      Hello Palinskitchen..
      I had no coco water on hand so tried it with apple juice. It was already sweet but one set I could have added sugar. However, citric acid beverages can disrupt the recipes chemical reaction I think?
      What other water other than coconut can we used. I would love to know.

    Pai, couldn't you pour a little of the agar coco water at the bottom, let it set a little bit (just a tiny bit) and then add the fruits and fill it up? That would ensure that the fruit doesn't sit flat on the bottom? Or would it not be one big block anymore, but two?

    I used blueberries, strawberries and grapes, and failed terribly as the agar agar did not set. Perhaps the culprit was grapes, your video used strawberries and blueberries.

    Hi, I LOVE this and I was wondering, if you could ever dehydrate it? I have a batch of agar snacks for my dogs where I dehydrate agar with blended fruit juice, but for a prettier presentation, I was wondering if I could dehydrate this with the fruit and if I could, would you recommend dehydrating the fruit before pouring agar liquid and then dehydrate again once agar is solid? Sorry if this is a bit confusing.

    • @violetviolet888
      @violetviolet888 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't try to dehydrate these with fresh fruit in them because they would have liquid. Freeze dried fruit would work.

      Hi Sabrina! Nope agar agar is a solid at room temperature ... but it WILL leach water over time. Cheers! Adam

    I did a trial run with a half batch. I used what I had on hand. I used unsweetened tangerine water with Blueberries and Bananas and it looked so pretty and was really refreshing. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.

      Hello Dr.by.2nd. Just a quick question as I was curious about the tangerine water u used. As I had no coco water on hand and tried it with apple juice one time and syrup from canned peaches the second time; not what I hoped.😢 It seems it leaks liquid. Did the citric acid in the tangerine water not upset the recipe? What else would you use other than coconut water and any acidy drink?
      I was perhaps thinking 'Mio' flavored water essences?

    Black grass jelly (Leung Fun) with aloe Vera cubes is another level. Ingredients: Black grass jelly cubes, aloe Vera cubes, rock sugar, pandan leaves, ice cubes (pepples size if you have). Method: Aloe vera boil. Rock sugar & pandan leafs boil. When aloe cooked and cool. Add in Black jelly and sufficient syrup, add ice serve.

    Jello (gelatin) packets also do not recommend using fresh guavas, mangos, or ginger root.

    I tried the agar-agar jelly and they were absolutely a treat. I used pieces of coconut flesh as one of the flavours and that was really good. I used the normal ice cube trays and used the back of a teaspoon (the flat side) to unmould them from the trays. That worked well. Thanks for the recipe.

    I tried it but they actually dont bind together... i made a whole square instead of small cubes... the fruits separates once cut to take a bite😢

    • @adamthehtkminion6750
      @adamthehtkminion6750 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that's why she made this particular recipe as squares rather than one big sheet this time - I found some of them fell apart when you bite them as well (though some don't), but then I just ate the whole thing at once :) Also depends on how much fruit you add, the more fruit the less structural integrity :)
