When HS2 is up and running and shown to be a great success, there will be a clamour to extend it. But we need to have a reckoning with certain narrow interests who have added enormous delay and costs to this very necessary project. I would suggest for starters, the BBC, Chris Packham, various MP's, most environmental 'charities' such as the woodland trust.
My sentiments exactly. Big mistake to cancel extensions to Manchester and the north. The country needs better infrastructure because our current system is F.D.
Nice views and futuristic music to go along with. Tubular HS2 shells ! Roundabouts are fair play !! These videos will be a great recorded history once tunnels are covered up. Reading the other comments and background this green tunnel really may be overdesigned for its purpose; so is providing an expensive training ground. However, if in the future this area becomes a military, commercial airfield, or developed area then the tunnel is probably good futureproofing.
This is all part of my process. I want to document the entire impact especially the finished article. Look how the GCR has recovered just 60 year after it closed. Its going to be very interesting and probably another 40 year of content befor its completed 🤣🤣🤣
Good question. Its like people are reading my mind. I am starting slow and gentle, however, my aim is to start targeting the work force and ALL the failings with voice over explaining what you are seeing in said video. I am a new channel so please stay with me. My content will improve massively over the next few weeks. 👍🫡
@davecooper3238 Hi Dave. So HS2 originally stated in their proposed plan for this Green Tunnel that it would be invisible at ground level, fully covered over and flat as the landscape was before so it can be returned back to the original landowners and continue to be farmed (the parts outside of the old RAF station that is). This cannot happen now as they were unable to go deep enough, so this now means that there will be earth mounded over the length of the tunnel up to 20/30 feet high, just like Catesby Tunnel. This was also part of the reason I thought I might document this part of the project so everyone can see how far they veer off from the original plan.
What a colossal waste of money. Just plant the cutting and move on. This obsessive and OTT greening has cost us the further legs. Where's the value engineering when you need it.
It is the most hideous build of all time, a blot on the lanscape and unnecessary distruction of nature. Heads should role but they won't. One of our local roads has been closed for 7 years ! And who is going to want to ride on a train with no view, all that time in tunnels
Wonderful project

Once they have completed it all, they will have done some re generating of the land.
Good video though 😊

thanks 4 this, any chance u might catch the bears working ,or how many parts they put together in a day ,that u know of

It may be worth looking at a satellite view & deciding it the tunnel is displacing farm land.
@@davecooper3238 there are 3 fields between the A361 and COMSITE 3 (Rift Airsoft) all Arable land!!!
Will this eventually be filled in/buried and landscaped over.
Yes BUT not as promised!!
@@WTFdroningWhat was promised ? What is promised now ?

@@WTFdroning But you did not do that. Why should anyone believe you now ?
@@davecooper3238 sorry I dont follow. What have I not done?
As always optimists will think that HS2 is a good idea and pessimists won't.
