As he walks away from his son you can in the video he’s still acting happy and as if it was a game so that his son doesn’t realize the truth of what was going on. You should do a tribute video for "Titanic" and "Return of the King" winning 11 Oscars, I would say "Ben-Hur" too but that footage is from 1960 so it wouldn't be very clean

Somehow at the Oscar it seems to be the rule to vote at least every three years someone who is completely unknown, whose film is completely unknown. At least the great talents like Tom Hanks, Nicolas Cage, and Jack Nicholson have been chosen. Tom Hanks was really terrific in the 90s and 2000s, unfortunately it has really slacked off lately or in the last 10 years.

I watched Reserval of Fortune this year and I still haven't found that acting prominence to the role of Irons.
Frankly, he didn't even deserve the nomination like Clooney for Syriana.

My personal ranking of the decade of winners:
    10. Jack Nicholson: A fine performance and while his on-screen chemistry plays well with Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear's characters, his work in this film does not reach the same heights as his early years. Of the nominated performances I've seen, I would have preferred if Matt Damon won.
    9. Geoffrey Rush: A terrific performance, but he only stars in 31 mins of the movie. I know the film requires a substantial degree of screentime to depict David Helfgott's younger years, but Rush's terrific work certainly deserved more screentime. It would likely be higher up on this ranking if he had. Of the nominated performances I've seen, I would have preferred if Ralph Fiennes won.
    8. Jeremy Irons: Irons performs very well. Claus claims to be innocent of murdering his wife, but you watch the film wondering whether or not you believe him. He does not break down while he has eyes on him, like never before. I imagine many people haven't seen Reversal of Fortune, and if you decide to, it is best to enter this film, without knowing the story. Of the nominated performances I've seen, I would have preferred if Robert De Niro won.
    7. Nicholas Cage: A sad tale of the realities of the life of an alcoholic, staring at the bottom of an abyss with very little to show for his life. A tale well told. Of the nominated performances I've seen, Sean Penn is a very close second, but Cage is deserving.
    6. Roberto Benigni: Okay, I know many people will think that this is rather high to have Benigni on the list. Guido Orefice can come across as a one-note character, given that he instills the same positivity, and humor through the course of the film, even when we enter the second half. However, the immeasurable joy Roberto Benigni delivers in this film from the get-go, up until his final dance, gives so much to be enjoyed from a viewer's perspective. You can smile away for a couple hours at a man living life to the fullest, in the darkest of times. I have seen all the nominated performances from this year and, on the contrary, I feel a much darker turn from an actor was more deserving of the Oscar: Edward Norton.
    5. Kevin Spacey: A terrific performance. With the aid of terrific direction, and terrific writing, this acting could possibly be the best depiction of a middle-aged adult experiencing a mid-life crisis, and attempting to relieve former glory, which appears a dire feat to retrieve. Of the nominated performances I've seen, Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington's characters were excellently executed and became easy to empathize with, but Spacey deserved to open the century with this win.
    4. Tom Hanks (1993): One of the most pitiful character arcs I've seen on screen. A great performance depicting a good man's fight for justice. A man willing to fight until the very end. Hanks's physical transformation for his role was impressive too and made Beckett believable as an aids victim. Hanks crying at the end in the hospital bed is top-notch acting. I have seen all the nominated performances from this tough category year. Daniel Day-Lewis's Gerry Conlon would be my third choice, and Liam Neeson's Oskar Schindler would be a very close second, but I am happy Hanks won.
    3. Al Pacino: A brilliant performance from a master at his craft. This is a Pacino film that I guess a lot of people haven't seen. Most people will know Pacino's brilliance from the 1970's work in The Godfather Trilogy, amongst other works. People will say he only won this because he was snubbed for so long. That may be true. But in no way shape or form, is he not merited for another spectacular performance. You truly feel his sadness at the Thanksgiving dinner, you truly feel his joy when he dances to the tango, you truly feel his despair when he screams "I'm in the dark!", and you feel his powerful presence when he addresses the board at Baird (Even before he begins his speech. Rewatch when he looks at Charlie's shoulder briefly when he thinks he's going to snitch, and then pats him on the shoulders when he conceals his thoughts. This subtly is super). Of the nominated performances I've seen, I would still award Pacino his Oscar. Keep in mind I have seen Malcolm X, and Denzel Washington is my favorite actor. He was fantastic.
    2. Tom Hanks (1994): I rewatched Forrest Gump recently, and I had to have Hanks's performance high up on this list. You grew to love Forrest, you grew to feel terribly sad for him. It is impossible, or damn near impossible, to hate someone who can bring so much good into the world, and just tries to simply live by the golden rule. Of the nominated performances I've seen, Hanks is a clear winner. Morgan Freeman's work is admirable alongside him.
    1. Anthony Hopkins: I know I listed Geoffrey Rush in 9th for lack of screen time despite delivering a terrific performance, so I will admit there is a degree of question of having Anthony Hopkins in 1st place on this list, considering he actually has less screen time. I may be biased because Anthony Hopkins made this film a classic that I adore, despite being a gruesome picture. He delivers flawless acting every minute he is on screen, and he truly became, a perfect psychopath. However weird that may sound. Of the nominated performances I've seen, this win is undoubtedly deserving.

These are the best actors from 1989 to 1998. The year refers to the year before the award ceremony for example Anthony Hopkins won Best Actor for 1991 in the ceremony held at the beginning of 1992.
