Thanks for posting. Site looks a bit of a mess at the moment (HS2 taking quite a lot of land, both permanently and temporarily) but hopeful that once all the haul roads have gone, the earthworks landscaped and trees planted etc the impact is going to be a lot less than many people are expecting. Hope I am right! ;-)
HS2 has been advertising its biggest projects, the Colne valley viaduct, the Chiltern tunnel, the motorway bridges with great ceremony. This stretch looks like an afterthought. Sadly I know what's disappeared here. Halse Copse was beautiful before HS2 sliced a corner clean off. And now those trees on the west have no protection from the prevailing wind, so I doubt the felling has ended yet
@@WTFdroning Soon be sorted! It will be interesting to see this landscape in a couple of years time and also once the tracks are in. Keep up the good work with the drone flights, very interesting and a great historical record. Looking forward to seeing the line extended to Manchester. It will happen. Many thanks for the video.
@@ToddingtonTed.. you can kiss goodbye to the line being extended to Manchester. Labour will win the election & in a January interview, Sir Keir Starmer stated they have no plans whatsoever to revive the line, saying .. "it's not possible to do as the Tory government have blown the budget & contracts are going to be cancelled". As for the environment, are you aware that HS2 Ltd have already incurred numerous fines for multiple breaches of environmental issues? Thousands of trees planted along the route in Warwickshire where the vast majority perished due to lack of aftercare. The pollution of streams, rivers & other waterways. The bulldozing of mile upon mile of hedgerows containing nesting birds when they specifically said they'd wait until the nesting season was over .. the list goes on. HS2 is an environmental disaster of epic proportions & Britain's biggest infrastructure mistake in half a century.
In 2 years time it will all be green apart from the trackbed. The big areas appear to be carefully sorted piles of topsoil, subsoil and other excavated material. Obviously this will all be put back. Have a look at the new areas of chalk grassland at the southern end of the Chiltern tunnel. Some good engineering going on.

i actually saw all of this last year when i was returning from Los Angles, makes you realise how much damage has been done to the land in question

Ploughed straight through the RAF Transmitter site I worked at for near four years. Only the technical buildings left standing.
@@GluteMaximuz where abouts was that? I love history especially military/RAF so I'd like to have a look around that if possible.
is that greatworth hall? gosh i didnt realise the railway line was going to run so close to it.
Sadly, yes. Its a total traversity. I have more videos to come of this stretch so i apologise if they upset you 😤

i don't think the original railway pioneers ruined the country side to this degree
