Man, this might be one of the most impressive demos of an indie Soulslikes I've ever seen. The amount of progress that the Shad Studios devs have been making in such a short timespan is nuts. Excited to see the full final version in the near future.
Every day, i keep watching your videos. And every time, the progress made is incredible. We still need time. But in the end, it'll be worth it. Thanks for the news man
It is genuinely phenomenal seeing even the littlest progress and improvements despite what underlying issues still remain; a community's appreciation for the game pushing development of the emulator further and further is insane. Huge ups to you, Mr. Softserve, and the ShadPS4 devs for giving us the opportunity to play Bloodborne as intended!
I was waiting for that troll when you stuck around that area! He's scripted to stop banging on the gate and head this way if you dally too long with the dogs and gunmen.
Hey good stuff man. Also thank you for dropping a list of your current mods. That is so helpful and I do not regret subscribing to this awesome channel so far! Endless good updates
I doubt it, BUT with the amount of love bloodborne has, I would expect actually remade/remastered textures and other mods to surpass the quality of RTX Remix. I truly believe this is like a top 5 game for the PC modding community. All the souls games on PC have MASSIVE amounts of work put into their mods/sequels/etc... I imagine bloodborne will be even more exciting for the gamers/modders.
This build works so incredibly well! I could play for a very long time and when I got issues instead of it crashing PC or Emulator, I got some corruption and could just restart from Menu. I got some strange sudden lag spikes and I think over time it looked like I got more minor issues, and they cropped up faster and faster after loading from the Menu. But yeah, I feel this was THE build where I could actually enjoy the game on my build.
I know... this is a test. You told us to not trust the TH-camrs saying "x is FIXED!!" This just means the lighting is still bugged and we're being tested 😈
Thanks for covering this development. I booted up the game yesterday just to remind myself of what it originally looks like and was a bit surprised at how much better it looked than the emulated version. I have gotten so used to seeing the emulated version, but the original game, at least on a Oled, has sooo much more depth and texture and it just pops so well. Honestly, it looks way better than it has any right to at 10 years old… But I’m hoping as time goes on, we get closer and closer to the “ground truth” look of the original game - I would love to see you do a side by side with your lighting mods vs the original game on Sony hardware. I think that would reveal a lot more than just showing it compared to previous versions of the emulator, if that makes sense.
For anyone trying out the new shadps4 build, I recommend deleting the 4 different "frpg_sfxbnd_m24" from the sfx files. (They are the ones that makes reflections from windows bright white squares)
@fromsoftserve Hey man just wanted to say your video on "the truth about bloodborne on pc" was very enlightening and I felt so dumb realising I was one of the people who thought emulation was all that was required for video game archival. Also regarding the confusion people have with thinking you're one of the emulation devs, why don't you add some title like ft. ShadPS4 or something to redirect credits?
About the title thing, it's tough because you only have so much space, but I get what you're saying. My counterpoint is if people actually watched my videos, they know I mention and credit ShadPS4 literally nonstop. All the time. And links in the description every time. So, I don't feel it's an issue about crediting. I think it's a case where people will be new to something, see a title, and then just assume I'm the one who did it, but without watching the video or reading the description. And I feel they should do that.
emulation is a big bag of worms. people who don't understand it won't understand it. i don't understand it but i understand fromsoftserve is a modder rather than the developer of the emulating program.
Incredible stuff. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with remastering. Are you planning on fixing model placement? There are ALOT (And I mean ALOT) of places in the game where fences/objects are just floating or really poorly placed. In Cathedral Ward, where some of the buildings that are half sunk into the ground and go absolutely nowhere, are resting on top of a planar surface that you can actually fall through into the void if you can manage to reach it haha.
