Oh it could have been SO Much Worse; It could have been Featherine Agustus Aurora that was the real Villain behind the scenes; the true architect of all the Horror, death and pain in Higurashi and Umineko. Who does it merely because she Can and it's entertaining to her. A character that could legitimately be described as Literally the Devil of the When They Cry franchise and she'd be horrifyingly powerful even outside of one of her fragments. Another disturbingly coincidental connection is that Featherine is known as a specific type of Witch; A "Creator" it would have been quite the twist to have her phase into the existence replacing Altair, then proceed to Lambast the human Creators and accuse them of being no better than her. A fascinating dichotomy no? Her goal could be as simple as finding a way into "Our" reality so that she can feel something again with her deadened senses and create endless possibilities of new and exciting games.

As a writer and screenwriter this series captivates me, the thought of this makes me kind of sad actually. I wonder what the character would say, would they even understand. I'd imagine they'd want to know why I put them through such torment and agony, watching friends die or their own sacrifices. I don't know how i could respond to that.
