Hi Jay. Thanks for the video. We spoke briefly in the comments on Fluffs 4CM video. I understand how you are doing your clean/drive “channel” switching, but you are not switching the amp at all. You are simply bypassing the amp preamp when you use your clean tones. This is a great solution that I hadn’t tried, so thank you for demoing it. It may sound like I’m having a dig. I’m not. I’m thankful for your video, as it’s given me inspiration of an alternative that I hadn’t thought of. If you any aware, with your rig setup as it is, should you alter any of your clean channel settings, volume or eq, they will have no effect to your tone. But the pods clean preamps are fine. At least you get real world valve drive tones which is where it matters. Keep rockin’
+Saphrox Studios Guitar Tuition thanks man. I really appreciate your comments. You’re right. I guess that tone button turns off the loop which in turn bypasses the amp. I will be posting an update video on tones and recording/mixing using GarageBand on iOS iPhone 7 Plus soon, if you’re interested in checkin it out.
Thanks man I have the pod x3 and a hotrod deluxe and a jetcity soldano head peavey 112 cab and a vox wah and i mostly use my les paul and a schecter demon a cheaper but good tele and im trying to figure out how to connect pod to hotrod thru effects loop and get my best tone but so many settings and it doesnt take much to send that tone into a fuked sounding ear annoying sound im still new to all the gear adjustments.
Still got my X3 Pro . Want to get a helix because the connectivity is 4x but I record in ,y basement and the x3 is the only line 6 with bass pres and vocal and acoustic.
KWord man. The helix is pretty dope. I tried one out at the guitar center in Artesia, in LA. You can also used them as midi switches and program your channel switches using a DAW on a laptop so you’re not tap dancing on stage. So if you’ve got the money or you save up, I definitely recommend getting one. I plan on getting something to that effect. Possibly the AxeFX-III later on down the line. But for now I might by the Boss GT-1000. It has this sweet tail effect when switching channels.
Great vid. So, there is something I don't have clear. What do you have in the Pod's Amp-Cab settings? It seemed to be on, so I assume you are using a sim amp and your real cab. I have a Bugera V22 and I want to use the dirt channel of Pod's sim Amps and the real Cab (that and the correct route for delays and reverbs. Is that possible? Thank you.
thanx for a great video! I have a major issue with changing the pedals settings, as you can with the gear box, but it's not working with my osx system and i dont know how to do it on the board .. how do you get around this problem ?
Vegas Rock hey man, thanks for commenting, I appreciate your question. sorry, I’m not exactly sure what you mean. Are you using the Line 6 Pod with an Amp?
Dude u rock!!!! And it's a pleasure working with u..

Hi David,
So to get the sound of your amp into the POD you’d want to go out of the FX Send of the amp into the return of the POD.
Still got my X3 Pro . Want to get a helix because the connectivity is 4x but I record in ,y basement and the x3 is the only line 6 with bass pres and vocal and acoustic.

great video! but I don´t think it´s possible to switch between your amp channels through unbalanced cables using the x3.......
Yep your right. The tone 2 switch actually turns off the Loop so you’re just using preamps from the Line 6 into the power amp of the amplifier.
dude i like this video but id like to know if u could show the effect settings using Gear box, itd help a lot. thanks
willy maturana definitely need to update how I’m using the pedal now but for sure, will do. 👍🏼
@@menatchi dude, im waiting, ur a life saviour ;)
the clean chanel is from the line 6 preamp? or from your guitar?
Line 6 Preamp
do you know how to set is up as a pedalboard so you use only the fx on x3 live but still have the amp sound from my tube amp
Hi do you know how to run the x3 live so i have the sound of my real amp but the fx from the x3 live.
please share your input and output setting that would be great. I cant make it work sound is not coming out at all. Thanks
Go to the output setting scroll and select guitar Amp
Do you use your midi foot pedal for switching from.clean to distortion at the amp or are u using the x3 for all the gain and effects
Hey man, thanks for asking.
I just use the x3 for added gain and effects.
Is this possible?
I want the sound of my amp distortion, but no matter if i choose clean channel or dirty channel on my amp, the line 6 sucks the sound

Nope. Just running a Pre-Amp EQ from the pedal in front of the Tube amp.
Thanks for watching the video. 🤘🏼
Hola patch?
Alegon Cuevas what’s up?
