  • Sorry for my yucky mood in this one!
Alcohol ink colors used are Tim Holtz / Ranger inks Pistachio, Sailboat Blue, and Laguna. The glass bottle is just something I picked up on clearance at a local craft store. I also used 99% isopropyl alcohol and Jacquard Pinata brass.

A thousand times over thank you for this video! I was stuck trying to use alcohol inks in glass vases I had. They were way too pastel! You've given exactly the tutorial I need. I'm so grateful I found you!
Edit to add: stone coat countertops has food safe epoxy resins for sale.

I don't know how you YTrs do it. Besides saying what you use in the video, a lot of it is down below. I think it's nice that you voice over our talk through real time. Some of the videos from over seas (eg. ZIMINO ART). She just list supplies at the end. Plays music through the making of the art. If you don't watch, you just won't know. I'm just thankful for artist like you and others over seas sharing with us beginners. I'm still trying to get the hang of alcohol inks and you're videos help so much.

Thanks so much for venting Lorrie. I have been feeling very down the last couple of weeks and your vent has helped me to remember that I'm not the only one suffering. It's been a crappy couple of years for so many people around the world and I realised that I'm one part of a large group. Your work is always well explained and I know from selling craft supplies that there are always a very small percentage of people who ask questions which are answered in the first couple of sentences of my listings. On good days it doesn't bother me but some days when I'm feeling down, it can be extremely annoying and bring me down even further. Continue to vent when you need to. We all have to learn to use our voices to express our feelings however we can. Beautiful work as always and sending big hugs for you 💗

❤😂❤ 4 Adult children, 13 grandchildren but due to religion politics narcissist sociopath psychopathic, control freaks, spouses who are controlling, distance, they all moved tho different states, after what they tell people they say they enjoyed the fairytale childhood I gave them, they care less about me or having me enjoy their children! I haff an alcoholic mother, no father, only child, took care of my mother my entire life, even 13 years bedridden in my home, but doesn't bother any if them to shun me, because they have no need to get anything from me anymore. So I went traveling to avoid suicide, and it worked only in the sense of distraction, but my heart and soul are shattered. They don't seen to care that they, all 6 years apart, have broken my heart and slaughtered my soul. Alone. No access tho my own babies now adults and they care less. No access to my grandchildren, which target than salt in the wound is more like vinegar. INCONCEIVABLE!😢😢😢😢

As they say, you can lead a horse to water and you can't make them drink. If they can't figure it out - tell them to go back to the video and rewatch it. If they are serious about it, take notes - that's what I do. I really appreciate all your insight and information. Hope you feel better - deep breath and keep going!!! You are awesome!!!

Being fifty something myself, I know it is true, it will pass. When things go wrong long enough then they will be right again, lol. Life is not easy these days and not sleeping just messes up our health, physically and emotionally. Sending a big hug and a huge thanks for all you have taught and shared via You Tube. P.S. stupid or unnecessary questions annoy me always no matter what. Entitled or demanding people can raise my blood pressure at times. Any knowledge you share is appreciated and the least I can do is actually listen and be appreciative.

I love watching your tutorials and experimenting and always look at your info below so I can order the inks etc. Painting takes me to my happy place and feel so much better after even though it doesn’t look anything like yours😅. I’m really addicted to the alcohol ink painting and only been doing it for a couple of weeks.

Your work is gorgeous! First time I have seen your page and wow! I hope your heart mends from the homesickness. It takes time to adjust, be gentle with you. And never apologize for your boundaries. You don’t have to respond to the ones who appear to have not watched the video. And the ones asking “will this work?!” A simple response might be “ give it a try and let me know”. Continued blessings on your work, and heart. Peace

Lorries, you are an amazing artist and I have learned so much by watching you. I love hearing your stories about your grandbabies. Practice is key for sure!!! I have made so many mistakes but they are fun! Watching your videos have taught me so much, Lorrie. You are my first teacher and I have watched you consistently. You are amazing!
We, your loving loyal followers know what you are talking about. Let the haters go somewhere else. You have to be making money, girl! That is what I (and my husband) wish I could do to support my art addiction! You keep going and sharing with us. You have guts. Putting yourself out there is going to bring the crazies in. It is unfortunate that there are mean perfectionist narcissists out there that feel they must correct everyone. You vent any time. We love you!!!

Hi Lorrie. I've just started learning (trying) alcohol inks. Ive had some for over a year, but only to color resin. Your videos stood out to me. I've watched several in past couple days.💜👍🥰 and I've learned alot. You're excellent at explaining EVERYTHING! i hear your frustration. And I get it.
There's too many lazy people thinking they're privileged and shouldn't have to put in the time and work it takes to learn anything. I discovered fluid art 3+ years ago and I see the a- holes out there being stupid. I watched videos for few months while collecting supplies to do acrylic pouring. I was all over Facebook groups and sucking up as much info as i could. I don't even get into groups anymore because of the laziness, stupidity and plain old rudeness from everyone. You artists that put so much time and energy into every video have my utmost respect. It's alot of work. And alot of your time. Im just hearing you say if one
Of your subscribers know the answer to a question feel free to answer. Ive done that a few times for artists but always worried they'd be upset. But hearing this from you makes me happy and more determined to answer for you. And other artists. I never would have known how to do any of the art im enjoying now. If it weren't for you hard working, talented artists doing videos, i would still be a depressed and bored widow.
Thanks to folks like you, I'm back out in the world, creating Beautiful art and making money.
ONLY because of you. Im so grateful to all of you. 💜💜
The entire art industry went crazy during the pandemic. But they all think its so easy. They don't want to practice. They want you to tell them, directly, how to and what to use and do. They scan a video, not listening, just like end results because they are sure they can do it if you can.
    F@#K THEM!!!
YOU'RE NOT CRANKY. YOU'RE AMAZING AND VERY HELPFUL.
just announce at the beginning of each video that you will not answer stupid questions. Meaning if it's mentioned in the video, you're not going to answer again. And let them go. They're adults. Lazy adults. Put it back on them. It's not as if they're paying you. Let it go. Hopefully they'll figure it out. Or better yet, they can BUY it from you. 😄😄😄
Sorry I ranted . But I feel so bad for all you hard working artists trying to help and people get stupid on you.
I am a new and loyal, from here on in, subscriber !!
Thank you for all you do. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

You need to just stop talking! You have NOTHING to apologize for and owe no explanation to anyone. You are fantastic and it angers me that these people are energy vampires and are sucking it out of you. This is not a job , it is supposed to be your soul feeding and peace from your art and they are taking that from you. I also raise and homeschool 2 of my grandkids and there is not a lot of time in the day for “me”. I understand completely. What in the world kind of job does your husband have that he is gone for months? I also raise the kids by myself and it’s HARD. IF IT WERE ME I WOULD PROBABLY BLOCK THOSE PEOPLE LOL. NO ONE HAS A RIGHT TO STRESS YOU AND BE TOXIC TO YOU WHEN YOU ARE DOING THIS FOR FREE! Trust me you are one of the best with your utube. Sending you light and love

I think your choices of color and the end result on this bottle are ethereal! I am going to try and reproduce it on a large special edition vodka bottle someone gave me. Do you have to use both products of varnish on it? What happens if you don’t put the kamar and the other spray on it?

I have a question about you transferring your brass ink into a smaller needle bottle for better control, how do you do it and make sure the color and consistency of the paint isn’t compromised and still mixes?? I love this bottle!

@tamaraholloway3513 thanks for the reply, but I wrote that so long ago and listening to her "vent" I realized she wasn't going to answer me so I quit following her, but thanks

How well does this ink hold up on the glass? Does it need any kind of sealer. Does it scratch off easily?

It will definitely scratch easily if not sealed. I use a few coats of Kamar varnish by Krylon, then a few coats of UV Archival by Krylon. You can also coat with resin once the Kamar varnish has dried good for a few days for a more scratch resistant coating.

Question, I have been using the ink on glass for a few months and recently discovered that some of the colors simply wash off with water! I did a vase yesterday. The top was Pink and the bottom a Ranger sunset. The sunset washed off the glass after 24 hours! White ink doesn’t stay on at all when it gets wet! What am I doing?

      Did you seal it?

    • @susanmcmichael5607
      @susanmcmichael5607 ปีที่แล้ว

@@daydreamerdebbie not at the time. Why do some colors wash off and others don’t?
I just happen to touch the vase with my wet (water) fingers and the color was on me.

I'm so sorry you are exhausted and down, I hope you take some time to rest and decompress, please don't feel obligated to create content, we'll all be here when you feel better. Please ignore the knuckleheads, many people have become so self-centered and think you have nothing better to do than to powder their a*s at every turn. Finding that more and more in the business world, it's more than a bit concerning.

I put on a few coats of Kamar varnish by Krylon, then a few coats of UV Archival also by Krylon.

Seriously I would ignore those questions. They are ignorant and obviously don’t watch the videos. I belong to a lot of art fb groups and there are always those who ask the same stupid questions. Those people piss me off to be honest. Again DONT. Answer them!

If you have a laptop, save your video on it and upload it from there to TH-cam.

Really enjoyed your video and loved the bottle. It felt like l was sitting with a friend having a good bitch session. Feels good just to let it out sometimes.

Ignore the idiots and do your art for those interested. I am watching you for the first time, and as a musician, I understand your frustration, BUT your rant goes on and on over the same thing for too long. Art is my joy! Please stay positive. Very sorry you feel so bad....been there, trust me, but not something to be made public on a tutorial. Just a suggestion, vent to your friends privately and keep your videos positive. I had to stop watching....very sorry.

Brute tone is not good. It is for musical instruments and will crack and ruin you art. Been there done that and even filed a complaint with them. It is not recommended for art work. Just FYI
