TO BE CLEAR! This is an optional mod that is useless on its own. It relies on PS4 emulation to even work. Which is legal. You also need to legally own Bloodborne for this to work.

(the game and anything related to it has been nuked from playstation including the achievements players were swooicwiding on loop to get before they killed the game themselves.)
Not only Concord, but like 20 other GaaS titles that they've been trying to create in to the next big thing for all that live service $$$.
Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for us, their developers are infected by DEI brainrot, so they've all pretty much failed, and will continue to fail.
The only one that didn't totally fail was Helldivers 2, but that was only because Arrowhead didn't succumb to activists and actually know how to make a fun game. Though Sony still tried their best at sabotaging it, as well as some dumb members on the devteam that don't understand fun when it comes to PvE game design.

Clamping AO to 1.0 might make the rendering weird in some specific spot afaik
It's not like they made this for perf reasons. AO at 0.3 has the same cost than 1.0, it's an artistic choice
Also an optional version without AO would be great, considering MXAO in ReShade will always look better than the game SSAO

Would it be easy to release a version (or is the configureable?) without the skybox change? I've viewed the comparisons on twitter, and the newer version seems to make the skybox look more washed out. I personally prefer the more colorful skys. I love everything your doin man, would be cool if the mod was configurable. Keep up the good work
Some sort of an installer or patch that allows for checking different boxes, when it comes to things that are preference, would be great (or just a sorted archive to extract whatever you want or not, aside from the required files)
Really appreciate your work on this. I'm patiently waiting to revisit BB. I agree that it's probably a wise choice to not call it Bloodborne Remastered just to avoid any issues w/ Sony. Once this project is complete I plan to toss you a healthy donation for all of your hard work on this. I'd much rather it go to you than Sony.

this progress is wild...love the modding insight and how stuff works in these games. bloodborne world/map is amazing and flying around it in editor is so cool.
I've used the TAA with motion vectors, a light touch of Gaussian blur and post process FXA with DS3 and it eliminates ALL aliasing and it's a game changer. It's soft, but you can go in with some minimal sharpening and get a great result. So excited for this!

Awesome project but please don’t forget to make it bright enough to be playable, especially for first timers.
Id be careful setting AO all to 1 .... there might be reasons why they set it to 0.3 at some places etc... u need to check the results with before/after images. Also, the anti-aliasing - would be best solved if FSR could be implemented, not sure its possible on emulator, but its open source. Native FSR AA could look really good.
I believe it can be implemented, just a matter of time.

this has been a really fascinating project to watch unfold. i really do feel like we are watching history unfold with all the progress being made on bb and the emulator.
So long as you aren't selling your mod for money Sony can't touch you. As soon as you start putting it behind a paywall, you're open to lawsuits because you're infringing on their copyright. It's why Yuzu died the way it did. They were fine until they locked instructions and optimized versions of the emulator for TotK behind their Patreon.
Modders can't really paywall their work anyway, unless it's a case such as the Creation Club for some Bethesda games. Good thing though, even if someone did so anyway, it shouldn't affect the emulator itself.

Okay but have you considered that many of us who just found your channel have gotten used to watching a new video daily? You're now obligated to assemble and entertain the "tall with natural heavy" enjoyers DAILY.
Do you guys remember the trailers for Bloodborne, especially The Old Hunters, and how much more dynamic the lighting and effects looked? I still think Bloodborne holds up today, besides obvious performance issues, so I don't advocate for a full-on remaster, but if we were to get one I'd like to see it replicate the style of those trailers.
Definitely would love to see a video on the anti aliasing, and how to implement the TAA mod you mentioned. Also would be interested in how it creates the motion vectors, works with them, and the possibility of implementing more modern solutions like DLSS etc

It’s funny because I always hate chromatic aberration, I turn it off in every game but I love it in Bloodborne for some reason. For one I think it helps cover some aliasing which is probably why they went with FXAA instead of blurring the image with TAA. But something about the CA alongside the highly detailed geometry is just very unique and nice looking to me.
Even IF Sony in the future is like "eyyyyy we're finally bringing it to PC officially" or remaster or whatever they do. Not a single person would care, bc we already have this. That's it, you failed Sony, the fans did it themselves cause your too arrogant. Keep up the awesome work man!!
maybe add an amygdala holding the famous floating statue, but like the others, he is not visible initially 👀

Out of curiosity, why do you want/need the lightning to be dynamic when there's no dynamic day/night cycle or skybox? In this case, is the baked lightning not a deliberate choice by the developers to create the visual they were after?
You are now the second protagonist to the ps4 emulator devs in bringing Bloodborne PC to glory.
I really dont know anything about this stuff, but can anyone predict slightly how long it will take till bloodborne is fully playable on PC without bugs and good performance via emulation? Right now it looks like every day would be a major improvement to the last, but I guess thats common with projects like these and the detail work is the long ongoing and hard stuff, where it can takes years and years. Really hyped for it!
three more months tops, and it'll still be a wip open to tweaks, adjustments and modding

so I'm not sure where to ask for these things and if you're even interested in changing the geometry/level layout, but one thing that always bugged me was how you can't get from the Chapel back to Clinic by foot, because THE DOOR at the bridge was permanently locked.. so I was wondering if it would be asking too much to make it into a one-way door that opens when you reach the chapel, thus making the map flow better? idk, it's just that one thing in the entire game that I would change, haha!

yeah there's a reshade mod for bb that's really cool. I'm also biased in that I have my remaster project mod and also separate mods just for the textures, disabling the player light, and I have an fps boost one that should help with stability and framerate.

No offence but I don’t agree with your art direction changes in DSR but the rest of the stuff in it is good!
Went for another run with the logarius wheel on my pos4 and I gotta say getting a single swing out with that thing makes you feel like it has a million recovery frames with the sub 30 fps and the horrid frame pacing. Couldn’t imagine how it feels with a smooth 60 at 4k. EDIT: I just have to say it is borderline unbearable to play on that thing anymore… jagged jank 1080p looks super blurry and the inconsistent framerate/frame times truly make you feel like you’re in a nightmare.

I just started messing with this program called Lossless Scaling, it's on Steam as a paid program, I'd be curious to see how good of a job it would do at upscaling.
I still can't get past the initial loading screen... the game just crashes and I don't know where to look for help

I'm just not a fan of the lighting changes. They're of course nice to play around with, but there is a reason why the areas were lit the way they were. A lot of the places now just don't look good because the direction is compromised. I'd much rather have a remaster that aims to up the fidelity and such, not something that tries to change the vision for the game.

I somewhat like the antialiasing in this game, it looks kinda glitchy at times but I've found a spot in Mergos loft that looked magnificent.
I also think the moving shadows are a nice underline for the nature of the game.

I bought bloodborne years ago excited to try it, but the awful performance optimization really ruined my experience. After getting used to 60+ fps on pc, playing bloodborne felt like I was fighting my ps4 rather than the game. I never finished it. I’m excited to finally experience bloodborne at a properly playable quality. This game is single handedly pushing my interest in ps4 emulation. Can’t believe Sony hasn’t remastered this game yet.

8:40 I'm not a coder or anything but i know elden rings AA is a low-high setting.(not sure what type) but maybe there's a AA setting in the base game files to increase the "intensity" of the AA.
hmmm, you mention you're increasing all of the ambient occlusion to 1, but that is really not a good idea... screen space ambient occlusion is *not* physically accurate, setting it to 1 will not make it more realistic, it's entirely an art style thing. Bloodborne already had it set where it matched what it needs for its artstyle. Source: I'm a low-level programmer with quite a bit of experience in graphics programming and some amount of experience in using game engine post-processing as well.
another idea for increasing the graphical fidelity of the game is: if you can get a programmer to work on a custom light-baker for bloodborne, you could bake it with full bounce lighting and that would be the *biggest* upgrade to bloodbornes graphics you could do. I know there is already software that can open bloodborne maps, so it's maybe possible to even get Blender to bake the lightmaps for you if you write a script to export the geometry in a specific way, and export the lightmap UVs for the level geometry along with it. You can use Blender Cycles as a lightbaker :)
