      Fasting is not free for people working shifts. Walking is not free for quarantine

      You can pace inside instead of walk outside and it's still free. Fasting is still free for people working. Doesn't cost anything.

      @@soloplaysgames9965 have you ever seen cage apartment and capsule house in hongkong? How can you fast if you start eating at 7pm but on your shift til 5am and then wake up at 10am, the next day you wake up at 7pm. Most doctor, securities, electrician work in ever changing shifts and they cant organize their eating time. Workers who cant afford to eat outside of their cafeteria cant fast either, they are provided a certain amount of food for each meal at a specific time, meanwhile in fasting you gotta eat a bigger meal.

    I am 85 lost 40 lbs. Have Parkinson's .I was thought to have hpogloxhima.Just finished 48 hour fast.It was like someone turned the lights on in a dark room.Thank you Doctor.You and the rest of your keto colleagues changed my life.I know go twice a week Rock Steady Boxing.

    I do IF daily and extended fasting on weekends. This together with daily workouts and walls during the demand has given me a new lease of life. Fasting is the best thing I've discovered for my body. I've lost over 40lbs and still losing. Fasting gives you tremendous control over what goes into your mouth thus more control over your lifestyle

      So on the weekends you don’t eat anything except drinking water or tea? And then for your IF what do you do for your daily? And no counting calories or restrictions besides the window of eating?

      @@Romans08.31 my extended fasting over the weekend is usually for 36 hours which means I still get to eat a meal. Daily IF is usually for 16 or 18 hours. I don't really count calories but work on portion control.

      I find it impossible to fast on weekends because eating is such a social thing, and weekends are my social life days.
      I do OMAD (24 hour fasts), and then I do extended fasts on Monday and Tuesday (72 hour fast).
      Im going to extend it to Monday Tuesday Wednesday... But Im waiting on having the money for a few more supplements.
      It's been a year since your comment, do you have updates on your journey?

    I just completed a 5-day fast, did a 3-day one last month. I’ve lost a total of 15 pounds. I’m planning to fast once a month. It feels great to see the scale finally move in the right direction! 🙋🏻‍♀️

    I fast every day and only eat once a day .... It took me about 4 weeks to get there and I won't go back ...I don't ever get hungry now at all ... down 60 lbs ... feel young again at well over 60...wish I had done this year's ago ....no going back for me...
    I try to simply avoid sugars and starches in my one meal ...eat a good meal of protein animal and fruit fat, veg till full and it's easy... we're all different ...but it worked for me and I won't be trying any other way of life ...
    Plus I'm off ALL my meds now ... TH-cam and this sort of info has changed my life .... just try changing yours ....

    I've been following Dr. Fung channel and learned a lot and my guide in doing IF..im on my 8th month of IF..16/8 for the first 5 months and now doing 18/6..really did a lot good with my health and its easy to do with every lifestyle..lost 15kg (not that fast but can see the changes in my body appearance) and blood pressure been regulated..

    I went out to eat at restaurants every Friday in lent. I fasted for religious reasons and health benefits. I drank ice water with lemon while family members had steaks and other delicious foods. It wasn’t hard as it seams.

    Intermittent fasting 16/8is for me ideal. I skip breakfast and eat at 12and 20.No snacks and no carbs but only vegetables extravergin olive oil and protein. 👩🇮🇹❤️

    I love how you talked about how you did a fast for the mental challenge. To see what you could do and how you felt. I try to do a 16/8 program. And during the week, dropping my son off to daycare, and going to work for the day I do great! But the weekends. Oh goodness! Feeding my son and almost obsessing about when I can have my protein shake. Some of those days I just “can’t” beat that mental game!!! Sooo mind over matter!! I’m down 40 pounds after gaining 70 at 39 years old giving birth to a baby 2 weeks before covid. So I’m so grateful for the 40 but have 40 to go!!!

    an other useful tip is, Chew your food that it becomes almost liquid, by doing this you can loose weight and this is my personal experience. In this case you can eat whatever normal food you think. Like , brown bread, rice, chicken, meat etc. Key here is to chew 30 times, and you will see the magic

    I just lost 11 pounds in 30 days changing nothing except moving to 18:6 IF. I let my weight fluctuate 10 pounds, so I’ve had to lose this weight before and I’ve never lost 10 pounds with this little effort.

    I'm doing IF and doing the 18-6 split. What I dont understand is am I suppose to eat whenever I'm hungry during the 6 hours or do I just stick to 2 meals during that period? I'm plateaued right now and I'm thinking my body isn't getting enough calories so my metabolic rate has slowed down.

      @@rconsigli59 yes only one meal a day, problem is I am a Indian vegetarian so most my meals are carb, I make my bread instead of whole wheat, I make with oats and quinoa but still carbs. Today is my 13 th day starting. Lost same amount.

    I do 2-3 days fasting and eat once and again 2-3 days fast doing it for 2 weeks because I have to lose 25kg to join the military yes it sounds dangerous but I weight 120kg and I have millions of calories laying around and I feel great

      Black coffee is fine. Dr Fung and others have mentioned black coffee and green tea as acceptable many times. Just don’t add anything to it.

    A month of 16:8 IF with barely a budge on the Tanita scale. Body recomp is my goal. Only 6-8 pounds to lose but soooo frustrating. I've been so consistent, reduced sugars and simple carbs and still no progress. So, definitely not a magic bullet.

      I watched one of his videos where he said that if you're plateauing then extend one of your days to a longer fast. Someone I know did a 23 hour fast on weekdays and fast for 2 days on weekends. He lost 60 lbs for 3 months. I swear it was surreal but he really did it and the results were amazing. Don't give up. I'm sure you can do it.

    So for fasting as soon as you start eating again the best thing would be to eat a normal amount of calories for maintenances…. Regardless of the length of fast?

      No, if you go further than 48 hours Fasting, say you fast for 4 days water only, when you start to refeed take it very slowly on the first day, you might get cramps if you eat to much to soon. Good luck.

      Yes, I do a full day fast every 3 days, eat my usual amount of calories on my feeding days. The interesting thing with Fasting is that you can lose weight while eating normally, no calorie restriction needed.

    What does Dr Fung say about "water weight" vs fat loss, for instance in the 7 1/2 lbs you say you lost during tour 4 day fast?

      In other videos Dr. Fung has stressed that the maximum fat loss during a fast is only a half pound per day. In a four day fast you will lose two pounds of fat - everything else is water weight or added food back to your digestive system.

    How do you get all the protein your body needs on OMAD? This is a real concern I have because, by every keto calculator out there, I should be consuming 90 -100 grams of protein per day. I could never do that at one meal.....and I don't know if all that protein would be absorbed anyway even if I 'could' do it. I've lost 45 lbs so far on Keto + IF (16/8) and reversed T2D in 6 months. I feel fantastic, but now I'm in a month long stall. I have another 30-40 lbs to lose. Was considering OMAD a few times per week to kick start weight loss, but am concerned I will be deficient in protein. A few years ago I did dirty keto + IF with insufficient protein and my hair fell out. Don't want that to happen again.

      You could extend your meal to a one or two hour window and maybe take a protein shake on either end of the meal? Might be easier that way?

      Take your pressure twice a day religiously while fasting. Adjust meds as needed, because your BP will drop while fasting.
      I’m on 80% less medication after 3 months of fasting. GL

      Put some himalayan pink salt in water and drink it. Your headache will go away. This is a lack of electrolyte issue.

    Can anyone comment on females fasting during their period?
    I get super hungry right before my cycle and do not want to break my 37 hour alternate day fasts (which I’ve been doing for almost a month now).

      I am currently on a 7 day fast during my period. Not hungry at all. However, I eat no processed carbs. Just meat, fish, eggs, green vegetables & avocado. Some say not to but I have done this a thousand ways. I feel better not eating during my cycle. I’ve lost 140 lbs. I started with 16/8 and now do 24 hr to 7 day fasts. My skin is amazing. Reversed 20 year gum disease and feel great.

      The reason for fasting is to help remove the toxins in your body then when you start eating,you avoid the bad foods and start eating healthy to keep the weight at a level where you still feel healthy. There’s a lot of bad carbs and bad calories around that we eat normally. Like chocolates, breads,cookies,sweet tea,soda etc.

      Not supposed to honestly. Just black coffee or unsweetened green tea.it’s because flavors can actually raise your insulin levels and a huge part of fasting is avoiding that.
