I have a NOCO battery maintainer to install on my Diesel pickup. I don't drive it that much and the computer runs the batteries down . On my Motorcycles and snowmobiles. I have a Cigarette Lighter/ USB charger. I unplug that and hook a battery maintainer into that. Eklipse is the brand I will send a link. half an amp is all you need to maintain a motorcycle battery. I have had Battery tenders for years and a couple of them now boil over truck batteries. I do have a couple of maintainers that claim they will disulfide batteries. Optima is the brand.
@@BeardedBreeden1 Looks to me like the NOCO Cables are a nicer looking Product, but the Eklipse is much cheaper and works just find for Jumpers.. SAE battery maintainer cables .. and a USB and Cigarette Lighter port hardware. NOCO makes nice battery chargers and maintainers.
I have my Harley in a community garage and I can not put a battery maintainer, but I have the Harle starter and I have been told that with a two-port SAE adapter I can put it in the USB output of the starter and do as if it were a maintainer, although I would have to put it once a week for it to work. is it possible?
I bought the same 1000 amp booster 2 years ago and love it. I got it for the SUV ( V8) and it's worked fine. Three jumps on the truck before I had to recharge it. I have had to use it several times on others vehicles since then. I have a set of jumpers in my new truck but I still keep the pack in it also. Totally recommend everyone to get one and now I just need to get a tender for the bike.
Good video. I have just ordered a similar setup for my Ultra Classic. But went with the 2 amp charger/maintainer after an electrical engineer friend told me that the 5 amp I wanted could damage my battery. I checked my battery and it says right on it max charge rate 3.2 amps. Further investigation shows that the max charge rate is equal to 10% of amp hour (Ah) rating of your battery. Mine is 32 Ah X 10% = 3.2 amp max charge. Just trying to help a brother out, I ordered the GB40 as well and neither have to ever use them.
Thanks for the video on the Noco products. Both sound like good choices for bikers. Like your videos you are very informative and you make it simple for anyone to understand. Keep up the good work. Be safe brother man.
Can that SAE converter be used for GB40 booster as well? To plug the jump starter via the SAE tender on the bike?
Where do you get the adapter that runs from your bike to hook up the charger? Harley? (Not the SAE)
NOCO has a store on Amazon and I found it there. If you don’t find it there let me know.
