This is pretty impressing getting all these people together. Would be cool to have cavalry and artillery regiments and maybe even a skirmisher regiment but all in all very cool.
You probably figured it out by now but this is from Mount and Musket rather than NW. There is a fair amount of footage of MM events on youtube but not as much as I would like, sometimes I remember about a certain memorable event and struggle to find any footage of it at all on youtube. A shame more people didn't record stuff.
Back then war was a gentleman's sport. World War 1 was the first war with tanks(i've been told) And machines changed war forever. Now its about killing, not winning.
Great vid, looks like a lot of fun. I'll definitely have my eye on buying this. Only problem is that musket lethality looks a little high, it seems like victory is a matter of getting the first shot out :(
Rule of thumb: The ones who fire first - win. Simply because the enemy that shoots back has lesser shots to fire during their 'turn', due to casualties.
Clearly you haven't played Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars. Since the ones to fire first do so at the expense of proximity. Thusly they confer less hits allowing the enemy to take a shot even closer causing more casualties than they inflicted.
Indeed, the british took the better approach seperating the huge line into 2 regiments/segments/platoons, improves organisation and the british firing technique of everyone firing at once was much more effective than the fire by rank the french employed.
dude!! the english team consists of english people, american people and some french people, it seem t be joint effort here. which I find cool. and of course the french will shout "vive la france" why the heck wouldn't they? the english may shoult "england land of hope and glory" This clip made me glad, it's nice to see the english, the americans and the french get together and have a good time in the servers. I'm american by the way!!
And when the siege is over, we to the town repair The townsmen cry, "Hurra, boys, here comes a Grenadier! Here come the Grenadiers, my boys, who know no doubts or fears! Then sing tow, row, row, row, row, row, the British Grenadiers. Then let us fill a bumper, and drink a health to those Who carry caps and pouches, and wear the louped clothes. May they and their commanders live happy all their years With a tow, row, row, row, row, row, for the British Grenadiers.
dam i never thought you could play Napoleonic style wars in FPS, I've got napoleon total war but this is a new level, they just need to improve the graphics. BTW you guys are pretty well drilled for a computer game army XD
Not only that, the officers on the French side were just too slow in terms of getting their men lined up and firing. The Brits got the first volley and took down a lot of people, giving them the edge. For the soldier, speed is life.
Alright. last question, do you guys support a more casual player as long as they don't goof around when in battle? I have a job and soon I'll be in college so i doubt i could play as much as "Pros" do but I'm willing to follow orders or lead if need be I just don't have the time to play every day for long periods of time.
I'm curious , could there ever be a game such as this but with THOUSANDS of human players and better graphics , or even like an entire free world game with millions of players playing in battles like these in mount and blade . I'm sure something truly massive will come out eventually but i'd like others thoughts on whether it'd be possible or fun or you know , just your thoughts .??
It's kind of hard to explain but organization or moving and acting as one body made them more effective. If you've ever played TF2 pub matches you'll encounter what I mean, that cohesion goes a long way. Firing in formation actually maximized firepower and made them less vulnerable to cavalry charges. It wasn't until better guns that could range further, reload faster and shoot with greater accuracy that line infantry were rendered obsolete.
what are you waiting for? mount and blade and napoleonic wars together are only 30 dollars on steam and for 5 more you even get "with fire and sword" (the eastern european renaissance edition of the game) with it! also it runs on pretty much any pc. trust me the game is worth it, now most people would rather buy chivalry or war of the roses but m&b is a totally unique eperience (mainly due to the big amount of players on each server)
Wht i find strange is that at any given time there are about 1,500-2,000 people playing this game. But considering the amount of views these videos get, about 1 in 25 people who watch these videos actually play. (Not this particular video but others as well).
not even close. the musket shot a larger caliber ball but thats it. the muzzle velocity of a musket varies from 400-1200 ft/s while the muzzle velocity of a barrett is 2,799 ft/s
That is so awesome. Just started playing Warband. I plan on picking this up tonight!
Its amazing how coordinated you all are
the British troop's first line shoot was definitely excellent.
Discipline is beautiful. Impressive battle.
I love how the one guy told all the ranks to stand and fire or crouch. So epic.
Except they didn't fire and crouch by Napoleons period.
7:50 that's was stupid he send his troops to die
This is pretty impressing getting all these people together. Would be cool to have cavalry and artillery regiments and maybe even a skirmisher regiment but all in all very cool.
video starts at 4:50
I love the shortness of this video, please make more like this!
These good ol' times every1 who was a part of it thank you very much :)
Z4hnf33 Zahnfee! Hope all is well :)
I will raise the old guys to play again when your down message me on steam :)
***** can I join the 5th kgl I have mount and blades warrant Napoleonic wars now
Mount & Blade, you can find it on Steam.
The version they are playing is a downloadable content called 'Napoleonic Wars'
The charge reminded me of the intro to Age of Empires 3...
Thanks! :D Glad you enjoyed watching
Shame it was recorded on lowest settings.
It definitely is, was using a dell inspiron laptop back when i recorded this :(
+Matthew Kirchhof it's a shame there's no infinite bodies either
This is the coolest thing Ive ever seen o_o
Whoa, this is one of the coolest videos I have ever seen! I want this game.
Wow. Ive never seen this level of cooperation in any game.
Will remember that game. At the time I was in the EPI on the right of the British line. ~ Millander Capitaine of the 15e
You're right, I was exaggerating there.
But still, they are more powerful than many guns today.
Its worth it! Napoleonic wars is a fun game when you join a fun regiment!
Glad to see this game is alive. But im wondering which is better, Mount and musket or mount a blade napoliotic wars DLC
this is sick people actually play and work together i have to invest in this
i respect that, im a firefighter, and 343 of my brothers in the brotherhood died in the line of duty that day
that is awesome... I wana be in a disciplined regiment like this...
is this mount and musket or napolionic wars? im looking for footage of the original mod for warband to see what is different

Matthew, really cool videos! Thank you for introducing me. You just got a subscriber!
Love jow you just backd up to the back of the line after you started charging, and still managed to die. XD
Back then war was a gentleman's sport.
World War 1 was the first war with tanks(i've been told)
And machines changed war forever.
Now its about killing, not winning.
We were trying to synchronize the lines to have a fair fight. And thanks! :D

Not that bad a price for what you get. It's still just as amazing. I don't mind paying just to support the team.
DAMN NOSTALGIA RIGHT HERE
Let me cheer you up it's a great clip of an actualy meat grinding line battle and i loved it :)
Indeed, the british took the better approach seperating the huge line into 2 regiments/segments/platoons, improves organisation and the british firing technique of everyone firing at once was much more effective than the fire by rank the french employed.
I want to play a server like this...
Makes you feel like you're really there.
damn i have to get this game.ive always wanted to play a game like this with the lines and teamwork and such
dude!! the english team consists of english people, american people and some french people, it seem t be joint effort here. which I find cool. and of course the french will shout "vive la france" why the heck wouldn't they? the english may shoult "england land of hope and glory" This clip made me glad, it's nice to see the english, the americans and the french get together and have a good time in the servers. "Sir! Our flag man has gone mad! He's running down the line smacking men in the face!"
Are there any more huge regs that do formations and things like that anymore?
This is just simply amazing! WOW!
Nice to see a 1:1 scale units :P
surprising how cooperative everyone is
And when the siege is over, we to the town repair
The townsmen cry, "Hurra, boys, here comes a Grenadier!
Here come the Grenadiers, my boys, who know no doubts or fears!
Then sing tow, row, row, row, row, row, the British Grenadiers.

With a tow, row, row, row, row, row, for the British Grenadiers.
Dang it. I wish the french won
the fucking spoils tho!
God save the king
If that clip of him killing redcoats had a little sense of reality he would have been dead when the first line fired
dam i never thought you could play Napoleonic style wars in FPS, I've got napoleon total war but this is a new level, they just need to improve the graphics.

I was just wondering: Why do you hold fire for so long? Is that for tactical or roleplaying purposes?
Alright. last question, do you guys support a more casual player as long as they don't goof around when in battle? I have a job and soon I'll be in college so i doubt i could play as much as "Pros" do but I'm willing to follow orders or lead if need be I just don't have the time to play every day for long periods of time.
i want more big line battles. THat was cool
i never noticed until i read your comment, it was one of those mindfuck moments
I'm curious , could there ever be a game such as this but with THOUSANDS of human players and better graphics , or even like an entire free world game with millions of players playing in battles like these in mount and blade . I'm sure something truly massive will come out eventually but i'd like others thoughts on whether it'd be possible or fun or you know , just your thoughts .??
At least they didn't surrender immediately this time.
Now i wish there would be some kind of line battles in fire and swords :I
How much money does this game cost and do you have 2 own any previouse games to play it?
I think their clan/regiment/whatever symbol was the flag of the UK, but the team they were fighting on was France (hence the blue uniforms).
I like it how the British decide to break formation when the french charge, if they hadn't they would have lost a lot less men.
good idea frist covers while the other reloads pure genius =)
You should do a re-enactment of the final battle from The Last Samurai
From one Matthew K to another, nice video.

@VelocityGamerMedia Oh cool ^_^. I'm definitely getting this game! Once I've fixed the bugs on my PC, I'm jumping into the mass, sieging madness!
now dats how a real battle should be.
If i were to get this game along with the mod, it'd be the first fps game i play on PC. Are you guys fairly patient with rookies?
I miss mount and musket
How do I download it? Please answer. I like this mod and this legion, I already applyed to join. Please help, thank you.
Mount and Musket is still used. There are servers with hundreds of people playing.
Dude last time i checked this mod was unavailable because Napoleonic wars is coming out.
wow this requires a shitload of cooperation.
what are you waiting for? mount and blade and napoleonic wars together are only 30 dollars on steam and for 5 more you even get "with fire and sword" (the eastern european renaissance edition of the game) with it! also it runs on pretty much any pc. trust me the game is worth it, now most people would rather buy chivalry or war of the roses but m&b is a totally unique eperience (mainly due to the big amount of players on each server)
I was there too lol :D On the UK side.. 32nd :) It was huge linebattle indeed but on our side we didn't go as massive as this :P
whats the name of that pipe song played by the british in the second engaement?
Get the Napoleonic DLC. It's so worth it.
ok, i do not got this... why there are lots of videos named mount and musket? isnt this gme mount and blade: warband- napoleonic wars dlc?? O.o
@legoman6000 Okay, but how many soliders is there in 5th germans legion?
How many people play this still? A few thousand? I'd like to play if I could join a large group/Regiment and fight like this - so is this possible?
Mount and Blade Warband - Napoleonic Wars
@legoman6000 how long that ganna be on for?
That was cool I wish I could find people to do that
Wht i find strange is that at any given time there are about 1,500-2,000 people playing this game. But considering the amount of views these videos get, about 1 in 25 people who watch these videos actually play. (Not this particular video but others as well).
Thank you for making get this game i saw this video and i saved money and got it so i could do linebattles
Where can I get this game at?
Does it run on Mac also ?
@legoman6000 Ok, I am downloading program Desura, is that needed?
@legoman6000 if i am new to mount and musket, can i still join your regiment?
where do i need when the events take place?
Whats the difference between Mount and Musket, and Mount and Blade: Napolieonic Wars??
I actually bought the Napolean dlc before i realized that most people just play the mod. Do many people use the DLC or is it mostly Mount and Musket
Brits gave the frogs a good thrashing again :D
no, this is mount and musket, its an older version of napoleonic wars made for the first mount and blade
1) ys it is, check M&B Warband: Napoleonic Wars
2) $9.99 on steam, $35 for the Buy Mount & Blade Collection (M&B, Warband, F&S, NW)
because by the time the third rank fires, the first rank can fire again, and then the second. Its more consistent fire.
not even close. the musket shot a larger caliber ball but thats it. the muzzle velocity of a musket varies from 400-1200 ft/s while the muzzle velocity of a barrett is 2,799 ft/s
where do i find out when the events are?
They're probably usually a British regiment but were put on the French team just for the purpose of this.
where do i know when events take palce?
@legoman6000 Well if they start advance little earlier? Dunno is it possible though.. (soldiers packed too tighly)
I bought this game but it's not very good multiplayer unless you join a team. Where can I join a team?
why did you let them fire first? was it intended? :D
do some more like these plz
