    I just bought a Pair of these Xreal Air 2 Pro glasses and it comes with the Beam as well. I got lucky and bought a Bundle Deal from someone. Also got that HDMI to USB-C cable. Excited to try it out and compare it to the Nreal Air I had a while back. I sold them. Mainly used them with my Steam Deck.
    I like that this Beam offers Smooth Follow, Anchor, and Side View. I believe, that Side View would be useful if you were trying to fix something and needed to watch a youtube video to help guide you. The Smooth Follow will probably be my most used feature. When I lay in my Massage Chair while using the Nreal Air glasses once the chair starts beating or chopping my back. My Srceen would vibrate making it hard to watch. I believe, this feature will help with that.
    But, the I ther cool feature of the Beam is that I can play my Nintendo Switch by simply plugging into the Beam. No docking station needed. This is a another great feature. I appreciate the video. Excited to get mine in so I can start playing with it. Take Care! 🙋🏻‍♂️🫶

    Hopefully Xreal will make a BEAM 2 .. the current Beam doesn't have enough RAM and needs a better processor ..
    A bouns would be something to change resolution output to the glasses .. ( Netflix is noticably lower resolution with the Beam, vs direct connection to phone the resolution is noticably higher, looks much better than the BEAM alone ..
    Nice video, keep up the good work .. I'm still learning how to use the glasses 👍🏾😁🙌🏾

      Thanks for passing by!, I agree that the Beam seems to struggle a bit and the RAM is not great and maybe that's reflected on the fan going at full blast😬. The one thing I enjoy though is that the beam battery life is better than my phone and you can just take the glasses and the beam and boom!: private portable movie player.
      I've been reading a bit about the Xreal Ultra (just for devs for now) and plugins/software for the Xreal Air 2 Pro and after all that I was thinking that if I could wish for something that would be for the Xreal glasses to do what the Beam does without needed the beam 😄. I guess the glasses would need more power and that would make them too hot for comfort but...to dream is free!
      Back to reality, I'm really looking forward to a more powerful Beam 2 if that comes in the future. I'm trying to find out if software can help with it

    I have the Xreal Air 2 Pro on order and should get it later today. I'm waiting to get the Beam but Xreal does have an adapter that is about half the price. It also allows you to connect to other devices like game consoles but it's wired. Doesn't have all of the benefits of the Beam but it's a decent replacement till I can get a Beam.

    Hi can you help me plse. Just got air 2. Use nebula on android. When i switch modes, unable to select item showing on glasses. Also , giant dot pattern on android. Dont understand it. Regards. Dave

      Hi! this video is about Beam, not Nebula. Did you mean to say "Beam" instead of "Nebula"?. If in fact you meant Nebula. what phone are you using? what version of Nebula?. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version (3.7.0 at the time of writing) and that you have a compatible phone. What mode are you using? air casting or AR space?. If you are using AR space if you press and hold the "home" icon from the nebula app until your phone vibrates you can recalibrate and move to the centre the cursor and later choose items by moving your phone. If you are using Air Casting moving your phone won't let you choose anything, you might need to use your phone and consider the glasses just a mirror/replica screen. Let me know if any of those suggestions helped, if not, you can provide a bit more details of what you see and what exact mode you are using and I'll try and help. thank you for sharing your experience

    Thanks i have only had it two days. Not got Beam. Tried Nebula on Tab s9+, S10+ and 15 pro max. Also macbook air 15. Cant load nebula app on any Apple. Tabs9 is best. Can see the screen on air 2. But can select any item

      I can't load Nebula from Mac either. Can you confirm whether you are using "AR space", did you try to press and hold the "home" button shown on the Nebula App (from your Android phone)? did it re-centred the cursor? (the phone should vibrate after a few seconds of holding that "home" icon)

      @@davidpilsworth1254 these days Nebula could do the trick with the appropriate phone. What I mentioned in my previous comments is all for Nebula. The beam is good mostly for battery life and portability when you don't want to use your phone but it is similar to a slow android device. Either would work depending on your use case.

    help, i cant connect to beam by wired. i have no problem wirelessly, but on wired, my phone or my PC detect beam as device (I can explore the files), not as a display. even on my Nintendo switch I cant connect it with or without the docks. how to solve it?

    • @FTACatch-up
      @FTACatch-up  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Typically it would go into that "explore mode" you described when the cable doesn't support video, when it's not compatible or not properly connected.
      What phone are you using? what Operating System?
      Remember there's an official list of compatible phones here: www.xreal.com/compatibility/
      if your phone is not listed there it might not work
      I've tested connecting the air 2 pro glasses directly with the computer (MacOS, Linux and Windows 11) and has worked.
      A few things you can test:
      - Do you have a compatible phone? (check link above)
      - Does the wired connection work when you connect the glasses directly to your PC without using the beam?
      - Are you using the original cable that came with the beam? (not all cables support video)
      - Possibly a silly question but, have you double checked that you have connected the cable from the air 2 pro glasses to the USB-C port in the beam that has the "glasses" and not the power icon? it's easy to connected them in the wrong order by accident.
      Let me know how it went and if I have any other idea we can try again

      @@FTACatch-up and yes.. connecting it directly from the glass to my phone or my laptop is fine. But not with beam, it only display the beam interface, nothing happened.
      Connecting it wirelessly to the beam is fine (mirroring), but of course cant display the netflix 🙂

    • @FTACatch-up
      @FTACatch-up  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aryo7781 right, so my wild guess is that it seems it is the cable you are using from the beam to the PC
      try using the original cable that came with the beam and not any other cable.
      just to make sure I understand, what do you mean by "beam interface"?
      Have you done the following?:
      1. USB-C cable that came with the beam from the beam (lightning icon, side where the orange button is) to your laptop or phone USB-C port
      2. USB-C cable from the air 2 pro glasses to the beam (glasses icon, same side of the blue volume buttons)
      3. Put your glasses on or cover the sensor in the middle and hold the orange button for a few seconds or press it a few times while you are wearing the glasses or looking through them (with the sensor covered). Sometimes it's actually working but if the image is anchored / pinned to a certain location you might just see a "black screen", pressing the orange button will change the modes so you should see something
      4. I'm still not sure what OS you are using but in any case go to "display settings" in your PC and check if you can see 2 monitors?

    I will be honest the beam is cool but u will also need the adapter for consoles the beam gets hot and battery is short lived I so need a cooling device for the beam

    • @FTACatch-up
      @FTACatch-up  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing, that's a good point!. In my case it has worked ok for what I use it (so far!). I haven't felt the need for the cooling device yet but it is not a bad idea. What I wonder is whether hot air actually comes out around the area where the power switch is. That's the expectation but although I've also heard the fan I haven't felt a particularly strong air flow so I wonder. Also, I thought about using the steam deck fan (just as a test) but then I need to figure out how do I measure the internal temperature of the beam? can I? I do have a way to measure externally but if it had some temp sensors and I could access them that would be amazing!. How long does the battery last for you? What do you use it for (e.g. consoles only, iphone, android, on its own...)?
