The Xreal Air 2 Pro has support for Air casting (second screen/monitor) and also AR Space (Augmented Reality), is it worth buying it in 2024?
Have a look and what parts of the glasses have the higher temperature and look at the AR space as if you were wearing the glasses.

There is Nebula for Windows and Mac to you get the multiple screen options
I've struggled to make the Windows Version work for me. I got hold of some beta but so far it hasn't worked for me 😞
I plan to use mine as more of a HUD in many scenarios. For instance, HDMI output from Drone and more specifically as a large monitor for my Mirrorless cameras when shooting video. Granted, I'll have to figure out the best way to carry/mount the beam along side the devices, but I think it'll be doable. Wish there was a 1/4" screw mount on the Beam. May have to resort to velcro. LOL. Thanks for the vid!
that's a really cool and interesting use case. I normally keep the beam with me as it should typically be close to the glasses. What I noticed is that it allows to attach a strap to one of the corners (similar to those old digital cameras), if that's not conveninent I think, as you rightly said, the good old velcro is the only thing I can think of. nice video, thank you. the right way to wear it is for the bridge of the glasses touching our forehead? i realise that even when that happens, I could still see out of my lense
have you tried different nose pads? with this kind of lenses I think you will always be able to see to the sides as they're not as immersive as the meta quest. However, if you put the lenses cover (to black everything out) you should not be able to walk comfortably as it should cover most of your vision
Honestly, i have never tried 3D , AR , VR , or any type of visual tech , and i love tech and just wanted to try something different .. i bought these glasses with no specific explanations , so of course i got a Wow factor, as soon as i put them on ..
Who are these glasses for ? I honestly don't know, other than people who love tech stuff ..
And would i recommend buying these glasses ? Only if you have the funds to buy a new tech toy , which may one day be a possible future new way of enjoying visual entertainment and possibly doing some productive work ..
I will say this , these glasses (no matter which company or model you choose) have a ways to go before they are even considered to be mainstream .. you won't see many folks with any of these glasses anytime soon .. lot of things such as compatibility with apps and devices, must be better optimized and fixed .. oh and the accessories like the beam need a lot of improvements ..
None of these glasses are ready for prime time ..
But they are fun and nice to have .. i have to play with mine more , but so far i enjoy them .. looking forward to better development, improvements , more durable, better designs, lighter weight, better comfort and fit , ect .. just overall everything improved .. I'll more than likely buy the XReal 3 Pro next year 👍🏾 ..
Thanks for sharing your experience. I agree, some work is still needed for these glasses to be for everyone. I think these in particular (without the beam) are mostly a cool portable screen. Similarly, I've enjoyed watching movies and playing with them.
There's the SDK available for developers but you can tell that the nebula app is there mostly as a "cool demo" to show the potential more than a fully functional app. There's also this cycling app made I showed that made me smile because thinking of cycling (with a turbo trainer or similar) while wearing the Xreal Air 2 pro is a bit interesting: sweating + cycling doesn't look too comfortable 😄 (if that's the intetion of a feature like that!)
I'm preparing a video about the beam. I think it does bring some nice features but, in my case, I also found some unexpected things. Stay tuned! 😎

When use multiple screen and we use mouse. Can we navigate our mouse across the screens just like we did with multiple external monitor that extend display?
yes, you actually can. I've tried this with Mac OS and worked without any issues. It works as an additional screen. You need to choose first how you would like to use "the screen"
Hey, iam thinking about buying a air 2 pro for my university productivity. Iam mostly programming and I def need multiple monitors to my MacBook Pro m3. I want to use the glasses at home and in the bib that I don’t have to bring external monitors. Do you think the glasses fit these usecases?
Thanks for this question, it made me think about a few things (read below, it's long!)
what would you use it for at home or in the bib? So far, I've found them useful to watch videos with earphones/headphones (as there's sound leakage from the air 2 pro speakers)
I found difficult/not that comfortable to use when there's something that requires typing because either I use an on-screen keyboard or avoid typing. However, I'm now trying to reply this comment using the glasses and it is actually not as bad as I thought it would be...with the macbook/laptop on my lap!
Typing:
Test 1:
First, I needed to position my hands on the correct keys before I started typing. In order to do that I used the gap in between the frame of the glasses and my face, and also the lower part of the glasses that currently doesn't display any video. I can look down (as the macbook is resting on my lap) and see the keyboard with no major issues (you might see part of the glasses' frame but nothing that blocks the view of the keys).
I'm using the Macbook M1 keyboard to reply and I have no difficulty typing. I guess that part of it is because I know where the keys are, as a programmer, I think it might be the same for you. I tend to look down to the keyboard to find the "delete" key, the function keys or the "arrows". Not too annoying but I might need to test this for some hours to see if it becomes tiring or uncomfortable.
Test 2:
I've moved the laptop to my desktop, at the distance that I'd normally use to type and I confirm that I'm relying on the raised ridges that the "f" and the "j" keys have as it is not natural/easy to see the keyboard in full while using the extra screen (glasses) AND having the laptop on the desk.
I found myself needing to switch off the extra screen (double tap) to look at the main screen (macbook screen). The extra screen is so bright that I can't see anyone or anything properly on the main screen while having the glasses on (expected). Still, there's the light coming from the sides and your peripheral vision that keeps you half aware of your surroundings.
Increasing the brightness of the macbook does help to be able to read the main screen with the glasses but still I need to switch off the extra screen to look at the main one
Dragging windows:
I used the trackpad to drag the window where I'm typing now and this was seamless. Also it offers some degree of privacy as nobody can actually see the screen where I'm typing this. That part is quite "futuristic".
Other things:
- I normally use the Xreal Air 2 Pro cover that makes the background totally black. I had to remove it in order to type, drag windows or use the laptop.
- the double tap works perfectly fine to hide the extra screen (glasses) but I noticed that you have to set the photochromic tint to 0% to be able to see the main screen (macbook).
- Looking directly at the lamp/artificial light doesn't disrupt the extra screen quality too much but daylight might. I think this would be ok in most indoor locations.
- Remember that you need to have good sight or use the prescription inserts/glasses to be able to read the resolution as the screen would be a bit further away.
Summary
I'd need to know a bit more of the use cases but, overall, I found that typing for a few minutes is fine, watching videos is also fine. If you want to be watching videos or typing messages with the privacy of having your own screen then it works but remember it's just a screen and not an augmented reality device with useful apps, it tries to be one and there's an app for that but the app needs work.
I'll try to do actual work more frequently, also test different keyboards and different setups using the glasses and see how I feel. This might require some time but if I manage to do it I'll post a video.

Hi,i want to ask,have you try playing some game like Genshin Impact or any fps game using this Xreal Air 2 Pro glasses?because i thinking to buy this glasses for gaming
AR glasses have a small input lag which is not suggested for demanding multiplayer games. Otherwise is a very good experience
What device are you using as a pointer ?
The phone itself works as a pointer. You move the the phone as if it was a remote control pointing at the screen. If you need to recent you can hold and keep pressed the "home" button.
It is very blury
what areas are particularly blurry for you?
Does not provide any AR!!!!
