Stitch along: Let’s celebrate the seasons with flowers!
Below is a basic outline of the project. Starting on the 1st September 2023.
Select 4 floral prints that represent the 4 seasons.. I’m starting with Spring but you can start as you wish! It maybe Autumn for you !
Cut each piece to size depending on how you wish to present them at the end. I plan to use a rolling pin .. rolling them up.. as the season finishes ! My floral panels are 11.5” tall x 8.5” wide
In my first video I show the 3 I have selected so far .. I’m still working on autumn, as I have not found something just perfect!
I then recommend a backing fabric to stabilise the pieces.. can be a long single strip or a piece cut for each panel of floral fabric. At a later date joined.
    ADD IN’s
This is a list of items added to the piece to complete it.. these items can be gathered and set aside throughout the year ready to embellish your panels!
    1. Add in a Critter.. select a bird or butterfly or bee or bug or animal that complements the piece ! Stitch it in!
    2. Words .. add a phase or poem.. about the season. Can be stitched or added as a preprinted element..
    3. Variety of threads and ribbons to embroider the flowers and critters…painting in threads
    4. Background fabrics little bits to make your piece look textured .. linens .. ticking.. silks.. cheesecloth!!
    5. Extras flowers.. fussy cut out extra flowers to add to your piece.. helps to create the extra texture.. bits for vintage doilies if they suit your panel. Pre-made flowers can be collaged into the panel
    6. Lace bits to add even more texture. Used within flowers or used in the background.
7 and finally beads and sequins to give your piece bling.. old jewellery can also be used.
I plan to post the videos as needed within my current projects.. we have three months per season so plenty of time. There is no schedule to follow just the change of the season.

Thank you Corrine for your video. Well I have a dilemma, every time you start a new season it becomes my favourite. Brilliant to use a backing fabric and teeny tiny bits of lace, no waste and every bit used. I never think of Australia having anything other than brilliant sunny weather all year but like all countries I suppose it changes by region, it sounds like your new abode may mean a gentler winter for you. Hugs to Fudge,Pepper and Bandit.

Your winter will be gorgeous, as is all of your work. It won’t be Christmas tho, this round finishes the end of August. 🤗

Corrine, would you mind doing a “sneaky knot “ demo? Thank you.

It’s just a simple knot.. like when you tie a shoe lace.. it just stops the thread from falling out all the time. It has been a game changer for me!

Corrine, I am so addicted to your channel. As a newbie, from the US where handiwork does not seem as popular, may I ask what is the gray, felt looking mat all of you slow stitchers seem to have? Where do you purchase this mat? Thank you.
Ps. We are in Spring here in the Midwest. Gardens going in, farmers planting soybeans and corn, little calves, lambs and goats in the fields. It's my favorite season.

Welcome to my world.. the Matt is a Wool Ironing Matt. Available in different sizes.. The quilters use them to press seams., saves having an ironing board in your space. As a farm kid Spring was my favourite time, the farm was so busy.. thanks again for joining me! Enjoy your stitching journey!

You create such beautiful pieces. 🤩🤩🤩
Also, is the sneaky knot a double knot up by the needle??
    Thank you so much!
