10 years is a long time. It's the difference between being in the middle of high school and working in the middle of a post college internship. This vid, and many other shack tac community vids, probably and single handedly influenced what kind of games I've enjoyed and why I've pursued them for the last 10 years. These games have given me some of the greatest memories I could ever have been blessed with, as well as life long internet friends, and it makes me wonder how much things would have changed had I not fallen into the rabbit hole of these kind of videos. Also, Wilhelm scream at 3:10
I can't believe these were uploaded in 2011. Time flies man. Just noticed Kilroy in my Subscriptions. Decided to re-watch some of the old classics. :) Miss this content. And the ArmA hostage videos. Pure Nostalgia.
Nalby92 Ended up watching all the videos where Kilroy was a Hostage last night. Also 'The Death of Juliet' and 'Marg bar Amrika', which are by far my favourites. I just liked how Kilroy always added that bit of humour in a life or death situation.
While it wasn't the only one, this video was what essentially introduced me to Shacktac, and later the Arma series. I watched an old video by Criken about that Mount and Blade Napoleonic mod, which led me here and a few other Shacktac member channels after trying to search mode videos of that mod. Realized those channels played Arma, a game I never heard before, and I loved how they made epic Milsim scenarios. It was at the time when Chkilroy's Dayz videos were uploaded only a few months ago. Shame to hear about some of the drama surrounding Shacktac in hindsight, but I'll still never forget the good memories it gave me.
you guys were pretty good at melee here. I love when you brought a loaded gun into the melee charge that was awesome. That guy was not expecting to get shot in a sword fight.
Aw hell. This mod looks fantastic! Now I almost regret that Red Orchestra 2 is coming out today, haha. I almost want to play this mod right now, but it will have to wait a bit. Hopefully the community is still as great as it is in this video.
This particular game is still operating and the community is alive. Its gonna be a lot healthier in a few months when Holdfast: Nations at War comes out.
*flute music playing* *everyone shoots* *music stops* You hit the flutist! That will surely destroy their morale. I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF That is my new military tactic: GO FOR THE FLUTIST MEN!!
@symsfirehose yep each person is an individual player, but between the general and the infantry there're the regiments commanders, the captains, that are the ones that give orders to the regiments, each regiment has his own channel in a ts3 server. The general usually tells every captain what to do like conquest that hill, charge the enemy artillery, protect the left side and such. Each team is compossed of 8 to 12 regiments depending on how big the regiments are.
The game is called Napoleonic Wars and is an multiplayer expansion pack to Mount & Blade: Warband, you can buy it on steam. I recommend to buy the Mount & Blade Collection.
Well there was a tactic used, as far as I know, during the Civil War era where the lines where made of about 4 or 5 ranks. As the first volley was shot, the second rank would run past the smoke and shoot their volley, this was done consecutively by the other ranks until they where close enough to charge. I imagine this would be awesome if done in BAB
I own this game and ive been playing it forever. The game it self is called mount and blade warband and this is a mod called mount and musket. Its pretty much where you roleplay war in the napoleonic century and yah its areally fun game :)
This is the dlc,so yes.The sale is over now and Warband costs 20€ and the dlc Napoleonic Wars 10€,I bought those 2 and the 2 other Mount and Blade for 10€ though and have already played Warband for 57 hours,it's so much fun, specially "commander battle" which is basically custom battle online, but you only get 1 regiment of your choice.
@CHKilroy what do you guys use for talking? skype or ventrilo or sumthin? cuz i have this mod and i think it would be really cool to be in one of these battles even if im just a ranker =)
@FOX11GUY Considering the fact that it took a single soldier atleast a minute to fire two shots, it was the best way to fight a war. If they had fought the way we do today, in loose formations and small groups, firing whenever they pleased, they would have been very vulnerable to cavalry, and their fire wouldn't have been nearly as shocking.
This is sweet! I saw a game like this somewhere on youtube. Do they have Scots in this mod? I'd love to be the bagpiper :) I can't post the link but the title of the youtube movie is American Revolutionary War (with Battlegrounds 2) I looked up American Revolutionary War video game. Games like this are really fun.
Hurrah for old nosey* it's the nickname given to the Lord of Wellington, Arthur wellesley who was also the prime minister of britain. He had a whopper of a snozz.
This is a dlc for Mount and Blade: Warband called Napoleonic Wars,I bought the whole package with Mount and blade 1,MaB fire and sword,Warband and this.
For people who have questions on what game this is this is Mount and Blade Napoleonic wars it is a dlc of Mount and blade Warband and you can get it for PC on Steam
So is each person on the screen an individual player, all working together to win the game? and one person is just designated as the leader of the lines?
xepiczmex I don't know about mods for other games, but in Warband (including NW) formations are not difficult unless combat and terrain make maneuvering a bit wonky.

9 years ago now. Damn.
Just stumbled across this video and see a comment from 5 years back by myself saying how much time flies... lol
That pistol execution was epic at 5:55

Overwhelming nostalgia hit me like a truck
That first moment when the regiment is surprised on the hill and quickly take aim and charge afterwards.... HOLY SHIT... That was tense...
I was watching this video when I was 9 years old and had no idea what you guys were saying because I didn't know English back then but i didn't mind 🤣
thank you for keeping this vid up, im from the 87th Foot(we used to be the 29HA) but this was our first and most memorable LB as skirmishers.
Love the guy's voice when he says
"TAKE AIM.. TAKE AIM!! FIRE!
CHARGE! CHAARGE!"
Just thought of this video. Literally started my fascination with the Napleonic Era in Middle School. Now halfway thru college.
Time goes quick. Those were the good old days...
I allwayc come back to watch these
I think thats the best melee fighting I've ever seen by Kilroy and the BAB, well done lads!
I haven't even played this game and I love it lol
"Save the colours!" i also love the "Huzzah!"
you guys were pretty good at melee here. I love when you brought a loaded gun into the melee charge that was awesome. That guy was not expecting to get shot in a sword fight.
12:45 Excellent commanding and marksmanship. "I don't think they were expecting that kind of backlash." This looks awesome.
Finale for the New World Symphony in the background, love that piece :)
this Video is what started me with regiments back in 2015 then in 2019 retired but now i'm back into it :)
(Also 2020 anyone heh)
Nice rifle work in the first melee there, man. that was awesome.
Aw hell. This mod looks fantastic! Now I almost regret that Red Orchestra 2 is coming out today, haha. I almost want to play this mod right now, but it will have to wait a bit.
Hopefully the community is still as great as it is in this video.
teamplay at the highest level..super video!
Hey, I just served with you on the 25th, I was part of the Knight regiment! Good fight man!
The volley and melee at 3:00 was pure epicness.. I also like how the one guy said huzzah! And then all the other guys said it :)
Man this looks so soooo awesome !
If only this happened in my games
Same :(
This particular game is still operating and the community is alive. Its
gonna be a lot healthier in a few months when Holdfast: Nations at War

You hit the flutist!
That will surely destroy their morale.
I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF
That is my new military tactic: GO FOR THE FLUTIST MEN!!

Greetings BAB, nice videos! Good job being a strong competition in the line battle too!
This is one of the best things I've ever- oh... someone else just wrote almost that exact same comment. Well, I stand by my word! Freaking awesome!

Thanks dude.. Much appreciated..
Love the bit 'It's a scout! It's just one man!' 'READY AIM FIRE!'
The game is called Napoleonic Wars and is an multiplayer expansion pack to Mount & Blade: Warband, you can buy it on steam. I recommend to buy the Mount & Blade Collection.
i love how in the final melee fight the koniggratzer march comes on
This video had me in stitches. Hazar!
I love the lone "HOORAH!!" then everyone starts yelling
God, this seems ridiculously fun
It's actually DLC now, Mount & Blade Napoleonic wars. Check it out on steam, it was taken in, upgraded, and put back out as a dlc.
I wish we had been this organised when I fought in the Napoleonic wars.
Are you guys still playing? This is so well organised! I wanna be a part of those awesome battles. Just let me know :)
Well there was a tactic used, as far as I know, during the Civil War era where the lines where made of about 4 or 5 ranks. As the first volley was shot, the second rank would run past the smoke and shoot their volley, this was done consecutively by the other ranks until they where close enough to charge. This is surprizingly enjoyable to watch. XD

The game is mount and blade warband, The mod they are using is Mount and Musket, you can find it at moddb
when he said fire I thought he was going to say waste em
3:00 Disreguarded the charge order :'D
I have a question, I recently got a new computer and installed Warband, but I can't get the serial key that was in my other comp, what do I do?
you died 3 times in 15 minutes in a linebattle, that's pretty good.
That's because it's a Mount and Blade Napoleonic Wars addon, strangely enough.

It's on sale on steam right now,I bought it 2 days ago and have already played it 18 hours,it's Mount and Blade: Warband

is this a multiplier game or are you commanding armies? cause I would love to get this
Hey ChKilroy is BAB like your battalion, or something like that like a team tag or something?
This is one of the coolest fucking things I have ever seen...
Is this a mod for Mount & Blade? This is amazing. :D
This is sweet! I saw a game like this somewhere on youtube. Do they have Scots in this mod? I'd love to be the bagpiper :)
I can't post the link but the title of the youtube movie is American Revolutionary War (with Battlegrounds 2) I looked up American Revolutionary War video game.
Games like this are really fun.
Hey man! do you still play MaB? :)
Hurrah for old nosey* it's the nickname given to the Lord of Wellington, Arthur wellesley who was also the prime minister of britain. He had a whopper of a snozz.
oh sorry I was hesitating :p. This looks just like the DLC
love the moment around 8:50 u hear guy afterwards say "i dont feel right about this" lmfao
this game, line warfare, would do amazing as a console game
Napoleonic is also a mod. They're both mods. Just cos its a DLC doesn't mean its not a mod, its not a one or the other situation.
I MUST! Have this game!
This is a dlc for Mount and Blade: Warband called Napoleonic Wars,I bought the whole package with Mount and blade 1,MaB fire and sword,Warband and this.

Do you all use Vent for team chat??? also i'm looking to join a regiment on NW
Is it a mod for Mound and Blade ?

7:57 Damn, clean sweep by the EPI
Awesome! How do u download the game
What game is this? I've never seen it before, but it looks bloody good fun!!
ahhhh....the old days, Mount and Musket
For people who have questions on what game this is this is Mount and Blade Napoleonic wars it is a dlc of Mount and blade Warband and you can get it for PC on Steam
Thanks!!!
Except this isn't Napoleonic Wars at all.
Do you guys play on EU or NA servers
So, from what you're saying they are both DLC's to? They are both downloadable. Touchê.
So is each person on the screen an individual player, all working together to win the game? and one person is just designated as the leader of the lines?
actually, this is the original mod, "Mount and Musket" Before it became Napoleonic Wars.
@CHKilroy btw what regiment is your cuz it sounds like fun and i woudl like to join =)
This is a mount and blade warband mod which now is a DLC of Warband called Napoleonic Wars.
2:58 that was pretty epic indeed lol they sure didn't see it coming on their faces xD!
how do you get so many people to work together?
so I found out what game it was but how can I join your regiment?
whats the name from the song at the beginning?
Same mainly because its made by the same people, and just is more polished and has more things.
Bloody hell, is the formation coded in the game, or do you guys actually try to walk that way?
all player controlled
So no code/mechanic assistance whatsoever? No sticky formations? How do they pull that off? Looks difficult.
none whatsoever, most gunpowder mod units have training sessions once or twice a week, and yeah, its pretty difficult
xepiczmex I don't know about mods for other games, but in Warband (including NW) formations are not difficult unless combat and terrain make maneuvering a bit wonky.
