Bro thanks for being honest with us. I’m using the exo scorpion too for the last 5 months and still super happy with my purchase. Greetings from Portugal ❤️
Scorpion helmets are the best value for money helmets in my experience. For street I used Scorpion R710 also because sticking a GoPro for my vlogs was a lot easier. When I started making track videos for my channel, I got a Scorpion EXOR1 which is less than half the price of other brands' helmets, it's just a bit tricky to stick a chin mount on that one.
I love scorpion I decided to get the scorpion exo r420 and it is an amazing helmet your videos really helped and I will continue to go with the scorpion brand from here on out. Thanks!!!
Scorpion is on it with a some of their helmet offerings. They could have done a better job with the AT960; Setting it up for a proprietary comms system was a bit of a bonehead move and those modular helmets tend to be heavier. I went with an XT9000. It cost me $500, but it has a carbon fiber shell, the AirFit system, airflow is good, the front vent cover is removable and comes with an action cam mount, emergency pull tabs, and it still comes with the clear and tinted pinlock ready shields with a pinlock insert. Field of view is great. So I'd say it's still a value at $500. The peak on the XT9000 is removable for more of a clean street look, but I like the extra sun protection, and it hasn't caused any head turning at 55 mph. I haven't been on any highways where I needed to go faster than 55, but I've seen input from others saying they haven't had any head turning issues even at higher speeds. Scorpion is definitely worth a look for anyone looking to buy a helmet.
Just bought it two weeks ago in white color and absolutely love it! Most important part is ECE 22.06 rated which more expensive counterparts aren’t! Ventilation is great too
The ECE marking is for us euro guys, it's the Economic Comission For Europe. The marking they need is DOT. In the US it's the Department of Transport. 👍
@@benmanning4340everyone knows the US DOT safety is shit. ECE 2206 or the older 05 is waaaay better. Snell would make it top notch too. It goes without saying but if it's ECE, then it's definitely DOT
@@benmanning4340 yes for sure. The new ece 2206 has better testing standards for safety compared to DOT. So I prefer to get helmet thats both DOT and ece 2206 certified
I'm on my second scorpion helmet. First one came from the HD dealership. Figured out it was a scorpion . Bought my second one off Amazon. It seems to fit well and is light.
Bell has a great helmet in this price range and even cheaper fwiw. I think it’s called the eliminator and then there’s also one that’s priced higher but includes the “auto tint” / transitions shield. even the $150 version has a better liner than my old shoei.
You're comment on being ok replacing it every few years is honestly what you'll have to do. My friend bought a scorpion exo a year after I bought my hjc Rpha70 and his lining is already deteriorated, the chin strap button fully ripped off. And he rides less than I do. It's about 5 years old. 6 years in my hjc and it's still in good shape. Great review. Very thorough. Looks like a great choice for someone on a budget
I remember riding my gsxr 600 and switching over to my friends mt07 at a stop light, and hating how floaty the front end is because it doesnt have inverted forks like a sport bike so it felt like you had no feeling in the front. More soft and comfy on the street, but zero feel
Comparable to an AGV K5 at half the price? Definitely gonna check out Scorpion for my next lid. The air flow on this one is a bit of a deal breaker though. Did you get any better flowing helmets from Scorpion to try?
Scorpions a great budget company but I also really like HJC’s budget options. My $80 HJC is comparable to that Scorpion with similar performance and comfort and has the same safety ratings
I have a similar visor mount in my Shark helmet, it is very fragile and breaks off in couple weeks/months, which means buying two visors a year. Maybe Scorpion uses better material but spending additional money on a yearly basis just to use the helmet made the Shark pointless
My favorite is the Scorpion T520 Factor. Love that helmet. Very quiet, good ventilation. I haven't experienced an expensive helmet though, so I don't have anything to compare it to.
@@MPGY246-qi6xi it's a very good helmet. Like I said though, I've never experienced a shoei or Arai, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I also got the speed&strength ss109 or whatever it is. The $110 one. If that's all you're able to get, go for it. Not bad. But I'd recommend saving the extra 100 and get the scorpion. World of difference.
Love Scorpion brand. When I was looking for a first, good helmet, I went through a few before finding this brand and it was a perfect fit. Such a good price point, too. For the ventilation - is it possible it didn't feel like the top vent was open or closed because the lower vent was closed? I always thought the two kinda worked in conjunction with each other. But I could be wrong.
Hey a quick question: if i have a small head is it ok when i buy a helmet that fits XS-M? Cause i want to buy a scorpion helmet as they don’t have a lot of showey showey stuff
The 'best' one is only the best if it actually fits you. Not one of the Scorpions I tried, fit my shape of head and caused major discomfort from pressure point issues.
Yes bro! Fully faired with clip-ons, high pegs and screaming inline 4 is the only way to go! Get that R6. I daily a CBR600RR There’s no need for a bike to be super comfortable but that’s just my taste
you should test the hjc rpha 70 also very popular helmet, only thing i dont like is it uses diffret size chart than standard so L for me was to tight when a normal L works perfekt
How's the aerodynamics on it at high speeds on a naked bike for example? I have the R420 and was questioning if this or the R1 Air would be next helmet for me.
Unrelated to the helmet but bro I know what road your driving on, I thought I recognized that mini golf course then I saw you get off the freeway (that I'll leave unmentioned) and kinda freaked out. That is so cool

However I own an R7 and it handles real good in comparison.
I had the scorpion exo-r420, at highway speeds over 60mph the wind noise in the helmet was horrible. I sold it to a friend for an atv helmet and i went out and picked up the shoei neotec 2. I just had to modify the shoei so bugs didn't get in.
Would it be overkill to get a helmet like this for my talaria sting r? I’m in the market for a new helmet but don’t really want to get another motocross helmet and who knows maybe this will encourage me to get an actual bike
The only thing that annoys me is how light the smoke is on the free visor, it’s virtually the same as the clear visor!! I understand it’s in order to keep it legit for the ECE rating, but even trying to get a “black” visor (for track use, obviously lol) is completely impossible here in the UK. I’ve even contacted Scorpion Europe & they can’t help. Scorpion USA were going to help, until they found out I’m in the UK then I just got fobbed off. For me, it’s a deal breaker, especially when I can get a Biltwell lane splitter with a proper dark visor for about the same price & to be honest for me, the Biltwell is slightly more comfortable, but obviously no control over the venting like you you have on the Scorpion.
