I'm a late bloomer, I've never heard of dip nails, until last week, LoL. I've already bought my first kit, watched several videos but keep coming back to yours, each step of every nail, just to ensure I don't screw it up. Thank you for helping me to do my own nails ❤️
Yeeees!!!! This is my always go to video, thank you, I bought me a kit from Amazon, and save me 70 a month. These nail salons are ridiculous! Thank you
Worth mentioning and maybe putting in your description - I'm a male finger-style guitar player and I've started doing this since the lock-down. It's quite easy, it works very well and you can get a clear powder. Also thanks for getting to the point quickly. No wasted time in this video
Love this! With any nail polish, if the top gets stuck, heat up some water where it is hot but not boiling, and drop your nail polish into the hot water and let it sit for a couple of minutes. It will come right off. And obviously after that use nail polish remover to remove any of the goo from the bottle. Just don't get any of it in the Polish.
I started doing dip about 5 months ago and i will not go back to salon no more. Its easy and saves money and also i still can do long nails, short nails, designs etc.
@@diamondGilo0831 do you use revel? I've been researching a lot and now I no longer know which one to order. I wonder how long they last and whether it really worth to buy because some comments are positive and some are negative.
I’m desperate at this point . I’m opening a whole salon for myself . It’s been too long .Rona gotta go home . Lol stressing me out . But seriously I love how quick this one now I feel confident I can do it to.
Great review! And your step where you add another coat of the activator AFTER filing really helped me. I just got a set by another brand who didn’t mention that, and I ended up with a rough texture & hardly any shine after two layers of top coat! Thank you!! ❤️
So I'm not a nail person and just heard about dip nails and I really appreciate your video. I now know early on this isn't for me (too many steps). So ironically thanks for that!!
Love this product and easy to follow your video, thank you. I had one QA: after applying the last step, "Finish Gel", some of my nails looked cloudy still. Nails looked similar to 2nd step.I have applied finishing gel again and it seems to soak it up and returns to cloudy and some time white? Please advise me on what to do next. Thank you Joni
I'm four years too late from when this video was posted. I bought my first Revel nail kit a week ago. I should have watched more tutorials because I definitely put a little too much base coat on. Plan to redo them over the weekend, but so far they really do stay in place like a professional manicure one would get at a salon.
This was the best video I have seen on dip nails. I've tries other ways before and it turned out horrible. The first go with these instructions and I had complete success. Thank you for the video
had to do my own nails, thought it would be a disaster but I followed your instructions and I'm so happy. Hopefully this will give my nails some strength to grow now.~~~ How do we do infills ! eek !
I have had my kit for a while, the first time was a nightmare. Haven't tried since, after watching your video you inspired me to try again. Thank you!! Professional look this time.😊😊
Thanks for doing this video helps me out a lot. I’ve been doing dip nails all wrong 😕. But watching your video gave me ease and imma start doing it again. 😀
Thank you for this video very helpful I purchased dip powder a while ago and still haven’t touched because I don’t know how to use it. I will definitely be whipping it out after this video. ❤️❤️
Just ordered my Reval kit. Your video is helpful. Do I seal the end at each stage or just last gel step? Is the activator ok to get on skin or do I need to wipe it off also? Thanks
Brilliant video. I have gone back to using Acrylic as after 4 yrs of using Gel I developed extreme contact dermatitis. Quivk question I use glue on my tips then dip into the acrylic powder. Can I use any base coat to dip? And then because of the dermatitis from the gel will the activator cause an allergic reaction? Would appteciate your assistance. Instead of Activator what else is similar? As in my country activator is not always available
This video was so helpful! I have a question though. I just got the Azure beginners kit and I follow the instructions to a T, but after I do the activator then file them down, some of the nails won't let the top coat dry while others dry perfectly and glossy. And then others will dry and its super tiny little bumps. Am I doing something wrong or is it the kit? I do each nail exactly the same per instructions
You can get these from wish an aliexpress for way cheaper I got all colors an they were like one dollar each an each jar has 10 mg I also got the rest of the tools from wish for one to three dollars . I have a whole nail set up with powders gels and tips and full nails to glue on and acrylic powders all from wish an aliexpress an everything was really affordable 💜
Could you use that latex polish stuff before dipping that way if it gets on cuticles your able to peel off after the last coating and still have nice finish effect to it doesn't look like a 6 yr done it like the way it is with me🤣😭
Great video for us first time users. I wish it told us how long we need to wait for drying time after applying the finishing gel because my kit didn’t come with any instructions at all.
thanks for doing this on your real nail, i dip my real nails & all the videos on youtube were fake nails so i was worried you can only do fake nails at home!
I keep my nails natural but ... 2 days ago one got bent back and cracked in 2 places in the middle of my nail bed! I immediately trimmed off the free edge and the nail is still attached but any movement is bad news. I ordered a powder kit hoping to use a thin coat as a cast to strengthen and protect my nail as it grows out because it's going to take a month or so to grow enough for the broken part to be passed the nail bed where I can trim it off.
Great video. I did dips for a few months, but my natural nails go so thin they wouldn't support the acrylic anymore. Do you file off all the Acrylic before starting a fresh manicure, or leave a thin layer of acrylic? Do you need to let your nails breathe in between? Thx!
@@jessmenchaca8628 yes...soak a piece of cotton with 100% acetone and then cover the nail and apply foil and leave on for abt 30 mins. It will come completely off your nails.
How long did you file after first coat of activator? I could not hear if you said 20 minutes or two? Do you really need to file, if your nails are smooth already? Also, you mention wipe off nails after the 2nd coat of activator... Do you wipe with dry cloth, or a cloth with alcohol on it? Thank you!
I have some dip powders at home and I am trying to find one that doesn't mess up the brushes. Did you have any problem with the powder getting stuck in your brush?

This was my favorite beginner tutorial I found. I loved your clear instructions and my first time doing dip powder was easy and came out pretty good!
I should start doing this. Tired of my nail polish chipping after 10 minutes lol.
i know right i'm so over nail polish. i'm going to try this or gel nails. she makes it so simple to understand the process. love it
Hillary I have decided to do this because it’s so much easier than painting especially your dominant hand
Same. It's all I do now
Dip powder is 100 times better than nail polish! why waste your time painting your nails when it chips the next day???
I do gel nails but they pop off alot for some reason. maybe because it's hard for me to paint them without getting some on the skin
You're exactly right. $50+ dollars a pop has me buying nail dip kits and learning to do my own nail dip. Your videos are so helpful. Thanks a ton.

Just paid $40 to get my first set done today 😑 .... definitely need to try it myself and save some money.

Hi. Can I use acrilic powder the same I use for acrilic nails?
No uv light needed? How long does it take for the final coat to dry?
Base and dip in powder
base again then dip powder again then developer wait 5 mins file, buffer then top coat on top is this the correct order?
How do you get it off?
What revel color is this?? 😍
I think the filing is essential because when I got mine it was so thick after and not many people file after
Quickly question at what point is the nail supposed to go under UV light? Asking for a friend because I feel like the shop was cutting corners

I love Revel. But wow that last part- Top coat/Gel takes sooooo long to DRY. WHY? Did I do something wrong?
J Ross you can get a uv light and it will help
So for dip nails you don't need the lamp? So it's similar to a natural polish but gives the result of gel? Just wanted to clarify.
is it hard to take off? do you have to soak it like regular gel?
Thank God this isn't 20 minutes..
