There is NOTHING better than getting a Participation Trophy, Eric!! Good for You! (By the way, you couldn't have created anything more creative and entertaining! Loved it!) One other thing...The skill you have is amazing, Eric. Your chops are quite impressive, and the hard work you put in is 100% noticeable by all of us who you entertain!
Stuff like this definitely helps improvement. Especially in oddly specific, off the wall cases like playing cajon with both hands for ghost notes and snare, left foot with kick pedal for bass and sleigh bells taped to right leg.
Omar was the grad student captain head of the Florida State University drumline (aka Big 8) when I marched there in 06-07. SO cool to hear his commentary on this video!! I just recently discovered this channel so to see a face from my drumming past pop up on your newest video was quite the trip. Thanks so much for sharing…was grinning the whole time. Great playing as always!!
I was in solo and ensemble, doing an marimba duet with my friend and even though we did horrible we still got superior and the only comment was "nice recovery" 😑😑😑
Yeah, it's funny because they are mostly nitpicky enough that he has to be thinking "man, this is a trivial note," but at the same time what else is he supposed to say that's productive? It's obvious Eric is incredible, so at this level the nitpicks are really the only valuable thing a judge can contribute and to his credit he was picking up on a lot of things that probably slipped past many people (they certainly slipped past me anyway).
Hey, I've been a fan for a long time and i thought it'd be a cool video to learn all the tenor cream solos and ensemble from the book. It's a real challenge that every tenor player should strive for.
You're a drummer, you'll never grow up. Know of what I speak, retired, great-grandfather drummer here at 72 yoa and I still don't know what I'm gonna do IF I grow up.

Wow. I remember the joy when i earned the "tri-toms" part in H.S. marching band. So many drums i thought... i thought you had ALL my respect for your E.E.S. cover. What do you know? Here's more
First! Video idea, doing a video about drum writing? I often feel uninspired when writing drumline music, and I feel like I wouldn’t be the only one to benefit from that. Also who has record for most firsts on your channel, cause I know I have to be up there!
First indeed! I haven't kept track of most firsts...but maybe I should. I have an old video about how I write music. But yeah, maybe it's time I make a new one: th-cam.com/video/lITHx3kZQq4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3gLCS8Husi3o_Rdg
This is video #10 of requesting Eric to do another "Behind the Gock Block" Episode. The last episode was 10-20-2020! It's time for Eric to bring back all of his characters!
Good morning! This is video #71 of me asking for a drumline gym made out of various marching percussion instruments, such as the tenor barbell, and bass dumbbells.
Honestly Omar is a saint for putting up with 3 of your wild solos
I know.
I’ve met that judge! He came to our school and did a clinic with our percussion ensemble. He is super nice and helpful
8:43 he thought he could sneak jig 2 into that
and the judge didn't even notice lol

8:42 bro thought he could sneak jig 2 in there and we wouldnt notice💀😭
The choreography of the 9 snare solo is incredibly impressive. Not just the playing, but the movement in the space
Eric is the MAD SCIENTIST of drums!
I love Omar, his feedback is great
First 20 seconds=flashbacks to marching band

EMC should play Flight of the Bumblebee on the Mega-Tenors
Can't believe he said "ending the way you started" but didn't finish the thought with "coming full circle," making himself and all of us chuckle
Hey hey! Furman U! Hometown University! 🤘🏼🥁
Love how the judge is almost apologizing for all of his criticisms.

Very nice!!! I love the old school tenor stuff in there. Crossover fives, single to double, and then just massive singles and scrapes!
Incredible solos and playing! Fun to watch! SO creative!
Good job! You will never disappoint us by playing drums. We Like Solos!!
Damn man! Epic solos, all three! That was fun! Thanks ✌️
Wow, congrats! I am glad they created this category. You'll have competition from me, next year! :D
I think I hear some classic indoor Mission Viejo beats, that’s amazing.
3:09......that is a Mission Viejo 1999 throw back
You're so fking insane, absolutely fantastic work mate, that's was something hard af with the adding of tons of creativity
jesus this was awesomest. great work!
All the solos were great! That being said, I've requested it before: "Jump in the Line" Marimba choir!
With how many awards and accolades you've been receiving, you have got to be considered one of the best in the world at what you do...
I love these comments on top of the music

if i had your level of skill and equipment, i would totally compete in drumming competitions.
I think if Eric joins any contest involving playing drum, I don't think that anybody else is going to win.

You should make another videos reviewing our drumming, I just found out my junior high teacher has chops if you could include that lol.

Make a tenor like an arc piano (it spins around you)
Im early w video keep up the good work
Good morning! I wonder how many people know of the contest. The in person ones are known much better, so maybe the marketing isnt there for it?
i think you should do a prepared marimba solo, in which you switch the location of some of the keys, making for a challenge but a silly gimmick

Omar kept saying "motive"; did he mean "motif"? Or is that a term I am unfamiliar with?
lol. Why does your participation award have a men’s room silhouette on it?
Lego tenors???
Be honest - how much did you drool with that chicken in your mouth? XD

Take your instrument seriously, not yourself. Is basically my approach too lol.

day 69 of asking you to make tenors out of spocks
he did? twice?
