Hey guys, I'm sorry about my recent absence, I'm just having to focus on some other projects. So for the time being I probably won't be publishing as much until I sort them out.
We are just thrilled to see you are still grinding out great video content. I was shocked to not see your channel on the Hobbit Day playlist. Hope all is well with you.
Missed your content on The Hobbit Day playlist!! Love this channel, have a good one
We understand m8, just thankful you're still uploading. You're my favorite out of all fantasy related TH-camrs!
Hope all goes well for ya!
No matter the absence, I always look forward to your videos popping up!
Bombur teamed up with Melkor to eat the the two trees of valinor
Zing!
Hahahahahahaha
Hahah
I believe this really happened.🤣
Lmao
I waited through the 3 Hobbit films to get to Thorin's funeral, my favorite scene from the book..... Disappointment!
I wish they did Thorin's final moments more like the book
@@LV99guy personal opinion but I prefer the movies to books. I read LOTR before hobbit and it just never connected. Wish they added the funeral to actual movie and not extended adition though...
They showed a funeral scene in the extended edition but I feel it fell short
@@LV99guy I wish they did the movies more like in the book ..
The scene is in the extended edition and pretty cool imo
Balin was always ballin'
Ya know.. i miss the “TH” sound… also OIN.. Owen, kind of a difference there.
Almost every name totally mispronounced. It's like nails on a chalkboard.
I literally cringe every time I hear Owen, disgusting
Great video! Balin was always my favourite since reading the story the first time. I loved that he couldn't get over missing Frodo sneak back into the middle of the group while he was on watch.
You mean Bilbo ;)
@@szabok1999 haha! Yes! I kept doing the very same thing when I was making a video about Bilbo!!! I kept referring to Frodo while painting Bilbo on a barrel!
Can we point out how bad ass the dwarves are! In the face of death and fear, they take back Erbor and caught a battle of the ages. Let me just say don’t mess with the dwarves of durin!
dont forget Dwalin was also from the line of Durin... he might well as live longer than most
great video ;)
Late comment, but agreed! Aragorn lived WAY longer than the average human as well, due to his lineage. Dwalin was likely the same kind of deal
I'd really love to see a video on why Arigorn didn't use the dead army to destroy all of mordor's forces before releasing them. Huge fan of you guys, but saw a video recently about the dead army and want more content!
Unlike depicted in the films, the army of oath breakers werent able to act upon the living so outrightly nor with lethal force. Think of them as weaker than even the ring wraiths
Just gonna say thank you for uploading videos, even though it is less frequent, it is very interesting to watch your videos and the narrator is great
Ghermain’s Theme was a nice touch
Favorite Dwarf of Thorin's Company is easily Bofur. If I remember correctly he doesn't get much to do in the book or in the Rankin/Bass animated film from 1977 so my high regard for him comes from the Peter Jackson trilogy. I liked James Nesbitt's portrayal & his hat is freakin' cool.
Nesbitt irritates me as an actor, he really does.
As always amazing video, really love those dwarves, I was so sad when I first read that some of them died at Khazad-dum. @GeekZone just go step by step and bring us more and more amaing videos!!!!!
The Mines of Moria happened!!
Thank God Karl is still making videos!
Great video, keep it up :)
Very fascinating and intriguing! 👍🏼👍🏼
9:03 I cannot be the only one that heard that wrong. lmao
Curious why you use the hard T for all the Th spellings. It kind of makes sense for the dwarves, they’ve always had a bit of a Germanic feel to me, but Thranduil and mithril are elvish, and I’m pretty sure those should have an unvoiced th. I’m no expert and am open to correction, as I know JRR and C Tolkien have written on pronunciations.
Because that's just how they are pronounced by everyone, in every single movie, game and audio adaption.
Might be the similar case with Envy/Jealousy, both are different yet everyone just uses Jealous for everything.
i cant believe they didnt make a epic end for dwalin he was a badass dwarf
Him surviving the war of the ring is pretty badass!
Bumbur was an incredible fighter in his prime!!
Just because it bothered me for some reason. At the beginning of the video you say they defeated smaug as if the dwarves defeated Smaug. Bard killed the dragon, and with just 1 arrow.
Please buy the publications. The full version of the Silmarillion is like 15 bucks soft copy. Also you can get the Histories of Middle Earth for like 20 bucks 5 book set insanely in depth with incredible insight into his fathers work by his son Christopher. Buy the books people. Fucking read.
Bombur was important. he sat behind the gate
Thanks Karl!
it was a cool vid Robert enjoyed it
Great. Thanks. Always enjoyable. Good narrator
Why is this amazing lotr lore makin me cry in the club rn
good stuff! You're doing this for us....no worries!!!
Masterfully executed.
Thorin.....was the king dwarph name. Why i.keep hearing as Turin?
Same with Oin as "Owen" and Gloin as "Glowen"
Thorin*
Gloin*
Mithril*
And what a Dwarvish name Owen is.
Very curious how Sauron knew Bilbo had a ring of power when even his companions didnt even know.
Based on Gollum's intel no?
Yeah Gollum told them while they tortured him.
"Shire! Baggins!"
Gandalf knew
Who the hell is Tor-in & Glow-in? and wtf is mit-tril?
Great video, but you could improve the pronounciation of some of the names. For example: Thror, not Tror (same with Thorin) and Oin, not O-in
Who's to say that both dates of death aren't correct one could be by the counting of Men the other By the Dwarven calender.
Thanks guys
The name is Dáin, not Dain. This implies the pronunciation would be closer to "DAY-in".
Ai makes an "eye"- More like "Dah-een" than "Dane".
@@reneedailey1696 "DAY-in" is not "DANE". There are two syllables. In any case, single syllable "DAYN" isn't it. And neither is single syllable "DYNE". Your "DAH-in" could be close, if you are using two syllables.
Don't want to be rude but where is Karl?
A very tragic ending..
Torin??? Isn’t it Thorin
Also Thror’s ring. Not Tror’s ring right??
Sounds like the narrator is using a Norse pronunciation for the dwarf names. Which makes sense, as that's the origin of the names. Not something I've heard before, though.
Its Thorin, not Torin
mitril
Bombur lmaooo
Bro stop with the torin it's thorin oaking 🛡 shield
👍
"...and Torin was left grievously wounded" and so was my ears after that (and other) terrible mispronunciation(s)(..."together with Glowen...") from whoever this person is! I don't know who this person is but he lacks a certain something that Karl has, not sure what it is but I wasn't as engaged in this as I should have been.
Greetings! I wrote to you in the mail with a request for advertising and cooperation. I would be grateful if you answer.
Coulda been good but major failure
Great video, but have you mispronounced words, I don't mean offence, im just used to the way the movies and audio books pronounce them.
First
Disgusting video.. You know who brings in the numbers. ME!
Not these corrupted creatures
Evil cannot create, only corrupt.
@@spencerfrankclayton4348 free will is an illusion in my universe.. Remember what Illuvitar did to me, when i was practicing religion in Numenor?
This is interesting 🤔
@@lbanepa make me a ring pls
Why does he keep calling thorin "torin"? Almost every name totally mispronounced. Like nails on a chalkboard.
Norse will sometimes pronounce Thor as Tor. Idk everyone has their interpretation of pronouncing fantasy names.
Once again TH in Tolkien names and words are prounounced as an F so Thorin is pronounced Four-in, like Théoden is prounced Fay-oh-den. Thranduil is prounounced Frahn-du-ill. PLEASE, learn to say words and names of Tolkien right!
Also, Oin is not prouncounced Oh-in but Oi-n
Better have a word with Tolkien himself then, he certainly didn't say "Fay-oh-den". - th-cam.com/video/G6jhKEqtLxM/w-d-xo.html
