I think at a certain point of view it's actually fine, though I agree that the paint job on the gums were very dull (aside for the unfortunate broken parts) but I think overall it still looks great , in my opinion
Prime 1 studio bait and switch is getting ridiculous! They have a professional paint the prototype lifelike, in a way they know the factory can't even come close. I'm big nervous for the 1/3 Jungle Hunter haha

ugh, another reason to be concerned for the Jungle Hunter 1/3.....Unusual to see them use the black foam for packaging, the way they cut it might have contributed to the breakages maybe....nice review though, fair, good stuff.

I love the assassin predator I think it had the potential to push the predator franchise super far! I know the masks were one of if not their standout feature but the lore behind why he didn’t need one was pretty neat and he was a pretty badass character despite his embarrassing defeat.

It’s hard not to like anything from the Predator/Alien line. His hound is awesome. It looks decent to me -That green blood pops !!! Also, the one thing you have going for the breakages is it’s behind the head and with the murky style paint job you should be able to touch it up some and it look fine with relative ease. Still sucks though don’t get me wrong

Hopefully they see your review and realize what a Miss they did here and take care of you on the breakages that is just way too much breakages. Sorry to see it happen to you I can only imagine how you feel after spending that much money

I'm about to get into Anime scale figure collecting, but I'm definitely looking into that first because I'm currently looking at a couple $1,500 1/4 pieces that are extremely intricate as well, even more than this and that's concerning now.... I haven't seen an issue like that until I saw it on this horror/predator channel though?? It's funny if I had ordered this I wouldn't think nearly as much as you are on some of the paint app. You've seen so many statues you have a reference for what's acceptable. It's a killer statue I would think about having it repainted.
That many breaks is really concerning. Although I’m not planning on getting there Ahab Predator due to the fact I don’t think it will fit in the space I wanted to put it in, I truly hope it turns out better than this for everyone who did buy it. Now I am also worried about breaks on there Alien warrior which I am buying.
Looks great if you stand back and take it all in. But up close, the paint job on some parts looks like it was done by a 1st year art student...passable but hardly the quality we've come to expect from Prime 1, especially when you're shelling out $3K. Thanks for posting.
I agree, this is a shitty paint job. This is what you would expect from Sideshow. I got 2 more pieces coming from Prime 1, and I hope the paint is better than the last piece I got.

Very big predator statue I think the colors could have been better the pose is good but they dropped the ball on paint and you are right the movie was a big let down

Definitely a massive statue. But I can't get excited about any statue from Shane Black's The Predator. I just can't justify displaying anything from a movie that bad.
Prime studios just lost my support because their shipping cost is outrageous. $200.00 to ship a 1/4 scale statue that weighs 20 lbs. Prime has some great statues but they need to do something about shipping cost. On that note these statues need a place that has lots of room to store them because they are huge!!!
Very disappointing. The one thing about statues this size is that attention to details is very important. I like the dog, though. Overall, though, still a great statue and a conversation piece.
I love nearly all of the Predator movies to some degree and am really fond of the Yautja design. I was fine with this film, but design of this one was far too bland for me. I'm not a fan of how it goes together or the price, so this particular piece is a fail from me on pretty much every level.
Oh wow what a huge disappointment from Prime 1's top sculptors. It looks like someone took a huge pile of turd and decided to make a Predator sculpt out of it. The paint job is horrible and the portraits make me want to puke. Then they have the nerve to sale it to Predator fans. Way to take people's money and on top of it all they didn't even packed it up so it wouldn't break. I'm sorry mr. X but you got screwed and they didn't even have the common decency to give you a reach around. Hope they have a good return policy.
Hated how they changed the mythology of the universe. Individual characters were fun, but the twist on who the Predators wanted was just goofy. Such a shame that it was directed by a guy from the original movie and he thought ppl would like this. From the thumb nail I thought it was an unpainted statue. Blah coloring
Yea it’s not great, I don’t like the bases, they’re too plain, and I just hate this Predator, I hate when they mess around with the design of the Predator. It’s the coolest alien ever created, stop bloody messing around with it. But I don’t have a problem with no helmet, he didn’t have a helmet in the movie so they would have had to create a helmet that was never in the movie. But i love the helmets, if I had these statues I would display them with the helmets on.
It's a real shame that such a cool character came from such a terrible movie. I love the pose and the size but everything else is a miss. They should have done a bit more especially for the price.

I just saw a new Spawn statue on World of Custom Statues that still had spots available.

Nice looking sculpt but the paint apps is one of the worst paint jobs I've seen on any Prime 1 statue.
