- The Dunedain received Sauron's eternal hatred after they brought about his defeat in the Battle of the Last Alliance, and Sauron would be hellbent on achieving his vengeance, and he tried he hunt down all of the descendants of Isildur. His servants were a threat to the safety of Aragorn, and so he was hidden in Rivendell and given a false identity. Throughout his early life he would embark on many quests and mingle with various tribes of Men, from the Rohirrim and the Men of Gondor in the West, to the far off lands of Harad in the South and Rhun in the East.

Viggo Mortensen embodied this character in such profound ways. One look at him, and you could feel the history that is being told here.
Viggo mortenson did a great time playing Aragorn even though he broke 2 toes, skinned his knuckles, broke a tooth, almost drowned, and almost got a real knife thrown into his face he didn't quit.
He was hired well into production and had to jump right into the fight scene on Weathertop without much prep time.
His son was reading or had recently read the lord of the rings, he said to his dad basically to take the role because Aragorn was so cool, so its his son to thank
Well he did get a haka for it so he was honored as a true warrior 😊
Viggo is a straight up badass, and not only that, but even a excellent skilled swordsman!

You're not going to see Aragorn in Amazons "LotR" series. The Amazon series is based in the second age not the third. It predates the third age by 2000+ years or so. The Tolkien estate will only let Amazon do the second age because Tolkien wrote the least material about that age and there is less for Amazon to screw up. Even then Amazon isn't allowed to put anything in their series that contradicts Tolkien's written work.

Aragorn got the best traits from two lines. The longer life span from Numenor Line and the wisdom from Elven Line. To me he is kinda the Earendil of Men.
Each chapter of his life is an entire season (4 to 6 episodes) on Netflix or Amazon. You could do 3 or 4 seasons, which tells you how rich of a backstory Aragorn has. Season one is his father's life and death, and Elrond adopting Aragorn. Season 2 is him at 20, going on Orc hunts with Elrond's sons, and falling for Arwen. Season 3 is Rohan. Season 4 is Gondor.

I've always been curious about when and why Aragorn passed through Moria the first time.
I started to get the feeling that Tolkien wrote that Aragorn traversed Moria before more to make Aragorn appear even more epic and less because Tolkien had a good backstory in mind 😅 And also, it is part of the reason why Aragorn first suggested to cross the Redhorn as to avoid Moria.

@@Batkoku Maybe... I have to check the dates. I think if that was the case, Aragorn should have known that Balin's kingdom ended (as he encountered no dwarves), but he does not mention at the Council of Elrond that Moria was lost to Orcs again.

Aragorn is humble kind, strong willed and with a heart of a warrior, and has a fine taste of women as well.. .is what I admired from him. 😊

Why didn't Aragorn bring Gollum to Lothlórien or Imladris? I have some ideas (and no good ones), what do you guys think? 😀
I want to drop here that Aragorn may have already been suspicious enough of Saruman to not traverse the gap of Rohan, but afaik the Beornings at that time held the High Pass, so passage over the Misty Mountains was possible it seems. The halls of Thranduil are further away from Dol Guldur than Lórien, though there are no strong geographical barriers between the first two locations.
I really love your videos but I actually prefer you narrating. I get why there’s this guy now but he’s almost too perfect, if you see what I mean. Prefer your authentic nature and passion that I just don’t see with this voiceover actor.
The irony being that despite this professional feeling he does not manage to pronounce Aragorn correctly 😉 (Or deliberately chooses to anglicise the names, which is boring if you ask me)

TLDR: up vote if you like the original narration style better than this new narrator.
I really miss the old narrator (who i assume is the fellow who runs this channel) He had an honest cadence to the way he told the lore and it was very relaxing and insightful to listen to. this new narrator (forgive me, it's not personal) sounds too NPC; if that makes sense. like, he's acting, his heart isn't in it. good story telling happens when your heart is in it. to me it was so clear that the original narrator for the geek zone videos cared deeply about the lore he was sharing and i think that had a powerful impact on the videos. the only digestible audio for ringlore i've found tbh.. besides rob inglis...
