  • Join us on a budget-friendly adventure as we explore the charming city of Siem Reap, Cambodia! With just $2, we hopped on a tuk tuk and toured around town, taking in the sights and sounds of this bustling metropolis. Our first stop was Beer Street, where we sampled some of the local brews and chatted with friendly locals. Then, we headed to a nearby street food market, where we tried some delicious and authentic Cambodian dishes, including the famous chive cakes.
Next, we made our way to the king's residence . From there, we ventured into the mystical Bat Forest, where we witnessed an incredible display of thousands of bats taking flight at sunset. To cool off from the heat, we stopped by a fruit shake stand and indulged in some fresh and refreshing drinks.
Last but not least, we visited a small city in the temple and marvelled at the ancient structures and intricate carvings. Overall, it was an unforgettable day full of adventure, culture, and delicious food. Come along with us and discover the hidden gems of Siem Reap!

The thick noodles are originated in Cambodia and it is believed to be invented by the Sino-Khmers (Cambodian-Chinese) long time ago. ❤❤

The cake at 14.00 is called Kuchhay Cake (នៅគួឆាយ) a crispy garlic chive dumpling made from Chive leaves blended with rice powder and deep-fried and eat with sweet sauce and chilli sauce.

You both have lovely accent. I visited the place back in the 60s before the civil war was erupted. Only memory lives on. Cheers! 🍷

Enjoyed your video. Siem Reap is a fun place for a few days. Loved Angkor Wat, especially with a camera in my hand. Will definitely make it back one day, but by bike!. The journey is long, buts that's the fun of it. Happy Khmer New Year 🥰🥰

The name "Siem Reap" comes from the Khmer language and is derived from two words: "Siem" meaning "Thais" and "reap" meaning "defeat," referring to the ancient conflict between the Khmer Empire and the neighboring Thai Kingdoms. The name is said to commemorate the victory of the Khmer King Ang Chan over the Thai forces in the 16th century. The name Siem Reap literally means 'Siam defeated'.
