- The Chu II DSP USB-C are the best recommendation an audio gear enthusiast can recommend to everyone that needs a USB C earphone. Because it mostly retains a Balanced sound signature, but is it only because of the USB version I have? Does the Chu II work well in competitive gaming? Or in a work environment?

The only down-to-earth review I could find for the Chu 2. I respect that you took a step back and pointed out how an audiophile's opinion isn't absolute. I was also surprised to see AIKA in the song list, lol. Good taste 👍
It's much appreciated! Been thinking that I'm an audio gear enthusiast more than an audiophile.
so my dsp chu 2 cable just broke and maybe this is a stupid question but what if i replace the cable with another brand and not the original moondrop C DSP cable? will the DSP be lost or what?
Yes and also no. DSP(Digital Sound Processing) is the sound tuning a manufacturer makes to "improve" the sound of their earbuds without changing the physical design of the earbud drivers and case. If you're using a different wire, you're getting a different DSP. It's not necessarily going to sound worse, it's likely to sound different. But for most people it's hard to notice the difference unless you're testing them side by side.
what would be the best IEM for gaming, fps specifically? Id need something that has both good directionality for steps & a microphone - pc use
Truthear red or og blue
Nice review, btw are there any other budget friendly alternatives for the oriveti oh500? because I can't really afford a $500 iem.
I want something affordable like the chu II while also having a performance as good (or just as close) as the oh500.
Hello Sir, I have got the moondrop chu 2 (type-c version) after plugin in into my pixel 6a there is no symbol of earphone on display but it's working properly, is that any kind of issue on my device or the iem ?? Please give me a response
That's normal try enabled otg and connect it will show
Didn't think it was an issue, I don't have the symbol either on the S23FE. But try the enable OTG setting, might do something for your phone.
@@Enthusiast_Impressions Thanks Sir 🌿
hey nice video but could u please tell me how heavy are the chu 2 dsp cuz i heard they are made fully out of metal. If i am moving around a lot will it fall out?
Based on my experience, moving around a lot will not make it fall out easily since the design have the around-your-ear thingy (I don't know how to explain it T_T)
any difference in the sound quality or bass or treble in dsp version compare to chu2 3.5mm
I'm using Redmi 9 Power . I have c type jack &. 3.5mm jack
So ii should be buy wich wich one chu2 or dsp ...I need treble must and mids and vocals
I have 7hz salnotes zero and planning to buy chu 2. I mainly use my iem for fps games only. should i stick with salnotes or upgrade to chu 2?
Chu 2
Hey guys, i’m from india. I am new to audiophile. I am planning to purchase moondrop chu 2 as my first iem. But i’m confused in between which one to buy as i got a iPhone. So which one should i purchase 3.5 mm or dsp? Is there any difference in them? or should I go for HEADPHONE ZONE X TANGZU
Wan'er S.G?
Same query mate.. really confused and overwhelmed.. 😑
If your iphone has a type c port, then you can get the DSP version. If not, you'll have to get a lighting to 3.5mm adapter. The Wan'er doesn't have a DSP/Type C version so if you're going with those, you'll definitely need an adapter. As for the sound quality, they're both decent beginner IEMs. If you have an iPhone with a type-c port, I suggest going with the Chu 2 DSP as its one less tiny thing you'll have to keep track of / not lose.
@@jassu1 the adapter doesn't matters to me I have both of the jacks.. depends which one is better?
@reco8253 They both have their own ups and downs. It's difficult to pick one. AFAIK, the Wan'er is more technical than the CHU II. If you want something that most regular people like, then you should go for the CHU II. If you're open to trying out things, then you can consider the Wan'er. Both are good beginner IEMs anyway.
@@jassu1 gotcha.. ill be using it for audio monitoring so technicality is a must
Im buying moon drop chu 2 usb 3.5 non dsp version for mixing and mastering is it good , does it have a good dynamic range , imagine , and seperation? Does it have good tight low end , mid and high ?? Waiting for reply . Thank you .
It's V shaped, as long as you keep that in mind you should be able to mix things. While technically useable, not the best for the application of mixing and mastering, but the chu II would be close to the average earphones most people would be listening to.
my phone has both 3.5mm and type c. what should i go for and why? sound quality is my top most priority
It depends on the 3.5mm jack and it's technical capability, but going for either 3.5 or USB C works fine.
@@Enthusiast_Impressions yessirrr appreciate it gang 💯
Hey, i am really keen to get the chu 2, but just confused to whether opt for dsp or 3.5mm, which one will suit the best for me? I use S23fe and am a first time iem user, so this would be my first iem. If you have any other suggestions please help me out, its just as an indian i feel chu 2 might favour the indian song pallette much better
Go with Dsp coz with 3.5 you need to buy the good quality converter which will cost around 1K
@@nachiketgorwadkar8448 ya but on headphone zone when i looked under the reviews of Dsp, they were quite negative and they said the original one is better in terms of sound quality. But tell me one thing as someone who wants to get into audiophile as a hobby should have the 3.5mm+ dac setup, right?
@@nachiketgorwadkar8448, ya but on headphone zone where i bought em from, the dsp had many bad reviews. Also i felt if one starts getting into the hobby they should opt for the og cable ig. What say?
@@nachiketgorwadkar8448 Also the 3.5mm one doesnt have the Mic
Chu 2 dsp easily. You need to spend extra 1k for a dac if you buy 3.5mm. chu 2 dsp can easily be tuned to your liking anyway
Can we eq moondrop chu ll dsp with my samsung phone's eqaliser?
Yup, I tried it and seems to work.
7hz x crinacle zero 2 vs moondrop chu 2 dsp?
Hello guys please help. I have CHU II and i like IT but i need different construction type. Something as ATH-EM7x but i cant decide what could be so good/better as CHU II but not in-ear... I dont even know if ATH-EM7x is better or worse and its already so expensive to me...
The Koss KSC75 are a cheaper alternative that I've tried a long time ago. I generally remember them being decent, I did lose them however and unable to test them currently.
Amazon affiliate link for the KSC75: amzn.to/3Tc8Ko1
I listen to bands like linkin park is it good for those type of songs
Should work fine with those.
What is the difference between with mic IEM and without mic IEM to considering sound quality and gaming
😂
Depends on if you talk to your game team whether you go with the mic or not. In general it is a v shaped signature, great for enjoyability.
Hi, do you think its worth to get the usb c ones with DSP? I thought of using them only for gaming so i can hear footsteps and fine sounds
@mendi. you can definitely hear footsteps. But I don't believe it's a "fine sounds" iem. But then again, it's not the worst in that regard. Honestly, it would depend on what your previous earphones are. If you're coming from speakers, then it's a yes. If you're coming from most general store earphones, Walmart, best buy, or similar, then yes this would be better. But it might sound a "different" from what you're used to.
@@Enthusiast_Impressions I used kz edx pro so?
Is that good for bass lover users??
Not really, unless you're okay with tweaking the EQ for songs
@WIEIRDO okay
Hi I'm really confused between jd1 type c and chu 2 dsp which one should i go for
Both are great choices, but if you want to do competitive games then moondrop will be good because the other one has a internal dac which can cause slight audio delay
Unfortunately I don't have any experience the jd1. But both they're both type C connector IEMs, just go for what might be better for you based on the description of the sound.
I initially shortlisted the Chu2Dsp, but I went with the Fiio JD1 instead because it includes a dedicated DAC within the USB-C IEM itself. Having a dedicated audio DAC is essential for sound quality, as the DSP chip is only good for conversion, while a dedicated DAC enhances sound quality significantly. Many phones these days lack a quality DAC, so having one built into the IEM is a big advantage, especially for anyone who values sound quality. I know the build quality might just be okay, but the DAC, along with its hardware tuning and five preset options, makes it worthwhile. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with a carrying pouch, but that’s a small compromise for a quality IEM at an affordable price. You can buy a small caring pouch that I ordered from a brand known as audiocullar It doesn't cost much; it's about $5, I believe, on Amazon.
Now, I’m just waiting for it to arrive.
Should i go for kz castor or the moondrop ch 2?? Really confused here !!
Never tried the KZ castor personally. I would recommend to compare the 2 and pick what you believe is better for you. Even if anyone says one is better than the other, since by the end of the day you're the one going to be using it.
@@Enthusiast_Impressions thanks ❤️❤️❤️
I have both kz castor bass and chu 2 dsp. From my perspecitve, chu 2 dsp is way better than kz castor. In addition, chu 2 and chu 2 dsp isn't much different. But it is highly recommended that you should buy chu 2 dsp due to the capability of type c and micro
@@kazel6592 thanks for the info ❤️❤️ gained a new sub
@@kazel6592bro chu2 and chu2 have any sound quality diffrence
I need. A much treble and mids and vocals
I should be buy wich one
I'm using redmi 9 Power it is have a 3.5 mm jack and. C type both options have
Plz answer me bro
I have been watching videos on how good this IEM is, and this is going to be my first time buying IEM in general. Im coming from using Is Artic Nova Pros and Astro A40 TR. Im was wondering if they would be better than those headsets for Modern Warfare 3 CoD and FPS games.
Unfortunately I have not tried the A40s, and wouldn't know what it would be like. But since they're a headset as opposed to IEM/earphone, my personal opinion is I would go with IEMs like the Chu 2 because it's less bulky especially when transitioning from computer to general outdoor use.
i have a 3.5mm jack
will it work without dac dongle??
There are 2 versions 1 that's 3.5 and one that's usb C, even if you have a headphone jack you should still be able to use the USB version. But if you don't have a headphone jack you would need an adapter to for 3.5 to USB C.
I recently bought one, and to plug in the earphones. I need to apply more pressure. Is it the same with you...?
yes
@@mrvakruha255 which device are you using?
The eartips are relatively hard to insert, as for the USB C It's a little stiff, and if you're talking about the 2 pin, it's meant to be friction fit, which is why it takes a decent amount of pressure to insert.
@Enthusiast_Impressions Appreciate your response. Hope the little stiffness to insert the USB C is safe.
Please tell me it’s perfect for iPhone 15
It does have usb C, but I haven't tried it with Iphone myself.
Brother please suggest me best type c iem under 50 dollar
this one
Best depends on your use case, but the Chu II does is regarded relatively well in it's price point.
good content
Thanks!
Is it works with iphone 15
Most likely as it has a USB C port. But I don't have one to verify personally.
can u use em on the ps5?
Should be able to, seen that it takes usb C headsets, but I don't own a PS5 and can't verify.
Hi there, i have been using the apple wired earphones, what sort of difference can i expect when switching to the chu 2?
Same question!
Hi there, Apple usb-c earpods are straightforward, you plug in and have an okay sound with decent fit, and an amazing microphone. Chu ii-usbc has more clarity and better bass, but seems soundstage constricted (better than earpods). Soundwise, it's an improvement but you need to tinker. I use the wavelet app on my Android phone to adjust EQ. All the best!
You can expect to be blown away because any iems absolutely dog on the apple wired earphones
No idea haven't tried the apple wired earphones recently, but it's likely to be better at least in terms of sound isolation.
well, hi
i really need some information, that you really mentioned, and i didn't even understand it
Please to have better content,
use timing ( so i know where i want to go in the video )
use simpler english terms, so other people will understand easily
use better mic or sound ( if u r using filter )
wish you the best
now can anyone explain to me what he said about the mic please ?
probably just not much detail like if you were outside you need to speak loudly while using the mic built in. not the best but can work.
Thank you alot ❤
@hitotamako2814
The Mic section was recorded directly on the Mic. As a simulation of what you would hear from the mic itself, I include normal talking, loud talking, and quiet talking in the video, separated with the text in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Thanks for the feedback and will be taking it in mind.
@@Enthusiast_Impressions @hitotamako2814
oh i understand now
thank you for ur comment
one last advice sir, you are the show, so make focusing on you ( in lighting aspect ) it will improve the video alot also
use indirect sun light , with maybe iso 300, shutter 1/50 maybe ( approximated values ) , also might help you
wish the best
I received moondrop chu 2..
Cable quality is poor.. Smells like plastic..
sound quality is good.. But doesn't meet the price 2290/- INR.
NOT SO HAPPY.
mine is on the way. im scared now
The cable is made of a type of plastic makes sense that it would smell like plastic. Mine doesn't smell that way currently, and they're still soft. Maybe reach out for warranty if it's still an issue.
How is the experience ? I have s21 fe. , will this support moondrop chu 2 dsp ?
Chu 2 lacks crispness... i went back to my kz edx pro which is fantastic
Good to know, might try that one day. But can agree, I've heard crisper IEMs before.
I am treble sensitive can i use it??
I don't believe they have too much treble, but I wouldn't know what would be too much for you personally. Try to compare the sound description against earphones that you do own, you should be able to get a better idea if the treble would be too much for you.
