@@richardharrold9736I would agree for certain. After Nirvana, which was short lived, Kris never played with anyone else… at least not to my knowledge
Notice how 2 of the guests are connected to Nirvana - Krisp and the one from Hole… then take into account Geddy’s close ties with Dave Grohl, also Nirvana…
It appears to me that Dave still stays in contact with Krisp and the Hole bass player, and was most likely the one who talked to Geddy and got them that gig… perhaps they really needed the money for their time… who knows
But no one knows who those two are. You say their names and few can actually match them to Hole and Nirvana.
As for Robert Trujillo… both Geddy and Les Claypool are directly linked to Metallica and have been for a long long time.
If I remember correctly, Les was almost Cliff Burton’s replacement. Like, they really wanted Les in the band. Geddy Lee was supposed to produce And Justice For All, but had to back out at the last moment

You don't get to his level without being a massive geek. However, it is extremely unusual, statistically speaking, for anyone of his massive geekitude to get that famous and be that cool. Good to see Geddy flourishing after the end of Rush and of course the deep loss of his dear friend and bandmate Neil Peart.
Geddy has never been one to like to sit around much (nothing wrong with that though!), so I thought, besides his 2 books (one on bass guitars, one a autobiography due out Nov. '23 and 500+ pages!), he'd be up to something else soon!
I just thought it would be new music (he is rumored he's working with Barenaked Ladies' Ed Robertson on "new music" so we'll have to see if that materializes, and who knows what he and Alex might be doing together: they get together and jam pretty regularly from what I understand); so this is a delightful surprise! A show about a legendary bassist interviewing other legendary bassists and showing that they are not one dimensional (all they do is play bass/write music), but normal, well rounded, people is interesting, and the best part is that Geddy's good humor, warmth, affability, humility and just general decency interacting with fellow humans will be on display, something we could all be reminded still exists in many people today...even famous ones.
This will be my comfort food watch this late Fall/Winter!

It helps that his brother, Allan Weinrib, is a documentarian by profession. Allan created and produced this documentary. Geddy is, of course, a supremely talented individual with intelligence, wit and charisma to go on for days, the perfect subject to put in front of a camera. Even though I'm not privy to the personal relationship between these two, I'm willing to bet that that having his brother behind the camera made things a bit easier for Geddy.

Geddy and Alex owe us all nothing. That being said, I'd pay almost any price to see them tour one last time. Get Danny Carey or Stewart Copeland on the tour. Or just set up The Professor's kit and play his drum tracks. I don't expect this but it would be great to have closure. As I said, they owe us nothing and nobody has the right to expect anything from them but I hope they decide to tour one last time or possibly do a residency somewhere.

Musicians get a bad rap as being one-dimensional. There needs to be more shows that gives us a glimpse into their every day lives, interests and ambitions beyond music. Can't wait for this to be released.
