@@abhinavchoudhury7000 still I feel like in this past decade the best performances came from Leo and most known work came from him too like inception, shutter island, Django unchained, the Great Gatsby, The Wolf of the Wall Street, The revenant and once upon a time….in Hollywood.
None of those actors can hold a candle to about 50 actors I could reel off just like that. The fact is that nobody could pull of such a captivating character like Clint Eastwood did with The Good, bad and Ugly.
Steve McQueen had stunning on screen presence and he knew it. Nobody could have played Rocky better than Sly did. The same goes for Arnold in the Terminator and Conan. Bard Pit actually matured to be a fine actor and has been part of some of the best films. What about Matt Damon and Johnny Depp alongside Sean Pen.. All incredible actors and for me it's impossible to pick the greatest but those were some of the most captivating and 80% of the actors in this top 20 were not exactly masters of captivating the audience attention. Mel Gibson has had an amazing career but so has Christopher Lee another amazing actor. I can tell you straight that my favourite actors have always been leading men not actors like Robin Williams and Dustan Hoffman. There's so many amazing male actors who starred in amazing films but if someone tells me that AL Pacino and Dinero are the greatest of all time I'll puck into my jacket.
The most captivating actors for me were Steve McQueen, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Sly Stalone, Matt Dillon, Matt Damon, Sean Pen, Mark Wahlberg, Burt Reynolds, James Dean, Humphry Bogart, Johnny Depp, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Arnold Schawartzenegger., Brando, Liam Neelson, Jack Nicholson, Paul Newman, Gene Hackman, Peter o'Toole Anthony Quinn, James Cagney, Richard Burton, Burt Lancaster Kirk Douglas, Sean Connery, Tommy Lee Jones, Christopher Walken, Ian McKellen, Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Kurt Russel, Mel Gibson, Martin Sheen, John Goodman, Robert Mitcham. And to be honest, I've most likely left out so many more brilliant male actors. But the key to acting, is to be able to captivate the audience and only men with character and presence can pull this off.

Robin Williams could display an entire range of emotions with just his eyes. Most see him as that manic funny guy (he truly was the funniest man that ever lived) and they miss seeing the phenomenal Julliard trained actor he truly was.

Daniel day Lewis performance in “my left foot” is one of the greatest performances ever .
Each of his performances is one of the greatest ever and his performance in There Will Be Blood being the best ever.

Clint Eastwood should've been an honorable mention. The amount of movies he's been and made are so amazing. From the Man with No Name trilogy, to Dirty Harry, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider, Unforgiven, and Gran Trismo.

Jimmy Stewart. He was Tom Hanks before Tom Hanks. Comedy, drama, action, westerns; he did it all. Barbara Stanwyck. Had the same range and success as Katherine Hepburn. From goofball comedies to sappy Frank Capra movies to "Double Indemnity."

Having recently re-watched Taxi Driver, WOW... DeNiro was in his PRIME. That is some of the best acting I've EVER seen. And Joaquin Phoenix is the most underrated performance EVER. He stole "Gladiator". That is 10/10 acting. You felt his unfortunate downfall before it happened.
I found him utterly unforgettable in “The Master .” What a tour de force. Even my dad, who loves Daniel Day Lewis and his Oscar winning performance in “Lincoln,” said “The young man should have won” after viewing Phoenix’s performance in “The Master.”
Check out The Deer Hunter. DeNiro, John Savage, Meryl Streep, Christopher Walken, and John Cazale. It won 5 Oscars. Brilliant film.

Daniel Day Lewis is by far the best imo. He completely immerses himself in every role, stays in character while on set and does not take roles for financial gain but ones that genuinely interest him and will prepare years to to play a character.

Iconic doesn't mean best actor. Some actors are bigger stars than others. Doesn't make them better actors. Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts and Will Smith are big stars, good actors, not the greatest.

My absolute favourite actor is without a doubt, Jack Nicholson. Nobody is ready for him passing away.

As much as I admire Mr. Brando, Mr. Pacino, Mr. Day Lewis...Mr. De Niro was a just a treat for the eyes. So many of his roles/performances go under the radar because of his collabs with Mr. Scorcese.

Nice list but you left out two notable names: Clark Gable and Jimmy Stewart. Their impact on movies can't be ever doubted. Both are terrific actors who provided unforgettable turns in notable roles.

Agreed, however winning an Oscar isn’t everything. It is cool to win an Oscar(s) but some actors don’t even need one. Brad Pitt won one in 2020, but he didn’t need it in my opinion. He’s one of the biggest stars ever. Once an actor becomes an A lister and is legendary, they don’t need an Oscar. Some of the biggest movie stars have never won an Oscar. And even if you do win an Oscar, that doesn’t guarantee a long career. Some actors who’s won Oscars, they disappear after while

People should watch the lion in winter with Kathrine Hepburn and peter otoole. With a young Anthony Hopkins and Timothy Dalton. That movie is a masterclass in acting.

Tom Hanks is overrated. He's not even better than some contemporaries like Oldman and Fiennes.
