    This video represents the gold standard in online language instruction. It rendered a complex topic enjoyable and easy to understand. If you also wrote and illustrated that little story, well, that would just be next level scary talent. Complimenti!🏆 ps: I thought you were a native English speaker, but when you said "dee" instead of "the" your cover was blown. Still, it's better not to lose your accent entirely because its sounds nice. It's like a bit of peperoncino added to your American accent.

      Why would you even comment on that excellent teacher’s accent??? If you learn Italian concentrate on Italian accent. I wonder how it sounds in your version…?

Grazie mille!

    This was a helpful video. Do you have a video about combining pronomi riflessivi e diretti? Including when using modal verbs?

    Sono d'accordo con altri. Superb structure to the lesson. Dopo l'aperitivo, è venuto il primo piatto, a written example to explore. Detailed analysis and comprehension to complete the lesson. Per aiutare col digestione, Links. Grazie mille.

    Do you know any kind of popular Italian ebook sites? I want to find children ebooks. Like, in the US we have "Easy readers" for children depending on their age level. But, i find it hard to find Italian kids books from the US..

    • @ItalianBites
      @ItalianBites  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ciao Lisa! Children e-books in Italian are not super popular, so my best bet would still be Amazon Kindle. Even if you go directly to the publishing house website, more often than not e-books are not available... The "easy readers" collection is an amazing resource in English, that unfortunately hasn't been replicated in Italian. HOWEVER certain dedicated publishers (e.g. Il Battello a Vapore or DeAgostini, for example) have their books organized by age groups.
      In general, if you are looking for books in Italian, I generally use the ibs.it website (they ship to the US too!) because they have a wider selection (and better prices) than amazon for physical books!
      I hope this helps! ;)

    Ciao! Potresti spiegare perché lei ha detto "mi sono dimenticata tutto" invece "ho dimenticato tutto"? La struttura grammaticale ha senso a me ma mi manca come si fa la scelta di usare il riflessivo in questo caso, anche "mi volevo mettere a piangere: invece di volevo piangere. Perché questi sono riflessivi?...e tanti altri🤣 grazie mille!!

    • @ItalianBites
      @ItalianBites  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ottima domanda Lisa!! In italiano spesso si usa il riflessivo come "tecnica" per far sembrare la frase più personale/sentita. Nel caso di "dimenticare" vs "dimenticarsi" entrambi indicano la stessa cosa, ma il riflessivo risulta più forte, ma il significato non cambia!
      Nel caso di piangere, invece la locuzione "mettersi A...[+verbo]" si usa per indicare l'inizio di qualcosa, quindi il significato cambia leggermente: mettersi a piangere = cominciare a piangere vs volevo piangere = sentire il bisogno di piangere. Di nuovo, la differenza è minuscola!
      Spero che questa risposta aiuti!!

    “Ci siamo trasferiti” Is a little confusing. So it conjugates sono, sei or è trasferito/a and siamo, siete or loro sono trasferiti/e. Correct? Anche è il errore “mi sono detta”? Mi sono detto ( I told myself)? Grazie: )

    • @ItalianBites
      @ItalianBites  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Esattamente Leslie! It would be mi sono trasferita (Martina), ti sei trasferita (Leslie), si è trasferito (Carlo) - quindi trasferito/a per il singolare, mentre come hai detto tu con i plurali (siamo, siete, sono) si usa trasferiti/e.
      For the same reason "mi sono detta" is tied to the example, as it could be "mi sono detto", or "ci siamo detti" etc. Remember that the agreement (-a/-o or -e/-i) it has to be there because the auxiliary essere always requires it! E grazie a te! :)

    Great video. Thanks for being so detailed.
    But I had to say... It's pronounced "mode AL" verbs. Not "model" as you're saying.

    • @ItalianBites
      @ItalianBites  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know... I have some trouble with pronunciation especially with "modal verbs" and "were vs where" if they are by themselves I can pronounce them correctly, but in context they become much more difficult... thank you for your feedback though, there is always room for improvement!! As I like to say: language learning is a looooong journey! ;)
