can of worms than headphones.
Distortions interference, off-axis response.
Off-axis is underrated as an issue
Lol what? What kinda bad speakers have you been listening to
Chu 2 was a blind buy and no regrets. it is the sound signature that i was looking for
I am sad that the neutral signature has been replaced, my Chu I sounds perfectly tuned to me
It's like Crin said, everything feels veiled behind. Hopefully the eq can fix some of that, but if not....bummer.
Different ears.
If you like the chu for that you will love the moondrop starfield 2!
Why is your Freqency Response curve here 7:35 so different from SoundGuys'? SoundGuys also measured Chu 2 with BK 5128, and their curve looks more similar to the older measurement done with 4128 from WoodenEars, while your curve looks significantly different, why is that?
Nevermind, it's a "compensated by target" curve, a de-compensation is needed to get the original curve.
What are your thoughts on the KZ ZSN Pro headphones? Those were well regarded at the time and those cost 20 dollars.
Dsp?
@@amadeus7320 Not on mine.
Oh boy I was waiting for this so much
I've had the chus for a year and a bit and upgraded to the chu 2s about 3 months ago. I use them mainly for gaming and I don't really know why but the chu 1s had a more premium sound for some reason, the chu 2s really sound like organic headphones I feel.
i hated my chu 1 bcs of the moisture issue, not sure if moondrop has fixed it
It likely hasn't if you live in a very humid environment.
So I'd personally go with the Chu 2, it seems extremely durable in comparison.
just noticed the switches in the background, mechanical keyboards probably fit in well with your usual shenanigan's
(I have owned the original chu's for almost 2 jears now, one of the sides stopped working, but moonrop sent a new pair out after some chit chat between me and the support)
Yo any updates? How was your experience with the Fiio Jd1, im kinda conflicted about buying an iem or a tws 😅

Now i really want someone to compare chu 2 with salonotes zero 2 😅 .

Just to put it out there i bought the chu 1 and sometimes one ear would make less sound(due to the inner filter doing something idk)so keep that in mind
If you want to fix that problem it is known to suck on it so that the filter gets away from the driver but it mostly does not last much until u face the same problem

I'm currently waiting on my pair of Chu Chus rn lol
By the measurements (if they hold up in my ears): It's a big, big win to have a smoothed out region from 5-10 kHz. A very critical region, that's really important and not seen often in any price range!
No problem to get the slight hump around 180 Hz down with EQ. I guess I need to try this thingy, this could be the new star in the low price segment. If so, this review is on the understatement side.

I no longer have that truck, but i gotta figure out how drive get a 2019 golf across the ocean...im close to a breakthrough crin i can feel it
Truly the new $20 king, truly a great iem for the price (I used truly twice because it's the chu 2, twice 2 see what I did there)
bro just learnt a new Word💀
You're truly right
Truly correct
@@yomamafat420 I just love the chu 2 so I used truly there, is twice too much
@@SharBoi making fun of me liking the chu 2 and using the same word TWICE (do ya see the joke?)
Is the third IEM that he couldn't mention the 7Hz Zero?
Yes, because he tuned both the OG and the 2
7hz x crinacle zero 2 or chu 2?
Zero2s no question if u like bass
these are my first IEMs (18 bucks) paired with a Tripowin Zonie cable (20 bucks) and a 24bit/96kHz capable dongle i had laying around (10 bucks) using android and usb audio player pro (8 bucks) total starting price of 56 bucks...and wowzies...the sound stomps my 300+ bose qc35ii and all these ~200+ ANC wireless earbuds. even the passive NC i get from the smallest tips that came with the Chu 2s is freaking awesome compared to the fancy ANC of Bose and Sony...insane bang per buck.
next order will be a F.Audio KS01 DAC/Amp (210mW, unbalanced 3.5mm, flagship chips and an OLED for 40 bucks) and some time in the future a planar IEM crinacle will rate top tier in the sub 300 price range. future is going to sound great thanks to crin ❤😂
Chu1 are still worth a grab if you want the spring tips (that the chu2 lack) and to experience something clearer and less bassy. But overall the chu2 are better.
