    5:35 Not surprised that it fired up. Those Lithium Ion MC batteries are amazing. I had an older bike that V65 that needed a lot more cranking power to turn over and well lithium ion battery easily did the job. Fired up with ease/

    I bought one of these yesterday through amazon and it was delivered this morning. I put it on the charge early this morning so I will be able to test it later when I get home. My old battery was original on my 2020 MT-09. It would charge but wouldn't start the bike.

    Your collection of bikes totally pisses me off (in a jealous way). Great video and review and demonstration. Just ordered one!

    I just bought one for my Buell that eats batteries. Seems I've had to replace AGM batteries every year or two with this bike, with the exception of the original. It lasted 4 years. Im hoping the Noco will last a few years.

    Thinking about going and getting one. They got one at walmart that fits my cycle. My yuasa that i bought 2 years ago has been weak from day one, even though i keep trickle charget on it and ride almost everyday. checked voltage and motorcycle is charging correctly.

    Thank you Chris, I too tried a Noco NLP14 Lithium battery, fitting in my Honda VF750C1, its working a treat for nearly two years, I'm wondering how this Noco battery will show signs of failure. I'm just so used to, how standard motorcycle batteries fail. I cant quite understand how the Noco will show tiredness. Any ideas Chris.?? Thank you. Regards Pete

      I’m only guessing but if it’s like all my other lithium ion batteries it will not hold a charge as long as it starts to age. That being said, I’ve had results so good with other lithium ion batteries that there really is no comparison to the older technologies. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.

      Hi Pete, I have a VF700c magna 87`, do these batteries need anything extra for old bike electric systems ?

      Well if its fails like a standard battery when it drops a cell your wont get any warning at all, Ive just a Lipo battery fail totaly today, this morning the battery seemed fine but had a hard time starting the bike but eventually started, road the bike 500m to the servo to fill up, had hard starting again, road 300klm home, stopped the bike with the kill switch & left the ignition on to test battery voltage drop (12.7vdc), 3 minutes later the battery was down to 9.6 vdc & is compleatly dead, bike wont even start with a jump pack connected to it so I expect it shut it itself down for protection, time to order another battery.

    How do you deal with protecting the positive terminal? Their multipoint system makes it very difficult!
    I just put the NLP14 in a bmw r1200gsa, and a KTM rc8r. They both crank over much better than the ytz14s ever could.

      How did you find the fit with the original cables on the Rc8r and how snug does it fit in the original battery space? 👍🏻

    • @thebigbail
      @thebigbail 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mikehbomb69 The fit is perfect, and the factory cables worked. I did straighten the 90° end on the ground cable. If I was doing it again I would go with the Antigravity battery which has standard posts.

    Great review, thanks. I'm considering one of these because my 04 1200 sportster is hard to start on a battery after about 2 years time, and I can't fit anything larger than 220 amp battery. At $100. + for a lead-acid battery this may be a good option.

    Great battery. My daily rider has never started so fast. No charging, no battery tender for 3 months so far.

    Any update on their long term abilities?

      @@ShannonMoyle I currently have this battery in two of my bikes, the Honda V65 saber from this video and my BMW GSA 1200. The battery in the BMW has been fantastic from day one and it’s been a little over a year now. I experienced problems with the battery in a Honda and I have another video that details that. If you haven’t watched it, I ended up having to return the battery and have it replaced. That video is probably worth a watch as I was unsure if the clock on that bike was enough of a parasitic drain to kill the battery while I did not have it on the charger.
      The support experience with NOCO was very good and they replaced the battery in no time at all. The replacement battery continues to work to this day. That bike is currently wintering in my unheated garage and as a test I have left it off the charger for up to a month at a time in 20 to 30° weather. The point of this is to see if the drain from that old LCD clock is enough to actually damage the battery. I have had absolutely no issues with the replacement battery and even after being in the cold for a month and not on the charger the bike fires right up. That being said, I believe there was an issue with my original battery and the tiny current drain from the clock had nothing to do with it. My recommendation is of course to keep these batteries on the charger when they are not being used for extended periods of time just like any other battery. The performance in my opinion when these batteries are functioning correctly is significantly better than traditional lead acid batteries and I will be continuing to replace my old batteries with NOCO batteries as I need to. I’ll be posting a follow up video in the spring. Thank you for watching.

    I have a noco emergency starter, it won't start my 250cc motor that a can pull start by hand, so I am skeptical 🤔

  • @timlong1462
    @timlong1462 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm very curious about one of the NLP14's for my Johnson 25 outboard. Just to crank the starter, then have a big LiPO for the trolling motor. I could remove almost 60 pounds out of my little 14ft boat with that combo.
    These basically seem like a jump pack with less focus on high CCA and more start's possible. I'm just worried about some of the reviews about fires/smoke and also many saying they haven't lasted long. How long have you been using these?

      No it charges off the motorcycle like a regular lead acid.

    there are issues when using a lithium battery I don't know the solution but I do know what the problem is. lithium ion batteries are designed not to Output anything if they can't deliver at least 13.2 volts. the problem this creates is the Honda charging system will not output anything when it sees that there is 13.2 volts available. and once the battery drops below 13.2 it shuts itself off and now there's not enough power to charge. and you are dead in the water.

    Bought for my Yamaha Viking side by side. Lasted less than six months and wouldn’t take a charge. Had bike tested and no electrical problems. Put $110 lawn motor battery and everything is good. Very disappointed in the NoCo battery. Waste of money
